My Ranking Points
Hey everyone! Yay! Rose has stuff to do now! Also, I love the fact that Rose is sticking to her exact decimal point measurements of how much progress they’ve made on the new Zodiac lineup. Anyways, tackling EVERYONE in the same post is something that would either make the post too long, too hectic, to fast-paced, all three, or would just be a pain to write. SO… I’m having Rose deal with things slower than she probably should. We’ll see if there’s repercussions on that later. Anyways, I figured it’s time Drew FREAKING WAKES UP. With that, let’s go!
POV Rose Niji
My name is Rose Niji.
I do not have a medical degree, and I have not been to nursing school. Technically speaking, it should not be legally possible for me to be working at a hospital, as a nurse or otherwise. Especially working as the nurse tending the comatose general of Gemini’s Army.
But of course, that’s not what I told the hospital management. They knew me as Lavender Roscoe, a licensed nurse in school to become a doctor and who (supposedly) had connections to the Massey family.
It was probably the most carefully woven lie I had ever told, even more so than me pretending to be a dance teacher. At least I had the qualifications for that.
Luckily, some of the other Leo(s) did have medical experience, and were fully capable of helping me keep up the act, especially when the doctors were actually around. When they weren’t, however, I was combing through the spell tomes some of the other Zodiac had given me, trying every spell possible to attempt to wake Drew.
The doctors obviously couldn’t tell, but this was no ordinary coma. From magic readings alone, one could easily tell that it had been brought about by some sort of spell or curse. Chances are that it was Ophiuchus who had done this two him. The energy surrounding him had properties that made me believe that it wasn’t Virgo’s. What was annoying me was the complexity of the spell. From the readings I had already taken, it seemed like it had been some sort of weird combination of hydrokinesis, a familiar, and forced sleep. It was also possible that there might have a bit of plague magic mixed in. Chances were that I was going to have to find the right combination of coutercurses if I had any plans to fix Drew. And we NEEDED to fix Drew.
Luckily, magic was ever-changing. These spell books were slowly adjusting to me and Vela’s presence as Zodiac, slowly adding in new spells. It was this that saved me. Right as I was nearing the end of the final book, having believed that there were no spells capable of reversing the coma, I found it.
At the back, only a few pages long but slowly materializing new ones, was a thin section that I hadn’t seen before. The title page, as with every other section, was the name of a Zodiac.
The first spell in the section was all I needed. It showed to analyze a person’s atomic makeup for inconsistencies while simultaneously making a copy of the last proper version. Using the spell, one could replace the physical form of a person with a brand new, working one, while still preserving their spirit. It was high-level time and healing magic, far beyond anything I had practiced before. But I needed to do this.
Within the hour, I had managed to draw the proper symbols around the room, and remove the life support from Drew. It was risky, but if the spell succeeded, he wouldn’t need it any more. Keeping him attached to it would add atoms to the inside of his body that weren’t supposed to be there, and would mess with the spell’s procedures.
Luckily for me, it was late into the night, and most of the hospital was empty, with the exception of the emergency room and a few of the other rooms that the doctors had said needed supervision. Thanks to my soundproofing spells I had put on the room earlier, no would be able to hear me, even if it was the middle of the day. What was important was that no one would barge in.
Carefully, I began the chant specified in the book, paying close attention to how my magic spread throughout the room. My magical energy followed the chalk lines that covered the floor, walls, and even ceiling, highlighting them in a warm, orange-gold color.
As I finished, the room flashed, suddenly full of blinding light. When it was gone, the symbols and magic circles I had used in the spell were gone, and Drew was sitting up in the hospital bed, looking very, very confused. It had gone as planned.
What didn’t go as planned was what happened next:
Drew realized he was fine and started attacking me. Of course, I flaunted my Zodiac-ness and got him to stop. After that, we managed to sneak out of the hospital through a combination of windows, climbing, and my own teleportation powers.
Around an hour after we had snuck out, we found ourselves in an empty public park, one of the few in Gemini. Even here, all the trees looked the same, the footpaths were all the regulated width, and a playground was out of the question. But the silence and plainness only helped me get to my point.
“So, Drew Massey. Are you aware of what has become of this world?”
Oof. That was long. And I wrote more than I probably should have for such a simple event. But hey, I’m trying to improve my pacing…
Anyways, hopefully the Zodiac picks up again soon. I would be SUPER happy if I could come home from school every day and get the chance to read new P.O.Vs.
Other than that, I’m still waiting for someone else for Knights & Knaves, and may or may not be brainstorming ideas for a solo story…
Ugh. Between this and trying to think up a decent fanfic plot with my friend, I’m trying too hard. But that doesn’t matter. I need to be thinking up new ideas constantly or else I loose track of EVERYTHING.
Anyways, see you all again soon! Lucia out!
Nice! I’m super glad that Drew is awake, because seriously. He was in a coma for like… *counts* a lot of chapters. I think it’s okay to assume that everyone got organized in the time between the last two chapters. I’d like Niko to stay in LA and make sure Ochus doesn’t destroy everything, since his power is best used that way. Leila’s going to try to figure out what the heck happened to the timeline by very very carefully destroying it slightly.
Very excited to see where this goes! I can see the end approaching. Best of luck to all!
Yay! Another chapter
Does anyone remember where Nastya is right now? I’m going to try to write something but I don’t remember what last happened to her.
I believe she’s also trying to find the rest of the Reincarnates and bring them back to LA.
