My Ranking Points
Hello everyone! I decided to write a second chapter for my story… tale…thing…whatever. Read chapter 1 here: @emanresu1234. WARNING: minor spoiler for The last Ever After (S.G.E. book 3). Once again, a big thanks to @iceprinces and @iceflower322. Their characters are amazing. Also, I NEED YOUR CRITIQUES!!! Please don’t hesitate to point out ANY MISTAKES. With that out of the way, let’s begin the story!
Elizabeth’s first two months at school involved six bird fights, two crazy roommates, and one boy. Dash and Song usually got into a fight once a week, but the two birds had been relatively calm the past few weeks. This was a huge relief to their owners. While Dash and Song found it difficult to put their differences aside, the three girls of room 33 did not. Addie, Sky, and Elizabeth became fast friends. They would always sit together at lunch, listen to each others stories, and make each other laugh. Addie and Sky had even started calling Elizabeth, ‘Beth’. The girls still got into little arguments from time to time. Addie sometimes thought that Sky was a slob. Elizabeth found it annoying that Addie was very forgetful. Sky thought that Elizabeth worried about homework too much. At the end of the day, they were still friends.
Elizabeth loved almost all of her classes (she excelled in most of them too), but ‘Beautification’ was an issue. While Elizabeth never failed in this class, she never really succeeded either. She always got a rank between 12 and 9. Of course, Professor Anemone was disappointed in her.
“You have so much potential!” she would say. “You’re letting all of your beauty go to waste!” Elizabeth usually tuned her out. Sky cared about Beautification even less than Elizabeth. Somehow, Sky never failed. Unlike her roommates, Addie enjoyed Beautification and usually got a rank between 1 and 5.
A few days later, Elizabeth, Sky, and Addie walked out of Princess Etiquette class, feeling more bored than usual.
“We should probably check on the birds.” Said Sky.
“Good idea. Who knows how long this peace will last.” Addie replied.
“I’ll just wait here until you guys get back.” Elizabeth said. So Elizabeth stood there while her friends rushed to make sure that their birds had not killed each other. Elizabeth saw a test sticking out of one of her books. She hadn’t seen the grade yet. She pulled the paper out and looked at the score. “Nine out of ten?” she thought. “Come on Elizabeth, you can do better than that!” Just then, someone bumped into her, causing her to drop all of her books.
“Hey, watch it!” Elizabeth warned.
“I am so sorry!” said a boys voice. Elizabeth turned around to see the boy that had bumped into her. He had tan skin, curly black hair, and hazel colored eyes. Elizabeth could’ve sworn that her heart had stopped for a second.
“I’m Isaiah.” he said as he flashed a smile at her. “What’s your name?”
“Elizabeth.” she replied. Isaiah helped her pick her books off of the floor.
“Well it was nice bumping into you, Elizabeth.” said Isaiah. Elizabeth tried to think of something to say, but it was like her brain wasn’t functioning properly. It didn’t matter though, Isaiah was already gone.
Addie noticed something different about Elizabeth. She was trying to figure it out at lunch one day, when she saw Elizabeth sneaking glances at someone across from where the girls were eating. Addie traced Elizabeth’s stare to a boy that she had never seen before. A sly grin spread across Addie’s face.
“Why are you smiling?” Sky asked, her mouth still full of food.
“Oh, no reason.” Addie answered mischievously. “It’s just that Beth’s got a boyfriend.”
“What?” Elizabeth exclaimed, snapping out of her stupor. “I do not!” Unfortunately, Sky caught on to Addie’s little game.
“Oh look, she’s blushing!” Sky teased.
“I do not have a boyfriend! Isaiah and I just bumped into each oth-”
“Oh, so his name is Isaiah?” Addie questioned. Addie and Sky shared a look.
“Beth and Isaiah sittin’ in a tree, K-I-S-S-”
“Oh come on!” Elizabeth protested. Both Sky and Addie started laughing their heads off.
“This isn’t funny!” Elizabeth complained. Of course, this just made Addie and Sky laugh even harder. Eventually, Elizabeth started laughing too.
Later that evening, Elizabeth went to talk to Professor Dovey about a homework assignment. Even with slippers on, Elizabeth’s feet were still freezing. When she got to Professor Dovey’s office, she noticed that the door was cracked open. Elizabeth was about to knock when she heard Professor Dovey talking to someone.
“I just can’t believe this has happened.” said Professor Dovey. Elizabeth stopped to listen.
“Really?” the voice of a woman that Elizabeth didn’t recognize asked. “You have to put up with me on a daily basis, and this is what concerns you?”
“Yes, it is!” Professor Dovey snapped. ” It’s not everyday that two students go missing!”
“Clarissa, it’s just two students. I’m sure we’ll find them.” the unknown woman said.
“I suppose you’re right, Sophie.” Said Professor Dovey in a softer voice.
“And yet, you’re still worried.” Sophie pointed out.
“Yes, I am.” Professor Dovey said in a hushed voice. The fairies found a third student this morning.”
“A third missing student? I don’t see the problem if they were found.”
“The problem, is that the student was found dead.” Elizabeth dropped her book in shock. The conversation between the two deans came to an abrupt halt. Professor Dovey opened the door and looked into the dark hallway. Nobody was there.
Okay, so that was it! I’m sorry if it was too long and I completely understand if you skimmed through it. Please remember to leave any critiques, criticism, or advice in the comments, and thank you for reading!
I can’t think of any critisicm, it was pretty perfect! The grammar was flawless, there was an interesting plot and I was excited to read on. 😀
