Does anyone else feel like the School Master really did love Sophie? I mean I should probably reread the book but…….
He liked that she was Evil, but he didn’t really love her–he was mostly just using her Evilness for his own purposes.
He had to to bring himself back to life, it has to go both ways remember 🙂
Rafal didn’t love every part of Sophie for who she is. He really really liked her Evilness and stuff, but he didn’t really love Sophie’s entire personality—the Evil parts AND the Good parts and everything in between. He saw how Evil she could be and he wanted to use that. Sophie, meanwhile, was absolutely desperate for love and to not be alone, and in that state she was willing-to bring him back to life just so she would have somepony to “love” her, especially since what he claimed to “love” was the Evil parts of her. Neither of them really loved each other, no matter what they said or did.
I think he did love her, but at the same time I don’t. I mean he could have been just using Sophie to stay young forever and make evil victorious in every story. But on the other hand, he could have loved her and was tired of seeing lonely villians living and solitude, and wanted to start Never After. I just don’t know why Evers and Nevers can’t have true love.
