Chapter 3: Take Another Round/Deception Tool
My eyes twinkled as I took Garnet’s hand. I looked around and silence commenced as everyone stared. For once I didn’t even care. This tropical air and with all these people. All of these memories are going away. I can let this guilt be lifted from me.
I turned to Garnet as she motioned me towards her.
“So you new here? You’ll fit in perfectly mate!” Garnet exclaimed.
“We’re all family here! So just tell me what you’re ability transfusion is and you’re intentions will be fine here Fait!” She remarked.
I sweatdropped. “Uh… It’s Faith. And what do you mean? Ability Transfusion? What’s that?” I asked.
I felt my hand start to burn. Garnet snarled at me. “You better hope I didn’t catch that because up in Texas, things don’t go by that easily! I’m a home girl y’know!”
I shrieked in pain. I distanced myself from Garnet and started to run. Why? I ask myself, as tears start to stream down my cheeks. I’m always back to the start. I’m going in circles starting right where I was.
I can’t help but ask myself when will I stop running? I run from my destiny, from my future. I duck as a boomerang comes flying towards me.
“A boomerang always comes back, mate!” Garnet voice echoed through my head.
I thought I finally had a second to breathe. I wheezed as the boomerang hit me in the back of my head. Making me fall in what felt like a thousand feet.
I never thought I am so close to death twice. Blood trickled down my chin and that’s when I felt a thud.
“Ugh.” My eyes screamed open.
W-what is this?! My thoughts screamed at me.
T-this p-position?! “Who are you?” Asked a perplexed guy with the boldest shade of gold.
I fell into his lap. My face flushed 30 shades of red. He smirked at my flustered state. He then stared at me with a wild expression and I stared with just the same intent.
The guy grabbed my arm and we were heading in the direction of Garnet. My eyes went as wide as saucers and I planted my feet on the ground to make him stop.
The boy gave me a questioning look. I stared at him, questioning myself. Can I trust this guy? After Garnet and those people, I don’t know who I can trust. I mean, why’d he take my hand, it doesn’t make any sense. There’s only one thing I can do…
I looked over at the guy who was still confused. Now you may be wondering what could make this so medieval, but the question I asked, may have changed the way I viewed the world for the better.
“Who are you? Can I trust you and What in the heck is this place?!”
