Harley was in his dorm messing with his magic.
“Stupid, stupid, stupid!” he yelled. It clearly wasn’t going well. His best and only friend Averdine walked in.
“You have really got to chill. I could here you from the end of malice!” she exclaimed.
“What do I care?” he said back with a scowl. He kept messing around until he got frustrated and threw a book across the room. He got up and headed towards the door, Averdine close behind him.
He opened the door and walked out just catching sight of Sealea pulling away from the wall. Already angry, he pounded the wall making her jump.
“What do you think your doing?” he asked.
Harley sent her a hard glare as she ran away. Wimp, he thought.
“Earth to mush brain, let’s go!” Averdine said hopping on his back. “I’m hungry and I’m not nice when I’m hungry.”
“Your never nice,” Harley grumbled supporting her weight on his back. They were headed for the kitchen when they passed Sealea again. He almost didn’t notice but Averdine elbowed him. He looked up confused but instantly snarled when he saw the girl again.
He watched her fall and snickered, continuing on his way. At least something has gone right today. He could feel Averdine tugging on his red and black spiked hair.
“Hey don’t touch the hair!” he said letting go of her legs and swatting her hands away.
Harley heard her say goodbye but chose not to answer and kept walking. Him and Averdine reached the kitchen and scowered the cabinets and fridge for something to eat.
She then lost the thought and started to think about improving her spells. But when she remembered she ran to her dorm to find a way to kill him.
The good thing was that she had a dorm to herself. She would have been a lot more grumpy. Sealea laughs and goes back to work.
“Hey stinkbrain,” Averdine called, “I found actual cookies!”
“Wait you mean Nevers actually have food besides slop?” Harley asked. It was rare to find anything that was, well, appealing.
“Apparently,” she replied walking over with a plate of cookies.
Harley’s eyes went from bright blue to a deep red almost instantly as Selea approached. A hatred stronger than he had ever felt rose up in him. He pulled a ratty old top hat out of nowhere and then pulled a black circle out of that, throwing it on the floor. Averdine let out a mocking smile before waving as Harley grabbed her other hand and the duo jumped into the circle. Just like that they were gone as was the circle.
“What was that?” Sealea asked still in her grumpy tone. She looked all over the floor to find out but there was nothing but *****, old boards.
“I guess the only way to find out is through the books.” She said not sad but disappointed.
She wanted to give him what he deserved so bad. And he defiantly did deserve it.
They were launched out of another rabbit hole in the lunch space which was perfect as it was almost time for lunch. Harley had a huge grin on his face.
“That never gets old,” he said.
“Speak for yourself!” Averdine spat at him. She was clutching her head as another round of throbbing shot through it. Teleporting always gave her some kind of issue.
“I got it teleporting, how did I not know it is a classic.” Sealea said as she headed to get her lunch.
But when she saw the two she just glanced at them, her fingers turned the blood red again. She was so angry she felt she would exsplode with anger.
And after a few minuets she started to scream and ran out of the lunchroom with everyone starring at her.
But by running she bumps into a mysterious boy.
“Wow. She’s mad,” Harley whispered to Averdine “that explains a lot!” Once she ran out of sight, everyone resumed their lunchtime conversations. His eyes scowered the field looking for one Ever in particular. He found the boy chatting with the most popular Evers and his ark hooked around the waist of an unbelievably pretty girl. A strong rage burned inside him.
A sensation rippled through Harley’s body. An urge. It was very strange to him and he didn’t like it but he suddenly had to find the girl who ran.
“Hey, uh, Averi, I-I gotta go,” he said. His brain seemed to have taken over.
“Oh, alright. Bye,” Averdine replied waving. He waved back and hopped into a rabbit hole.
In tears she lies on her bed. “What is wrong with me a never never cries.” Sealea says. She did’ent think she would make success in evil. She thought she would but she won’t.
But she forgets and starts thinking of the boy she bumped into. Still in tears she drew a picture of everything in flames even him.
Sealea had to do something but she did’ent know what.
Harley came up out of a hole in front of a dorm in the girls wing. He really hoped his talent didn’t fail him and knocked on the door.
Sealea walked up to her door and was still crying. She wondered who was bothering her.
Sealea opened the door to see Harley standing there. “What do you want?” She asks choking on her words. “Do you want to make fun of me?” She again choking on her words.
“I-I um,” he stuttered. He didn’t even know what he was doing here. “Who are you?” he asked. Geez that didn’t sound creepy at all. He mentally facepalm end himself.
“Um, who are your parents?” Harley asked. Then he actually noticed her red face. She had been crying. For a moment he felt sympathy, but, what was this! He was a Never. He quickly composed himself and waited for a response.
