My Ranking Points
Hello everyone! For the umpteen time, I’m awfully sorry I haven’t been on in ages. The demands of school, extracurriculars, and my own personal sanity have overridden my time to sit and write, and it isn’t fair for me to tell you I’ll write when I know I won’t. Because of this, I’ve decided to take a temporary break from the role play. With your permission, I’d love to still visit every once in a while just to read and comment on your amazing POV’s. They’re always awesome and beautiful–and I also just miss talking with you all. This way, I’ll no longer clog the forum with useless apologies as to why I haven’t uploaded a POV for weeks, but still sort of say hello every weekend or something.
I’ll try my hardest to return as soon as I regain my footing with academics and such. And if you ever want to just talk, I’d love to pop on for sleepovers whenever I can! (if they’re even still a thing? I know we mentioend starting them up again, I just don’t remember if that actually happened.) 😀
But enough with all that stuff, how are you? Anything new happening here or in your own lives? I read this amazing new book byy Tahereh Mafi called “Furthermore” when it came out a few weeks ago, have any of you? I’ve also FINALLY gotten permission from my parents to get an Instagram and a Twitter account, so if any of you feel comfortable with me giving you my account name, say so!
Thank you all for being such lovely people and I hope you understand and are okay this. 😀
Hey Ellie! You’re always welcome here 🙂
I’ve been meaning to read Futhermore for a while, but I’ve never really gotten around to it. On the bright side, I finally read Fangirl and Carry On!
I’m still not allowed an Instagram or Twitter, but I finally got a Goodreads account!
OH MY GOODNESS THOSE ARE GENUINELY SOME OF MY FAVORITE BOOKS EVER. Rainbow Rowell is just a writing goddess in general. Speaking of which, since I know you enjoyed Eleanor and Park, Mrs. Rowell posted this link the other day for Banned Book Week I thought you might like: http://www.rainbowrowell.com/news/2016/9/22/can-you-help-defend-eleanor-park-from-censorship.
*cough my goodreads account may be Ellie-The-Book-Nerd cough*
I saw her post! I’m going to write an email 🙂
*quietly adds you as a friend*
OH MY GOD, YOU READ AN EMBER IN THE ASHES? I’M ALMOST DONE WITH THE SECOND BOOK! 😀
@sherlock OH MY GODS YES I LOVED IT. A Torch Against the Night came out the same day as Furthermore, which I’m sure you already know, so I could only get one book. I still need to grab it somewhere! HOW IS IT?
IT’S REALLY GOOD! I must ask: who’s your favorite character? Because if you dislike Helene, I’m afraid we can’t be friends anymore 😉
@sherlock HELENE WAS AMAZING BUT GODS SHE MADE ME FEEL SO MANY CONFLICTING EMOTIONS. I really need to skim over that last half before I start the sequel.
HELENE IS LIKE, THE ONLY GOOD CHARACTER IN THE WHOLE GOSHDARN BOOK AND I WANT HER TO BE MY WIFE
I mean, Helene is a strong character who would totally kick everybody’s asses in the Hunger Games 🙂
@sherlock OH GODS. XD
She would ABSOLUTELY though, and without even having to really try.
Ellie! We miss you! Don’t worry, I understand that school can be very demanding. We’ll miss your wonderful writing, but school and everything comes first. Please come and talk whenever you can, we haven’t had a sleepover in ages, but we could always start them up again 😉 I haven’t read that book, but I’ll look out for it!
I have Instagram, but I’ll probably have to check if it’s alright to share my account with others, but I’d love to be able to follow/speak to you on there 🙂
Thanks for understanding! My gosh you all are just so kind and lovely. Hm, it would be fun to start sleepovers up again! Maybe we could set a designated time like Saturday nights or every other Tuseday afternoon where people can just chat and play games or something like that. Oh– and the book is AMAZING. I highly recommend it.
Okay! If you end up getting permission, just tell me so I can share it with you and then delete my comment. 🙂
Yes, although we’d need to make sure it would be at a time people can do (By which I mean I’m the awkward one with the awkward timezone compared to the majority of people on this forum)
I asked my parents, I think they’re okay with it, but I think they’d prefer it if I wait a little longer (but if I’m able to convince them that you aren’t creepy old people wanting to steal my identity then it should be fine 😉 ) Hopefully they’ll be okay with it soon, I’d love to keep in touch with you (and everyone else on the forum!)
@em94 That’s an excellent point! So if we end up actually planning one, it’d be best to choose a day on the weekend so it wouldn’t interfere with school hours.
(If it helps at all with the “creepy-old-stalker-man-on-the-internet” thing, I was in an episode of EverNeverTV! I’m pretty sure few others like Opal were also. Good luck, though! It felt like it took me forever to even get permission to have an account from my rather strict parents. :D)
Yes, perhaps a Saturday afternoon/evening for you guys (I can afford to stay up later on Saturdays as I don’t have school the next day). I don’t know, we’d need to plan it with the rest of the forum! And yes, I remember that episode, you were very good in it (also you’re so pretty!). My parents aren’t strict as such, they just want to be certain first. They’re fine having my brother have his Internet friends on social media, but only after a while! Hopefully it won’t be too long until they agree to it!
I don’t have Twitter or Instagram because I’m not allowed 🙁
Don’t worry, I wasn’t allowed one either for the longest time. Anyway, from what I’ve seen of it so far, I still find this website to be a much better way to connect with others. XD
Aww, we always love to have you here! 🙂 It’ll probably make my day for you to stop by. School’s been ******* everyone, especially if you’re past the age of “hey kids” and into “GET IT DONE ***** YOU AND YOUR RELAXATION.”
What’s an internet sleepover? I have a sort of idea, but I’ve never actually been on one.
Not much has happened here, I guess. Personally, I’ve started flute. I actually haven’t heard of Furthermore, and I’ll try to read it if I get the chance to go to the bookstore
Aw, thank you so much! Talking to you always makes my day as well. 😀
Ugh, I understand the feeling. For instance, my teachers this year are determined to practically send my grade on TREASURE HUNTS to find our homework. Is it posted here? There? No where? Oh wait–she just didn’t post it until 10:32 last night. AH!
The sleepovers are pretty self-explanatory like you mentioned. Basically, we pick a day and everyone who can comes on and we all just talk and chit-chat. We’ve also had some super fun games of truth or dare occur, and JoAnn even joined in once or twice! It was a really nice time to just calm down at night and talk with friends. 😀
WooOOooOo, that sounds fun
(*im totally not a backup account*)
I’m facing the same problem—I kinda fell into high school rather abruptly after doing nothing all summer. Add performances of my play, debate club, and a number of other things to the mix and I’ve ended up taking a sort of unofficial hiatus from RPing. Also, sleepovers sound fun!! Friday evenings would work well for me.
I don’t have a goodreads (I feel like it would align with my interests, though, so I should get one) or an instagram (some of my friends have instagram and terrify me by letting it — and boys — consume their lives) but I do have a twitter!! (which I use almost purely for following various authors). My account has my full name, so tag me in a post and I’ll give you it, then delete the post.
Aw, I’m so sorry about that. Ugh, I have a few friends who have officially turned “boy-crazy” this year, too. It’s upsetting, but I hope the phase passes quickly.
Okay, I tagged you!
Also, I’m not sure if you remember me, but welcome back! I’m that weird girl who constantly goes on and off this forum.
Thank you, and OF COURSE I do! You’re a fantastic writer, and I vividly remember reading your POV’s. 😀
