    Hey guys!
Hope y’all are having a good summer! Sorry that I haven’t been posting much, I’ve been busy. I’ll hopefully be posting for often.

    Erin’s POV

    Life is given to us,
we earn it by giving it.
Let the dead have the immortality of fame,
but the living the immortality of love.
Life’s errors cry for merciful beauty,
that modulate their isolation into a
    harmony with the whole.
    Life, like a child, laughs,
shaking it’s rattle of death as it runs.

I had just ended the sentence with a period when my cell door burst open without warning. This was unusual because Scorpio always tried to act like a gentlemen and knock on the door before entering to give me my daily torture.
The beatings have been worse. Scorpio was angry, I knew it. I managed to get news from the conversations of the guards or keepers right outside my doors, or the new boy that would come to feed me and clean up, I learned the my old keeper had escaped the underworld with a baby that had been born here.
Enzo was a lot more talkative than Lao. He was from Aquarius, like me, and it turns out he was in the same class as my little sister Becca before a woman shot him on his way to school. I got confused then, as Becca was going to Pisces primary school and the dorms were inside the school but I didn’t have time to ask him because it was roll call for the Keepers, a new precaution to make sure none have left.
The next day, Enzo came in again looking exasperated.
“There’s been a living girl snooping around one of the entrances to the underworld. Scorpio is very pleased,” he said and looked at me with big, dark brown eyes as if to see my reaction.
I felt pity for the girl but I didn’t say anything about the subject, instead I asked, “Any news about your murderer?” Enzo had been trying to find out who the woman was who murdered him ever since he learned how he died.
“Actually… yes,” he hesitated and took a deep breath to continue, “it was Aries.”
    “Aries?!” I exclaimed, “but she’s a deity!”
“I’ve heard rumors, rumors that an old Zodiac who was banished years ago has returned to steal Pisces’ rightful leadership of the Zodiac and several of the Zodiacs have joined this Zodiacs side against Pisces!” Enzo said in a hushed voice as he cleaned a wound on my arm.
“Whoa, Enzo.” I gaped at him.
“And that’s not all, ma’am. I’ve connected all the dots and I have realized something… everyone down here was killed or sent by a deity!” I furrowed my brow and he resumed quickly, “think about it! I was killed by Aries, you got sent down here by Virgo, L-Lao was killed because of Aquarius, and the woman in the next cell got sent here by-by…” Enzo let out a squeal of terror. He dropped his voice to a whisper again, “Ophiuchus.”
    “Who?” I said.
“He was leader of the Zodiac before Pisces,” Enzo said. “I’ve been asking around, and it all makes sense. The Zodiac have split! Evil and good, that’s what the world is about, the separation of two different people! Don’t you understand, this is the war to maintain all the peace and balance in the world while also letting bad things happen to make sure that the balance is kept safe?!”
I stared at him in disbelief.
“Listen,” he said, “I’ve got to go, I’ve already been in here five minutes over. Keep in mind what I said. Think about it. Please?”
I nodded. “Bye, Enzo.” I managed to croak. I got the feeling this would be the last time I would ever see him.
He smiled and shut the door to my cell. I heard the woman to my right scream.
My cell door flew open, awaking me from my much needed few hours of sleep. Blindingly bright white light engulfed my dark cell and I was temporarily blinded. I heard something thump onto the floor and Scorpio’s voice echo around. Then, my cell door closed. I closed my eyes. I would investigate whatever was tossed in here for me later, after I got some shut eye.
“Erin?” a feminine voice made my eyes burst open.
“Who’s there?” I asked as I looked around wildly for the speaker. “Scorpio, if that’s you playing your games on me again, I won’t play-”
“No, Erin. It’s me, Leila.” the voice replied and I saw a shape lift its head.
“Leila? Leila! Thank goodness your okay, I’ve been worried sick about how everyone else is doing and I don’t know what’s going on or why I’m down here! Oh Leila-” I tried to rush forward to wrap her in a hug but my chains reminded me that I had lost my right to move freely. Lost my freedom. “Oh Leila, you’ve got to leave now! I’ll try to get Enzo to sneak you out since you aren’t in chains and here, here’s some bread I’ve saved-”
“No. I’m not leaving without you.” Leila finally managed to get up and move towards me.
“But you’ve got to!” I cried. “You don’t know how-how cruel Scorpio can be, you must leave!”
