Hi! Here’s Chapter 7 of Swans and Secrets! I hope you enjoy!
“He must have hexed her,” Victor muttered to himself in his dorm room, “It’s the only explanation. Kane must have hexed Elle into helping him.” He turned to Luke.
“Grace really didn’t believe you? I thought you were supposed to be best friends.”
Luke grimaced, “So did I. She accused you of using me, and then just walked away! Why can’t she see I’m trying to save her?”
Victor sighed, “I don’t know. Well, at least today’s events gave me a backup plan.”
“What is it?”
Victor gave him a mischievous smile. “I bet that Everboy that beat up Kane would help us get rid him.” Luke frowned.
“Evers don’t like Nevers. You saw what he did to Kane.”
“That’s because he’s a true Never. We, on the other hand, aren’t supposed to be here. Kane stole my spot in Good. I’m a prince, he’s the son of a witch. You’re supposed to be with your best friend.”
“Are you sure he’ll believe you?” Luke asked incredulously.
“Do you trust me?” Victor questioned.
“Yes,” Luke confirmed.
It was the middle of the night, and Victor was hiding in the shadows of the trees waiting for Basher to emerge. He had sent him a message telling the prince to meet him here. A moving figure came out of the Ever’s tunnel. Victor smiled and approached the figure.
“What do you want?” Basher said flatly.
“We both have a shared problem,” Victor said, “If we team up, we can get rid of it once and for all.”
“What are you talking about? I don’t have anything in common with a Never ****.”
“Kane,” Victor said venomously. The prince perked up, “I’m listening.”
“Do you know who I am?”
“I’m Prince Victor of Swansille, son of an Ever king. Kane stole my spot in Good! That girl who stood in front of him? That’s my cousin, Eloria! He hexed her and her friend into believing he’s Good! We need to team up to protect this school from him and his tricks before it’s too late!”
Basher’s eyes widened. “You’re telling me that he not only got into Good, but he stole your spot to get there?”
“I believe you. You do look more like a prince that an **** Never. We need to stop Kane. What can I do to help?”
Victor smiled with determination. “You can start by recruiting as many Evers as possible for our cause. The more people against him, the better our chance of getting rid of him.”
“Okay,” Basher replied, “And what will you be doing?”
“Don’t worry. I have a few tricks up my sleeve.” Basher opened his mouth to protest, but Victor stopped him. “I’ll tell you when the time comes. Until then do your job.”
Victor turned around and walked back towards Evil’s castle. What Basher couldn’t see was that a cruel smile was forming on Victor’s face.
“Stupid Ever,” Victor thought, “They’ll believe anything if you look like one of them and have the right name.”
