Hi, Soman! Why does Agatha keep forgiving Sophie when she tries repeatedly to murder her? Does she have a type of Stockholm syndrome? Or is it because she is just forgiving? Is it because she doesnโ€™t like being in a fight? Or she doesnโ€™t have the energy for fighting? Can you help?
Also, can you come to Scranton P.A. on a day that isn’t Saturday?

hjannie replied 2 years, 5 months ago

It’s because Agatha is portrayed as truly Good AND because she loves Sophie as a friend very much. Remember – the Good forgive. Agatha seems to live by that rule.
Furthermore, I think you may have misunderstood Stockholm Syndrome. That is a syndrome of when a victim sympathizes for their captor and cares for them. Sophie hasn’t necessarily…[Read more]

When I said Stockholm Syndrome, I meant a kind of it. It doesn’t mean Sophie kidnapped Agatha, but she has been held captive and mentally tortured in a way. Not exactly tortured, but remember book 3? I know the rules of Good and Evil. I just wanted to know, because Sophie is horrible to Agatha and Agatha forgives her every time. Sophie has…[Read more]

princesssophieofgood replied 2 years, 5 months ago

Sophie only tryed to murder her two times, in the first book an in the third one. Also, Agatha tryed to abandon Sophie in the second book, when Sophie was completilly innocent, and this caused Sophie going back to evil. Sophie also sacrificed herself for Agatha in the first book.

She is good, it’s literally in the rules that the good forgive. ๐Ÿ™‚

          agathaandtedrosrock replied 3 years ago

So you have to go by all the rules in every situation. nice. but even agatha isn’t 100% Good

        pinkeleora08 replied 3 years, 1 month ago

Because she goes to the school for good, and she has a heart of gold. ๐Ÿ™‚

kaceofwoodsbeyond replied 3 years, 1 month ago

No matter how many things Agatha and Tedros do wrong, they are GOOD, and nothing will change that. I know for a fact Agatha would never do anything as evil as disobeying the rules of her side ( Good ) even if she does slip up occasionally.

agathaandtedrosrock replied 3 years, 1 month ago

Yes, but when your best friend tries to destroy the world like, 3 times you might want to rethink who your best friend is.

agathaandtedrosrock replied 3 years, 1 month ago

          Especially if your’e Good.

avivakeller replied 3 years, 1 month ago

I real the same way about why Sophie forgives Agatha!

agathaandtedrosrock replied 3 years, 1 month ago

Yes, but remember when Sophie had the ring on her finger? Agatha was enabling her Evil. That’s Evil too. There is a point when you just have to say no, like Tedros. Soman, can you help?

kaceofwoodsbeyond replied 3 years, 1 month ago

Maybe itโ€™s also a matter of keeping Sophie under control and on a ( imaginative) leash.

        pinkeleora08 replied 3 years, 1 month ago

NO ONE would really hurt someone if they are truly good, even if they hurt them first. I agree with Kace.

avivakeller replied 3 years, 1 month ago

Sophie is super sensitive! And Agatha just ignores that! In Gavaldon they were happy together and inseparable!! When they went to sge Agatha started acting like Sophie wasn’t even her best friend! Why does Sophie have to apologize!?

          pinkeleora08 replied 3 years, 1 month ago

NO! In the first book, SOPHIE wasn’t being acting like a good friend! She acted like she didn’t need Agatha, while Agatha was trying to get both of them back to Gavaldon to continue their friendship.

          pinkeleora08 replied 3 years, 1 month ago

          So, SOPHIE should be apologizing.

avivakeller replied 3 years, 1 month ago

Friends support each other! Sophie wanted Agatha to be happy! But she also wanted to do something with her life! She wants to be Agatha’s friend while living her dream. And Agatha was part of that dream!! But she turned it into a nightmare.

avivakeller replied 3 years, 1 month ago

Oh. Also. If I ever say anything that sounds mean while arguing it’s just because I’m a VERY heated debater!

        pinkeleora08 replied 3 years, 1 month ago

She kept telling Agatha she didn’t need her in the book, and turning on her! Agatha did nothing to deserve her un-happy life.

avivakeller replied 3 years, 1 month ago

But what did Sophie do to deserve an even more miserable life. And what did Agatha do not to deserve one!?