“No! I already said I’m not leaving without you!” Leila repeated, her voice rising.
“Keep your voice down!” I hushed. “You don’t know who might be listening!”
“Of course I know who’s listening!” Leila snapped. “Guards! There are about a dozen standing outside your door! Whatever you did to get yourself here must’ve been really bad-”
“I think I know what’s going on, Leila, but I’ll only tell you if you promise to forget about me and leave-”
I nodded, my chains clunking together.
“Well then, I don’t know how to get out. Enzo would only be able to sneak one person out, not two.”
“Tell me what you know and I’ll tell you what I know,” Leila said, now standing in front of me.
I told her about what Enzo told me and she sat down, her face in her hands.
“Are you okay?” I asked cautiously.
“Yeah, yeah. Just thinking.” she sighed. After a moment or two, she spoke up again. “I think I might have figured out what’s going on.” She looked at me, and then to the right wall of our cell. “That’s Aquarius.”
    “Wait what?”
“The person in the next cell is Aquarius. Ochus is taking everyone from Pisces’ side and putting them down here. Aquarius has been missing.”
    “So who’s on Ochus’s side?”
“Scorpio.” Leila stated quickly. “That’s obvious.”
“Aries, since she killed Enzo.” a pause filled the air.
“Gemini, he’s who captured Aquarius!” when I looked confused, she explained, “he’s a shape shifter, he could’ve turned into someone she loved.”
“Fair, fair,” I said. “Virgo, since she made Drew kill me the first time.”
“Yeah, Drew. Where is Drew?” Leila questioned, her eyes twinkling in the darkness.
“How am I supposed to know? I’ve been down here the whole time!”
My eyes widened as I gasped. “I’ve been down here the whole time! Leila, I know a way out!”
    “What! No way!”
“Yeah! Now listen close, we just need a diversion.”
“Wait, so you’re saying Reme was down here and she tried to help you escape, but then you got stuck and she got through? Where is this tunnel?” Leila gasped.
“It’s behind this castle, Reme told me before Scorpio caught up with us!” I exclaimed. “But we still need that diversion.”
“We should free all the prisoners and tell them to fight and then they can escape with us.” Leila suggested.
“We can knock out a guard with my chains when he comes in to check on us.”
“Here, I have a hair pin.” Leila pulled one out of her hair and began to do the locks on my chains.
We stowed the chains behind my chair and I went down to sit in the corner while Leila looked for my prosthetic. I massaged my wrists and ankle. They had been locked up for months, maybe even a year. Who knows.
“Found it Erin.” Leila came over with what appeared to be the remains of my prosthetic leg. “I’m sorry.”
I stared down at the jumbled pieces. How was I supposed to walk? I could never escape without my leg!
I picked out the scraps and held them in my hands. I thought of the joy when I learned I’d be able to run again, when I got this, my running leg. I remembered the pride of being a childhood cancer survivor, remembered the hospital visits. I remembered the 185 shots I got at the hospital, remembered trying to walk for the first time since my surgery.
A blue light filled the room and when it recessed, I held my leg, good as new.
    “Wow, Erin.” Leila gasped.
I quickly shoved my leg into the pocket and tightened the straps.
“We can talk about my new-found powers later, we’ve got a jail break to go through with.”

OK, so I’m assuming that Reme was killed, sent down here, found Erin, tried to escape with her, and escaped, but in the process, Erin got stuck and re/captured, and right now Reme is back in wherever the **** she is not the underworld? Just double checking.

legendaryevilbandit replied 1 year, 9 months ago

Yes, because in one of your POVs, she was attacked by a Scorpion and drowned in a lake. I just assumed she died.

@legendaryevilbandit Yeah that’s cool, just checking cause I often get t=things like this wrong

        Great job!
Do you want to write their escape or should I? I don’t really have a preference.

legendaryevilbandit replied 1 year, 9 months ago

You can go ahead and write the escape if you’d like!

        fairytalegirl123 replied 1 year, 9 months ago

        Woah, nice 🙂

nadea replied 1 year, 9 months ago

This is SO cool! I really, really like this POV. I can write the next POV for Polina, Natasha, and Rose. Wait…what human form would Rose take as a Zodiac? Or would she just look like herself?

legendaryevilbandit replied 1 year, 9 months ago

I think she would look like a much grander, shinier version of her, but otherwise, I think she would look exactly like herself

nadea replied 1 year, 9 months ago

Well, she implied that Rose would be posing as the girls’ dance teacher, so I don’t know..
