Closer to four months, actually. I doubt anyone here will have Paul Feig’s email, as he doesn’t just give it out to nobodies on the Internet.
If anybody did find it and you decided to send it to him I wanted to say, I’m nit trying to be rude it was an amazing letter, but instead of saying ‘short video of us reading a few lines’ you could say a “demo reel’ as it sounds more professional and is essentially the same thing.

hmmm, i think you can find his business email online, but i’m sure he knows how sad everyone would be if there wasn’t open casting. you could also email the casting director, but i wouldn’t want to bother her, since she probably get’s like 500 emails a day about it. 🙂

I think it should really be up to Soman since he’s the author
he’s not involved in the process anymore. He said himself that he’s leaving it up to the people working on the movie. I think if we have a chance with anyone it’s Jun because he’s the official spokesperson
we can send 60 second videos and write our name and age at the bottom. if a casting director is interested they can look at headshots and resume. a select few can then go to in person callbacks. and they should give us a script (side) to memorize for the video

For all we know they could be looking for the teachers first! And yeah, no one spam Soman because he mentioned that he’s not involved in the process. I think his exact words were that he just wants to sit back and watch the process unfold. So, I don’t think he knows many details, and even if he did I don’t think he’d share it.

yeah, they’re first going to look at professional casting. they’re going to get a good idea at what type of actors they want. They’ll start open casting later on

Normally, movies take about two months to film
But you then will have to edit it and give it special effects because well, there is magic in it.
Well, yes, but to get the raw footage, it normally takes about two months. If there is open casting, it might take longer, because there might be more inexperienced actors in the movie.
Also, if the main characters are child actors, they will have to take filming slowly due to laws preventing the actors from working too many hours a day/week.
They also have to learn the lines and spots to go to so perhaps 3 months + editing time

This is a really good idea, the only problem is that there might be a really good actor or actress who just can’t make a good quality video, like maybe they don’t have a good camera, or good lighting, or maybe their rooms are just very echoey.

That is an amazing idea is gives a chance to everyone who loves the series to audition for the character they love. And i also agree with the part where we get to vote for the like top 10 because then we would all know that it was voted on who portrayed the character the best not only because of the look.
I dont think there should be votes it think the casting director should watch the videos and narrow it down to 10 on their own. those who made it to the final 10 will get in person callbacks
The I think they should base it on their acting skills, age and looks. First priority is acting and then age since if you have tan skin and you wanna be Agatha then makeup will do the trick.
