My Ranking Points
It was the day before the Circus of Talents.
All boys had asked except two.
Ares and Zane.
And now, here Ares was, beautiful sweet Ares, asking me. My heart froze like a glacier.
Then I knew, I knew what I’d known since the beginning and what would have to be done.
His face melted to pure serenity as he picked me up, lifted me out, spun me around and smiled. Then, setting me down, he said.
“I’ll see you tonight.”
And he seemed to float away. Hollie was watching slack-jawed. “WOW! JEEZ! IS IT HOT IN HERE OR IS IT JUST ME?” I punched her. Then we went to get ready for all-out training for our talents.
We all noticed, you bet we all did. But the teachers didn’t speak.
We were all blindfolded and turned into pale purple apples, the princes would walk around and pick from one from a tree, there was still one boy who hadn’t proposed. And that was Zane. I squeezed my eyes shut from my tree and waited… then opened them just in time to see hands cup me. Those hands opened to Zane’s strawberry-blonde curls and shimmering green eyes. He dropped me and I morphed back and landed on the ground with a painful thud. Skittering away, Ares stopped reaching for an apple and we all stared at each other.
Class ended, wolves howled, I went flying into the bustling crowd of girls. I heard a voice call my name but I went all the way to the lunchroom and hid under a table until the flocks of students were gone.
But then we were all, mysteriously sent to our rooms. Me and Hollie waited in silence, it seemed the whole school was smothered in quiet. Then a sheet of silver paper went under our door and I think me and Hollie had a footrace to get it.
I got first and started reading, my eyes zooming across the page.
Dear Students of Both Schools,
There has been an unfortunate accident and the Circus of Talents won’t be happening. You will spend today with no classes neither practice, dinner will be sent to your rooms.
Hollie’s eyes were as wide as gumballs, “BUT I THOUGHT TEACHERS WEREN’T ABLE TO SEE THE CIRCUS OF TALENTS?!” she shrieked, then she threw the paper down.
But I’d relied on the Circus to give me a good distraction. Now the only thing in my mind was the dance and Ares.
The end (for now)
part one is called the day after the date yeaaaa I’m really unorganized 😐
