My Ranking Points
Hey for a project at school, we have to make a utopian* World.
What should the education be like?
*this is a futuristic ‘perfect’ world were everything is controlled and the government pretty much decides who you marry, what your job is going to be, etc.
Uniforms. Add uniforms. And hair styles, when in class, all students must put their hands behind their back. Their notes can only be taken in black ball point pens, NO HIGHLIGHTERS. All students must wear ties, for girls, their hair has to be shoulder length. No skirts or dresses. Absolutely no fictional books.
wait the world you’re describing Audrey could easily be portrayed as bad, aka dystopian
did you teacher specifically say utopian?
Yeah it’s gonna be hard Gwen
They want us to write like at least 8 sentences for each section and 12 slides (sections). And, me being me, I have to write a ton so yeah. They made us start today (we had a sub too (also, we had no idea this was happened, they just told us about it today)), and it’s due today…
So, we had an hour and 40 minutes to finish a big project.
I was gone for over half of it, due to the honors assembly being at that time.
Thankfully I have read a couple utopian based books, so I have a good idea of what I’m going to do.
But yeah I’m hecka far behind.
Here’s what I have done so far… https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1fUMbPJWpiFZM-Fzx4X05ninVr4vUNyVjFz7AmgGYvXM
I saw it. Maybe it’s mandatory to have a 4-floor house, and you can spend only 10 years with your family, and NO PETS, and get an assigned job the goverment forces you to do.
I am getting a dystopian vibe from the seperation of children when they are eight years old…
Basically, I read The Giver recently which is like a utopian world. And they have everything be the same. They don’t even see color because color is too diffferent. They don’t have cars, (they bike) everyday is perfectly sunny, all bad memories are ALWAYS erased. Etc. lol
It’s funny, because this project is based on the giver
We just finished reading it in class
Gwen, it’s the typical utopian, but Jonas doesn’t think it is.
Oh my goodness we’re talking about The Gover now. I LOVE the Giver! (But it is ten times better when your read the next three books; Gathering Blue, Messenger, and Son.)
