My Ranking Points
*Hey guys! Sorry that it has been a whole week since I’ve posted Chapter 1, so here you go! BTW it’s shorter*
Chapter 2 (Avis POV)
When Avis woke up , she wasn’t in her bed. Scratch that, she wasn’t in any world she knew. It took her a second to remember who she was.
She stood up quickly, but black spots danced across her vision.
She fell back down. She waited.
She seemed to be on a narrow bridge that faded into shadow on one end. Avis turned around and saw a faint light. Oh stars, she thought, I must be dead. She tried to crawl towards the light (If this is how it ends, I am going to end it there, she thought). She was stopped abruptly when she crashed into an invisible barrier.
Avis was starting to lose hope. It was getting dark, so the stars were her only source of light.
She attempted to stand one last time, but her legs gave way beneath her. Her voice came out as a raspy whisper when she tried to call out. She tucked her arms around her knees and began to sing softly. Her mother had sang that lullaby to her every night until Avis told her bluntly that she was old enough to tuck herself in.
She regretted it now. She hadn’t known about the dreams then.
She started to shake, for she realized how alone she was in this world.
The wolf picked up the sleeping girl. They had found her lying on the bridge, trapped inside the barriers that separated the schools.
It had taken some time to get her out. It would’ve taken less if those God-forsaken fairies had lifted just one finger to help, but the fairies refused to touch the girl.
It didn’t matter anyway; because the two beings hated each other.
The stymphs were trained to deliver the students in or near the school itself, but this stymph hadn’t.
The wolf snorted. It wasn’t his job to figure out the messes that the School Master sometimes got into. It thought about what he would do after his duty was done. The wolf carried the girl through the passage marked The School for Evil.
*Let’s hope for some character development or bust!*
