My Ranking Points
Hey guys, is anyone interested in meeting my character Meggie? I’m itching to write with someone. You can find her bio in my activity 🙂
Okay! Here. 🙂
Name: Nastya Katarina Katyuk (Настя Катаріна Катюк)
Nicknames/Aliases: Nastya’s name can result in some mean nicknames (“Nasty”), and it’s so short people just call her Nastya anyway. Besides, it’s a nickname in itself for the name Natasha (Наташа). However, her middle name can be made into quite a few nicknames, but they are not used much. “Katrinka” is one used by her family.
Age: 11 3/4 (she is one of the youngest students at Pisces and to be sent from Capricorn, especially because they prefer to send older children)
Year: Nastya is in her 5th year at primary school (assuming it’s like grades), and her first year in Pisces.
Alignment: Nastya has a complicated opinion. She does like the idea of the Cities for different passions, since it’s easier to follow your dreams and meet people with similar interests. So technically, she’s a Seperator, because she does like the basic idea. However, she doesn’t have anything against the idea of Pisces and doesn’t want war or conflict.
Family and Lineage: Nastya’s family is very Slavic. Her family specifically comes from in what once was the country Ukraine in Europe, and her parents are trying to retain their culture. She has a few ancestors from all over Capricorn/Europe, but mainly Ukrainian, Russian, and a bit Polish.
Her parents are farmers. As the owners of one of the only farms in Capricorn, they’re very busy. Half their food goes to the greenhouse where everyone else in Capricorn gets their food, and the other half is theirs. It’s a small family farm, and as an only child, Nastya does a lot of work on it.
Personality: Nastya is a shy girl with strong opinions. She doesn’t talk much and doesn’t see reason to. When someone challenges her beliefs, she’ll calmly state what she thinks. She won’t get worked up or make a big deal out of anything; she’s calm and easy-going. She’s the kind of person who will say something to a bully and when it’s over, not say anything else.
Unfortunately, Nastya’s not very social either. Which is a shame, because she could easily make peace and balance any friendship group. She will smile at people, but doesn’t have the nerve to actually start a friendship.
She’s also a very blunt person. This stemmed from her strong opinions, and her need to defend her unpopular ones. This is actually how she drives bullies away; pointing out that their actions are petty and they are only bullying to be “cool” or “fit in.” Some people do not appreciate this trait of hers, but Nastya never intends to hurt anyone.
Nastya is very hard-working; she’s lived on a farm her whole life and knows that it pays off. She’s also patient, and knows everything will happen in its own time: Whether it be the crops ripening or a bully getting their comeuppance, it all will happen some time or another.
If Nastya actually gets through her shyness, you will see she is a very trusting person (maybe too trusting). She will immediately regard you as a close friend, and will spill out all her emotions to you. She will spill secrets, though, as she never keeps those to herself anyway, even if someone asked her to keep it between her and them.
The thing is, she trusts people too much and is deeply hurt if someone proves untrustworthy. She keeps her emotions inside of her. She tries to be strong. She tries not to let people manipulate her. She tries to not let people make her depressed or angry. She really tries.
Appearance: Nastya is a bit of a plain-looking person. She has very light brown hair that looks ***** blonde in the sun, which she holds in a fishtail braid. She lets it down on occasion, and when she does that she puts a kerchief on her head (and to church). Her eyes are a light, quiet blue. She has light tan skin from being outside so much. Her face is rather round, and her chin is not pointy. Nastya is lean, and although she does not look it, she is pretty strong. Her stature is pretty average as well.
Clothes: Around the house and while working on the farm, Nastya wears denim overalls with a plain shirt (varying in color) under it. She likes to go barefoot, but is fine with wearing some sort of boots. In public, she will wear a knee-length dress of a cool color such as blue and slip-on shoes. Although she isn’t very fancy, she does have a pretty white traditional Ukrainian dress just in case. It has pretty red, yellow and orange flowers woven in the design, and also has some brown, black, and green.
She does have her ears pierced, but prefers to wear earrings only on special occasions.
Color of Magic: Nastya does not believe she has magic.
Magical Abilities: See above. She is not entirely sure if she has magic, but knows it is extremely unlikely. In other words, she has not unlocked it if she has it.
Other Talent(s): Nastya is, in fact, very good at writing short stories and Ukrainian “folktales” (which are really just fables made up by her that are in the style of classics). However, she has never shared this passion with anyone, and hides all her sheets. She’s also good at drawing landscapes and animals, as well as good with the actual real-life animals.
Flaw(s): Nastya is very easily manipulated. She trusts people too easily, and will let someone hurt her multiple times. She doesn’t let her feelings out a lot. She tries not to let people manipulate her, but she’s not as emotionally strong as she wishes she were.
Nastya also has many unpopular opinions, and defends them unwaveringly. Add her bluntness to this, and she can unintentionally make people upset or angry. She doesn’t know what she did wrong, and this leads to the result of the flaw above.
Her bluntness affects potential friendships, and this again leads to the first flaw.
Backstory: Nastya lived a pretty normal life. She grew up speaking both English and Ukrainian, as her culture was slowly fading and more people were speaking English, but her family was working to stop that. She worked on the farm, went to school, and wrote in her free time. She went to church most Sundays. There wasn’t anything different about Nastya; she pretty much blended in. Sure, she lived on one of the only farms in Capricorn, but that had to be it.
Other: Nastya’s religion is Eastern Orthodox, so that’s why she wears her head kerchief to church. She is also fluent in English and Ukrainian, but speaks and writes Ukrainian at home, so she sometimes slips up at school and ends up speaking Ukrainian at school where it is required to speak English if able to. She also knows a little Russian.
Sounds great, I’ll get to it! It may take a bit though, as school is starting for me tomorrow, and I have soccer 4 times a week, but I’ll try to make it soon!
Sorry this took a while! I had homework )-:
Anyway, here it is!!
Name: Martha Tern
Personality: Martha is very smart and clever, she’s rude to most people, she can act courageous, and she is only kind to friends and family (not very many friends.)
Flaws: She is bitter when she is frustrated, very sarcastic at times, and she lies to her friends (only to protect them, she claims,) at times.
Appearance: Martha is caramel colored, with sea green eyes and chocolate brown hair, 5’4″, lean, and a prominent nose.
Year: Primary – 7
Academy – 1
Color of Magic: Hot pink
Magical Abilities: She can make her paintings and sketches come to life.
Clothing: Beige hoodie, paired with paint-covered jeans, and blue sneakers. When she learns in the academy, however, she wears a baby blue tea-length dress with Mary Janes. She would wear otherwise, but she never crosses her mother.
Backstory: She discovered her magic at the young age of 7, when she was so alone without any friends or family wanting to near her. She wished for a friend, just something to come out and be with her. Coincidence enough, she painted a bunny. And do you know what that bunny did? It came to life. Jumped right out of the painting. Her bunny has never left her side since then.