          pinkeleora08 replied 3 years, 1 month ago

Agatha was always kind to others, regardless if another person would shun her, or would tell her she’s not worth it. She kept going, head high, and Sophie tried to ruin it by trying to kill her. Sophie, I agree deserves to get a happy ever after, but not if she keeps up trying to MURDER half the school’s children.

          pinkeleora08 replied 3 years, 1 month ago

plus, remember when she went all bald multiple times and tried to kill he? And turned against all good? AND AGATHA? well, there’s that.

avivakeller replied 3 years, 1 month ago

        NICE TO OTHERS!!??!?!? What!?

          pinkeleora08 replied 3 years, 1 month ago

SHE HELPED SAVE PEOPLE IN AAAAAAAALL THE BOOKS, AND SHE MADE SURE EVERYONE WAS SAFE! SHE WAS GOOD HEARTED INSTEAD OF BLACK CRUEL HEARTED!!

avivakeller replied 3 years, 1 month ago

Good hearted!? I’m sorry that’s historical! Her actions may be good but her attitude is E-VIL!

          pinkeleora08 replied 3 years, 1 month ago

Her attitude is not evil! What did she ever do “evil” In ANY book? I can all the times Sophie has been attempting to murder not just Agatha, but ENTIRE SCHOOLS AND VILLAGES!

avivakeller replied 3 years, 1 month ago

Can we please continue this after we deal with the demon?

          pinkeleora08 replied 3 years, 1 month ago

          ok. sounds good.

theginger replied 3 years, 1 month ago

Well Aviva, can’t say I’m surprised that you think Agatha’s evil or her adittude is evil, cause you think Rhian is good (which he isn’t). Honestly Sophie deserved her unhappy ending for the main reason that she never accepted herself. There is a reason Agatha grew into being a queen, she accepted and faced her fears and triumphed over then,…[Read more]

avivakeller replied 3 years, 1 month ago

          pinkeleora08 replied 3 years, 1 month ago

no, correction: she hates being bossed around and Tedros being so helpess, and her not being able to see him.

          agathaandtedrosrock replied 3 years ago

avivakeller replied 3 years, 1 month ago

And being queen. But seriously. THE DEMON!!

theginger replied 3 years, 1 month ago

And she doesn’t hate it, she just isn’t used to it. Sorry about the demon?

Soman Chainani replied 3 years ago

omg all these answers are good, but real reason is deep down agatha knows who sophie really is

          agathaandtedrosrock replied 3 years ago

          And what’s that?

          theginger replied 3 years ago

If you can’t figure it out, I’m not going to tell you. The books are about who Sophie and Agatha are and how they understand each other. If you don’t see that, I can’t make you.

          agathaandtedrosrock replied 3 years ago

Because Sophie is a horrible person, even if she tries not to be. In the entire book 3, Sophie literally holds the world hostage, and Agatha forgives her. She is Good, but really? Who would do that? It doesn’t sound right, though I love the books ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

          theginger replied 3 years ago

I would forgive my best friend if they did that.

        agathaandtedrosrock replied 3 years ago

Look, I do understand that the books are about who Sophie and Agatha are and how they understand each other. I’m just asking Soman.

          agathaandtedrosrock replied 3 years ago

Also, if your best friend tried to kill you, tried to steal your boyfriend, almost destroyed the world, and didn’t even apologize, would you still be connected to them?

          theginger replied 3 years ago

          Yes

        pinkeleora08 replied 3 years ago

Sophie might have a teensy bit of good, but she has done evil- and has not stopped, or asked for forgiveness, and Agatha has never done anything terribly wrong like Sophie, to deserve to be labeled “evil”

          agathaandtedrosrock replied 3 years ago

          Right!

        pinkeleora08 replied 3 years ago

Agatha is not “evil” because she has nothing terrible like sophie deserve that label.

        avivakeller replied 3 years ago

Well Agatha has an evil attitude!

          pinkeleora08 replied 3 years ago

well, that doesn’t mean she’s “evil”. and it’s not technically “evil”, it’s just moody.

    Dear Soman,
I am writing a novel about a teenage Jewish Super heroine. Do you have any advice?

goodandevel replied 3 years, 1 month ago

If he is boy you can call him Noam or Yehonatan
And if he is girl you can call her Stave or Tamar.
it’s really beautiful name and it’s Jewish names

goodandevel replied 3 years, 1 month ago

Why you choose to write about this subject?