Harley was getting a bit panicky. He had never been in a situation like this before and didn’t know what to do. He actually felt…bad! He knelt down next to her and tried his best, which was really bad.
“Hey, uh, are you alright?” Stupid I’m so stupid, he though.
Where’s a girl when you actually need one, Harley thought annoyed.
“Well, don’t eavesdrop and we won’t have a problem,” he said annoyance creeping back into his voice. Hopefully this mushiness wears off.
“Great,” Harley muttered. Than the panic set in again. Thoughts swirled through his head on what he should do. Get help? Try to wake her? Maybe even…kill her? It would be a good opportunity…no. He finally got up and ran to Averdine’s dorm pounding on the door.
“It’s me. I need your help.”
Averdine got up and answered the door rubbing her eyes. Harley had woke her up from her nap.
“This had better be good or your gonna get it,” she snarled at him. Harley nodded. He couldn’t speak and just grabbed her hand tugging her back through the halls.
When they reached the dorm Harley frantically pointed at Sealea still speechless.
“What the heck did you do!” Averdine exclaimed. “Your fantastic!” She looked back at him with awe. He shook his head and regained his words.
“Fix her, your magic is better than mine.”
“Just fix her!” he shouted.
“We know your secret Sealea.” Says a scary voice. “Know you don’t!” Sealea snaps bravely.
“Yes we do, don’t lie.” The voice says. Sealea then screams and runs down the hall still screaming.
Jaden wakes up to a weird noise but his room mate, max dose’nt hear it. He goes to see what it was in the hallway but bumps into a girl.
“Ohhhh I am so teaching you a lesson after this,” Averdine said shooting a hard glare at him. She knelt over Sealea’s body and felt her forehead. She was way too hot. Averdine’s finger glew a deep purple as she cast a strong healing spell, sucking a lot of energy from her. Once it ended she collapsed from exhaustion.
“I…hate…you,” she said to Harley, “but give her…a few minutes. She’ll be…fine,” she gasped.
“Oof,” the girl said. She had long curly brown hair ******* in a pony tail and was wearing pajama pants and a graphic-t. “S-sorry that was all my fault,” she said, holding her arms across her stomach.
After a few minuets her eyes opened up. Sealea asked Averdine what she was doing there, and what happened. She was so confused. She did’ent even move because of it.
“It’s ok, but are you ok?” Jaden asked as he look for what the noise was. He could’ent find anything of the problem. So he waited for the answer of his question.
“I just saved your life, thank you very much,” she stated sitting up. She also flashed another glare at Harley.
“Y-yeah I’m fine,” she said. She noticed he was looking for something. “Is something bothering you?” she asked.
Thank not you. I asked a simple question and your just rude!” Sealea said. But she just stared at Harley thinking about her nightmare. She remember what they said about her secret but she knew that they did’ent know.
“Yes there is a strange sound I hear but I don’t know what it is.” Jaden said. “I am so tired though.”
“Well then I believe your in the wrong school girlie,” Averdine said. Harley met Sealea’s eyes and started feeling a little uncomfortable but didn’t break her gaze in case she was trying to intimidate him.
“Are you alright now?” he asked, even though he probably shouldn’t have.
Sealea nodded her head and kept staring at him not with her normal eyes but with kind eyes. The kind eyes have never shown before. She could’ent control them.
“I’m Janden, you?” He asked he stopped searching though. He wondered if she was telling the truth.
“T-that’s,” Harley cleared his throat, “that’s good.” He didn’t know what to make of her gaze.
“Aspen of, um, nowhere in…particular?” She instantly regretted saying that. She heard it so much it became a habit and now look what happened.
Sealea continued to look at him with the kind eyes. She did’ent say anything but stared at him. She starts to smile, a big smile.
“Well nice to meet you. Do you have any brothers or sisters.” Jaden says. He did’ent know what to do she was a girl he had never seen before.
Harley felt a small smile begin to creep onto his face.
“I hate to ruin this beautiful mush fest here but Harley has a beating to pay and I would like to get back to my nap,” Averdine said.
“It’s nice to meet you too,” Aspen said with a smile. “Um, I actually don’t know if I do, what about you?” She fiddled with her earring.
“I uh, yeah. We’ll let you rest. See ya,” Harley said. He didn’t really want to leave but he didn’t have an excuse to stay either. Averdine dragged him out into the hallway and slapped him.
“That is for waking me up,” she slapped him again. “That is for whatever you did to her,” slap. “And that is for whatever the heck just happened. Goodnight,” she walked off to her dorm without another word.
Aspen really didn’t want to go back to bed even if she was tired. That noise rattled her more than she let on.
“Um, sure! I was never allowed to have a pet.”
