Hello! It seems like we’ll plan two New Year’s activities for the holiday party that @/dancingthroughsge suggested. Any ideas? We could host some trivia or another event, or even a food fight

ladyofthebooksge replied 4 months, 1 week ago

        also aaa @goodandevil5050

        goodandevil5050 replied 4 months, 1 week ago

Hello! Sorry- it took me a while to find this post since my mention was in the comments- New Year’s- I think Trivia is fun, and we could do it like a countdown trivia?

ladyofthebooksge replied 4 months, 1 week ago

Do you want to make a doc for the trivia?

          goodandevil5050 replied 4 months, 1 week ago

I meant like we can do it by like 10, 9, 8… And have a fact for kinda like each part of the countdown. We can make a doc if you want.

ladyofthebooksge replied 4 months, 1 week ago

Oh that makes sense, and sure!
          Here’s the doc:

          ladyofthebooksge replied 4 months ago

          Ah i understand!
For the trivia posts, should we do one a day and hide the answer as a comment in our activities? The first one to comment could get a virtual prize

        I’m good, actually. I’m going to be taking a break from here, which for some reason is terrifying me. It’s going to be an e x p e r i m e n t. I don’t know.
But y’know, Christmas is fun, holiday stuff, yay . . .
I’m getting behind on making people card though . . .
So it kind of varies from day to day.

It’s ok, and aah sorry for the late reply too… welcome back!
Wait you guys had snow? So luckyyy
For us, we didn’t do anything much but watched Klaus on Netflix with my family and I loved it. I nearly teared up a few times, and aaah now I’m just recommending it to everyone.
What kind of presents did you get?

effie replied 4 months, 1 week ago

          It’s okay.
We did! Quite a lot of snow, actually. Apparently not a lot of people on the site did, though. That’s sad.
          That sounds cool! I might watch it at some point . . . if I remember . . .
I got a book I’d been wanting, a coloring book, some clothes, and . . . I think other things but I can’t remember what they were.

I would say thick pants in cold weather. In hot weather, there’s not much you can do except suffer.

Sweater and thick pants. I hate being hot… and I find that even when I’m wearing almost nothing that I’m still hot.

True! I admit both characters had some really good moments in the films, but I think that Elsa’s mentality and character could have been more developed and the part of her childhood experiences can be more fleshed out and applied to her as an adult. 1. FANART, just like @/silver13. I rarely ever draw my own OCs or myself/friends. My sketchbook is full of Hamilton, Harry Potter, SGE, Marvel, ect.
        2. Strengths… probably my ability to draw crocodiles really really well. Yeah, I realized this recently. Weaknesses… I really need to improve my proportions and face layouts.
        3. YES.
        4. I can’t choose!

          ladyofthebooksge replied 5 months ago

Same, my sketchbook is basically 80% Percy Jackson/Riordanverse, SGE. and warrior cats stuff. Mostly Percy Jackson with some of my D&D OC stuff in the.
*is curious about your crocodile drawings*
Leg and lower body proportions are confusing. Does hips count as the torso or not? And don’t get me started on hands….aaAaa

And I did this ancient crocodile thing, Kaprosuchus, and it turned out I was really really good at drawing it (still didn’t get it back, but confident I’ll get a good mark).

Nice! Cool project. Just searched them up and Kaprosuchuses look pretty cool

        theginger replied 5 months ago

        1) I generally don’t have a favorite thing to draw. I like making meaningful art for my friends though, if that counts.
        2) Am I allowed to say all of my skills are weaknesses? I mean, I think my line art is okay..but that’s it.
        3) Gingerbread are fun to make!
        4) I love them both equally.

          ladyofthebooksge replied 5 months ago

          oranges are supremeeee
          And that counts as well!
I’m sure that you also have some more strengths, the lineart on your friend’s card is great and the layout looks great as well.
Cutting the shapes out of gingerbread are fun. And especially decorating, that’s the best part of it

        1. I like drawing people.
        2. I’m good at drawing cartoons of people without shading online but whenever I shade online, it just doesn’t look natural. I’m pretty good at shading and drawing on paper, though.

          yessssss oranges
And online shading is pretty hard, for me i have a hard time making it blend naturally. Traditional art is surprisingly easier than digital art, though it might be since I’m less used to the software.

Heads are nice to draw, and I usually fully finish the head first than draw the body and ending up making that a portrait. And cool! *is curious what that looks like* Motivation for me is quite varying, I can finish a drawing in a day if I’m very motivated than, but usually my projects take a pretty long time too.
