Imaginary Reality

Does anyone else have dreams
That are so lifelike it takes
Quite a while to realize what
You see, hear and sense isn’t real.

These simulations are inspired by
Past experiences blended seamlessly
With imagination. Only a few changed
Elements remind us that these worlds
And adventures don’t truly exist.

Presented before you are thoughts
And desires that inspire you.
You learn new things about yourself.
They broaden your horizons.

We remember the dreams of the past
While voyaging to new realms.
These explorations are a part of you
But they don’t seem to be real.
Sometimes it’s a relief or a regret.
