My Ranking Points
FINALLY! Sorry it took so long guys, procastination sorta took over… Anyways, here is the second POV for Meggie! @impossiblegirl , you’ll be in the next chapter, promise! But in the meantime, thanks @fairytalegirl123 for letting me use Nastya! I hope I portrayed her okay…? Any tips, comments or constructive criticism is greatly appreciated!
“Uhh…” I sighed, rubbing my sore head, the cut rough with dried blood on my forehead. Where am I? I wondered, taking in my surroundings. Grass, of the most vivid green I’ve ever seen, and the sky… it’s breathtaking. A blue so pure and clear it looked like an artist decided to make the sky his canvas, painting it in the most beautiful blue in the world. Small flowers and blades of grass tickled my legs as I slowly got up. I took a long breath. Oh, the air! Such sweet smells, the smells of pollen and nature. And for the first time in a while, I smiled. I couldn’t help it, it was all so infectious. And, somehow, I forgot all my worries and fears, all the scars on my body, all the pain. But unfortunately, that little bubble of bliss broke almost instantly.
“Over here! There, that’s her!” A small voice called in the distance. My head whipped over to a small, lean girl followed by an older woman, who looked to be of important stature. Where had they come from? And wait, where am I? My eyes scanned the horizon until they finally locked on a massive castle, standing out against the perfect sky.
“Wow…” I whispered. Five huge towers jutted up into the sky, one for each of the cities. Funny enough, the Gemini one was just plain grey, which was to be expected, since it WAS the city of nothing. But never mind that. Huge balconies spanned around the towers, colours of the cities showed off proudly. What is this place?
I was too busy marvelling at the castle that I hadn’t even noticed that the girl and her companion had arrived at my side. While the girl stood back a little, the woman rushed to my side.
“Oh sweetie, you look bad! Are you alright?” Flustered, she went on to examine me. When she reached to touch me, I flinched, memories of hands gripping me, hitting my skin with brutal force causing me to fall to the ground. That or just my natural clumsiness, it was hard to tell. A perplexed frown painted itself on the woman’s face, and she extended her hand to help me up.
“You okay down there? Oh, but how silly of me, I forgot to introduce myself! I am Dean Lydia, the Dean of Pisces. And you are?”
Pisces?! I had made it? My jaw dropped. I couldn’t believe it.
“Uh…I-I’m M-M-Meggie B-Bluebird… ma’am.” I stuttered, keeping my gaze lowered toward the grass.
“Well, my dear Meggie, lets get you cleaned up, shall we? After all, that cut on your forehead looks pretty bad, don’t you think?” She gave me a sweet smile. All I could manage was a stiff nod, for I was terrified, and we walked to the castle.
The huge wooden and steel doors opened to the grand hall of Pisces, complete with everything from gold chandeliers to huge spiralling staircases. It was enormous. The walls stretched to what looked like hundreds of meters high, with the beginnings of murals started by the students of Virgo, of course. The floor was made from a beautiful marble, and the grand stairwells had gold rails that glowed with light. It took my breath away, really. We stepped inside, and that’s when I noticed the students. They were all staring at us. Or rather, at me. I looked down, and noticed my hands were also caked with blood. Whisps of conversations caught my ear:
“That’s the girl Nastya found in the clearing!”
“What’s wrong with her?”
“I heard she’s from Gemini…”
“What? But we haven’t had a student from Gemini in years!”
“Do you think she killed someone?”
“What a freak…”
The last words stung like ****. Tears pricked my eyes, but I held back. I could feel their gazes on my back, following my with their eyes as we went up the stairs and down the long hallway until we reached a door marked “Infirmary”. Dean Lydia opened the doors, a warm smile planted on her face.
“Now Meggie, I must attend to some other business, but I’ve asked Nastya here to keep you company while you get patched up. So take your time, and we’ll talk later, alright?” She ushered us in, and closed the door. It was silent for a bit, then Nastya looked at me, studying me. I looked away, uneasy. I sneaked a quick look at her. Nastya was a pretty average girl, with tanned skin, quiet blue eyes and light brown hair kept in a fishtail braid sneaking down her back. She looked pretty lean and fit, but not so much that it was obvious. But I’m pretty good at noticing details.
“I’ll go get the nurse,” breaking the silence, Nastya walked away to search for the nurse. I took the opportunity to lay down on one of the beds, and the soft mattresses knocked me out immediately.
About an hour later, I found myself wandering the halls to discover the different settings this school had to offer. There were art rooms, mini-theatres, fashion rooms, writing rooms… and many, many more. Looking at the art plastered on the walls, my eyes wandered on to a small plaque with the words “music room”. My curiosity took over, and I opened the door, peering inside the room. My heart beat faster as I saw what was in there. A fully equipped recording room. Like in a sort of trance, I entered the room and started walking towards it. There, on the desk, was sheet music. The title on it read: “Praying” by Kesha ( https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=v-Dur3uXXCQ ) . I smiled a little. My mom used to sing this song to me, before the incident. I don’t know what came over me, but I threw the headphones over my head, turned on the microphone and sung, tears streaming down my cheeks as I hit every note, thinking of her. Only her.
Great job! I’ll go next. Will Meggie be back in the Infirmary?
Thanks! And umm… you could start you POV there if you would like, or you could start it when Nastya finds Meggie in the clearing, but she’s all done at the infirmary
P.S: Gemini doesn’t have a tower… Didn’t really mention that. They don’t. Their students sort of take this mini-quiz to see which city they belong in on the first day. If they just aren’t too good at anything or are good at a few things, they just get put with the Leo Students because they don’t have a problem with that, unlike, say Virgo.
Yeah.. and the part “we haven’t had a gemini in years!”
I think they have geminis come every year.
Otherwise, this writing is much better than mine!
and by the way, my character is also collaborating with you guys!!
@fairytalegirl123 that sounds perfect! And sorry it was o short, I’m not exactly patient, so writing long chapters is a little hard for me…
Yeah, having them be short is fine! (A lot of times, when I work on group RPs, I P.O.V. on the fly without a plan, so my chapters are shorter.) I can remember, towards the end of my last group RP, Eternally Immortal, some of my P.O.Vs were really short because I was unsure of myself. Now that I’m doing a solo story, though, my chapters are really long compared to some other stuff I’ve written because of how much time I’m spending on it…
