My Ranking Points
WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
I know this is probably going to sound really crazy or stupid (don’t read books till five am kids)
But here it is: I think Japheth and Aric are half brothers, and Rafal is their father.
in the storian’s chapter, (Altar and Grail)
Sophie and Japheth get married, and the ‘last ring’ is burned. Excalibur returns to the sword, revealing Arthur’s true test, where a brother will lose his head. Sophie is being controlled by those creepy triplets, and (drumroll please) Tedros learns that Japheth isn’t his brother at all. (Note: only Tedros and Japheth know that as of now, because the scim only told Tedros.)
Evidence to support my hypothesis:
– lady lesso was apparently ‘afraid’ of Aric’s father, and would never bring him up. She was trapped in the school, so if she brought up the school master he would definitely find out, and the school master could kill all of them pretty easily.
Though Japheth and Rhian are apparently ‘twins’ they don’t know anything about their birth. Japheth is also older, which is almost a fact at this point.
– in ACOT, Rhian says an important line to Japheth; “Siding with him over me. Like he was your brother. Or more than a brother—“ Foreshadowing?
– they both have light eyes, and basically no soul. Japheth has blue eyes, and Aric has violet eyes (from lady lesso, but that’s not the point.)
-Evelyn sader was infatuated with Rafal. She named her kids after the school masters (possibly) Rhian was the good school master’s name (as we well know) and Rafal was the name of the evil school master. why did the dean call Japheth “RJ”? It was a shortened version of his name. But Japheth has no “R” in his name, and Rhian was barely friends with him. So where could the R come from, if not his father?
– Rhian is still Arthur’s son. Japheth could have said “We’re not.” When answering Tedros’ question, even though Rhian is dead, but he only mentioned himself. This may just be more fitting and sound more pleasant, but I think that it might be a hint at the fact they are only half siblings.
That’s all. I should probably go to sleep now, (even though it’s already morning) so au revoir my friends.
I forgot the part about Aric seeming privileged in book 3. He got bigger, and better roles in Rafal’s school. He was a strong unit, but he got significantly more authority over the students, and lead classes. Not to mention his promotion to dean, which was pretty random. Rafal also could have put lady lesso with the good teachers, but instead, he left her with the evil teachers above ground even though her loyalties to him were questionable.
I think that’s it? Feel free to add anything I’ve missed.
