My Ranking Points
Thief was filled with a sad rage against all Evers, even an idiot like Vent could tell that.
Emotions, there are so many that could course through a person’s head at once. The strongest emotions are the easiest for Rick to manipulate because those are the ones that people blindly follow. That is when he slips in minor messages in their head so they can do his bidding.
Now his top classmate is going through emotional turmoil. She was so eager to foolishly follow any thought put in her head. Yes, Thief is normally smarter than that, but even the smartest fall to emotion. It is so perfect pulling all the strings.
The only down fall about Rick’s talent, though, is that it is not visible. He could not show it off no matter what he does.
Whatever, he finds just as much satisfaction annoying Vent Mistic. Although it is rather irritating that Vent has been acting a bit more idiotic than normal. It is that girl; Tally, Thief’s Roommate. The fact that he has been talking to her more than Rick just infuriates him.
Today was one of those days. He found them eating lunch in the middle of the clearing.
“Hey Vent,” Rick said trying to ignore the pest.
Vent cringed at the sound of his voice, it brought a slight smirk to his face. Vent being ranked third for evil was quiet intimidating, so it was extremely fun for Rick to have him lose his cool.
Tally, being the weird Never she was looked at Rick and then said, “You’re jealous.”
Rick froze, jealously was a wonderful emotion to control, but why did she think he was. He was about to ask her to explain herself, but before that was possible an Ever boy came and asked to talk to her.
Rick ****** his hands, him jealous, the nerve. He looked at Vent who had slight frustration painted on his face. Rick knew Vent was jealous and it hurt him a bit, no matter.
“She will never see you again,” Rick placed the words in Vents head. Vent’s eyebrows bent downward as he got up and walked Tally and the Ever boy’s direction.
Rick can control Vent, but he didn’t like it.
“Are you going anywhere for Winter break?” the girl asked Eric.
Eric looked into the darkness trying to see the girl who visited him in the tunnels. He never saw her yet he always tried.
“Home,” he laughed in disbelief. It felt like his inter soul was in those words. He would see his sister Iris again. He could be her older brother. He wouldn’t be the kid at the bottom, the weakling, or the forgotten. It will be his last chance to be him before he becomes a crow. He touched his mask, it reminded him of all this hope.
“Me too,” the girl laughed. Eric then felt a tinge of sadness, over break he wouldn’t be able to talk to her.
He took of his mask for a breath.
After a bit a silence, the girl took an opportunity to sing.
“Come home, oh lost one,
You’re not forgotten here,
No matter, who is your family.
Here is where you can dry all your tears,
And sleep ever so calmly.”
