Am I the only one who doesn’t hate Nicola and actually likes her? Lots of people were angry at her for being so rude but tbh she has all the rights to be rude when
A- She didn’t even want to attend the SGAE and be separated from her father.
B- She kept getting kicked out from her school until she finally went to the other one.
C- Sophie Hester and Amarillo treated her horrible the first they met. They woke her from her sleep gave her 1 minute to pack up dragged her to the ship without even telling her what’s going on.
4-No one even cares about her until she showed that she can be useful.
Yet everyone hates her for being so “rude” as if you won’t be a little mad if you were in her shoes.
I agree! I hope we get more chapters from Nicola’s perspective in the next book.
I disagree with you @icouldntthinkofaname (I like your name, lol):
A- AGATHA didn’t want to attend the SGE and be separated from her mother.
B- EVERYONE in the school for good wanted to kick AGATHA out and they believed she was evil. (I don’t understand how this is a reason to excuse Nicola of her behavior)
C- Again, almost EVERYONE was rude to AGATHA when she first came to the school.
4-No one even cares about AGATHA in the first book until she proved she was really good THREE-FOURTHS THROUGH THE BOOK.
Agatha went through much more in the first book then Nicola had and she was never *as* rude as Nicola was
I don’t *hate* Nicola, but she definitely isn’t my favorite character
But, I can tell you why people hate her
Rude, Arrogant, and Conceited
Nicola was especially rude to Sophie– she thought she was smarter than Sophie
*I hope we get less chapters from Nicola’s perspective.*
There is absolutely no need to compare Agatha and Nicola at all. Agatha is 100% good and Nicola probably isn’t of course Agatha will react better then her….
“Nicola was especially rude to Sophie” As if Sophie wasn’t rude to Nicola?
“As if Sophie wasn’t rude to Nicola?”
There is absolutely no need to compare Nicola and Sophie at all. Sophie is 100% evil and Nicola is supposedly good.
Sorry, I didn’t mean to start a fight I just didn’t really like Nicola too much.
So its okay for Sophie to be rude to Nicola because she’s 100% evil but it’s not okay for Nicola to be rude to her just because she’s “good” totally unfair if you ask me…..
Nah it’s all right I enjoy doing stuff like this I find it entertaining to discus opinions between two people
So its okay for NICOLA to be rude to because she’s not 100% good but it’s not okay for AGATHA to be rude to her just because she’s 100% good totally unfair if you ask me….
And I will always like Agatha more that Nicola because she is 100% good…
And @icouldntthinkofaname I like seeing your opinion of Nicola as well. 🙂
I honestly don’t care if you like Agatha more then Nicola that isn’t what we are talking about
I like Nicola’s character: I think she has a good purpose in the story, and I have to agree with her that Sophie can be a brat sometimes (with humour). It’s Sophie that doesn’t like Nicola, just because on Nicola’s first day at SGE, she had half of Evil castle in ruins. But Nicola was just a first-year and didn’t know why she ended up at SGE or why Sophie was behaving badly towards her, so it made sense for Nicola to hate her. And then there was a Hort problem: where Nicola admired him and Sophie didn’t. Later in the book (Quest for Glory), when Nicola is met by Hort on the Igraine and starts talking (*flirting), Sophie barges in and ends with kissing Hort on the cheek, which is strange for someone who never gave their attention on Hort, let alone kiss him on the cheek!
Depends on your perspective of ‘smart’ The definition is:
the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills.
Sophie can be smarter than Nicola and Nicola can be smarter than Sophie because they have different knowledge.