Sealea started to do her homework. The whole time her smile did’ent come back. She was getting bored.
He walks into his dorm very quiet. He did’ent want to wake up his roommate. He took his Phoenix out of the cage and walked out into the hallway.
“His name Adrian. You have to be careful to have one of these as a pet, they are very tricky.” Jaden says. Adrian was scared because of Aspen, so Jaden tried to calm him down.
Harley walked back to his dorm with a stinging face absolutely exhausted. He didn’t even bother to enter the dorm quietly for his roommate, but then again, he never did. He collapsed on his bed falling into a deep and peaceful sleep.
Aspen stayed in the hall as Jaden retrieved Adrian.
“He’s adorable! Hey boy, there’s nothing to be scared of,” she said kneeling down.
That night after studying Sealea just sat in the hallway waiting for school to start. She was sitting right next to Lady Lesso’s classroom. She waited and she waited and she waited.
Jaden just stood there. “I think he likes you.” He said. He started messing around with Adrian. But then Adrian stopped randomly.
Harley woke up with less than five minutes to class. His roommate already left. Frustrated, he got up and got dressed then walked to class, not caring if he was late. When he arrived he walked into Lady Lesso’s class with all the Nevers staring at him. He walked to his seat and caught Sealea’s eye. He didn’t know she was in his class.
“Glad you could finally join us Harley,” Lady Lesso said. “Class, turn your books to page 800 and read the chapter. There will be a quiz tomorrow.” The class groaned.
Aspen giggled as she watched them play. When Adrian stopped, she heard the noise again.
“D-did you hear it?” she asked Jaden.
When Harley arrived and she saw him a smile had creep up onto her face. “Hi.” Sealea said in a very quiet whisper. Then she started reading the chapter. It was so boring that she fell asleep.
Sealea was very tired anyway so she just kept on sleeping.
“Come on let’s all look around.” Jaden said as he started to tip toe down the hallway, and Adrian followed. “I have never heard this noise before except for tonight.”
“Class dissmissed!” Lady Lesso said. Harley gathered his things and began walking toward the door. He didn’t bother even starting the chapter. He glanced over at Sealea, she was sound asleep, so he walked over to go wake her up. Harley shook her arm.
“Hey, it’s time to go.”
Aspen followed him as quietly as she could so they wouldn’t wake anyone.
“I-I’ve never heard it either,” she said. It was really making her nervous.
“Oh really already.” Sealea said as She gathered her things. “I only got through one page of the chapter.” She then left without saying another word to him.
They walking down the hallway, that was when he found foot prints going down the Stairs. Jaden continued to follow the footsteps.
“Umm… This is weird.” He said. Adrian then starts making a lot of noise.
Harley left soon after Lady Lesso had a word with him, making him late to his next class which went by with Castor very slowly. Luckily, it was time for lunch.
“S-should we go get h-help?” Aspen’s hands were starting to shake and her studder was getting worse. A fierce blush spread across her cheeks and she hoped it was dark enough so that Jaden couldn’t see. She got nervous way too easily.
Sealea was sitting at a lunch all alone, but this was normal since she has never had any friends. She didn’t find it fun but she was fine with it.
She didn’t eat much that day. And so she was about to throw it in the trash.
“Yeah, but my roommate will grumpy and no one wants to deal with that. So let’s just follow them and trust me nothing will happen.” Jaden said as he walked down the pink staircase.
Adrian then started going crazy again. Jaden again tried to calm him down.
Harley skipped getting food because he wasn’t all that hungry. He found Averdine in their usual spot and sat on the ground next to her.
“A-alright,” Aspen said. She tried to help calm Adrian down.
Still lonely Sealea got up threw away her trash and started walking toward the exit. “Once again no one to talk to.” She said as she opened the door.
She saw Harley sitting with Averdine and rolled her eyes. “Bye.”
Once they calmed him down Jaden started to walk down the stairs again. “This has got to be someone I know if not I am going to beat him up because they interuted my sleep!” Jaden yelled.
Harley stood up when he saw Sealea.
“Hey, wait up!” he said jogging to her. “What’s up?”
“Yeah, but I’m sure shouting isn’t going to help. The person, thing, whatever it is will know we’re following,” Aspen said.
“Oh. Well you could come sit with me and Averdine now if you want. I’m sure she won’t mind,” Harley said. Okay that was a total lie.
“It’s fine,” Aspen replied. She saw a shadow creeping along the walls of the staircase in the shape of a human. “J-Jaden what do we do?”
“Well,” Harley rubbed the back of his neck, “I wouldn’t want you to sit alone so I’m sure we can come to an agreement.” He looked back at Averdine who was watching them with menacing eyes.
“Oh, o-okay.” They crept down the rest of the stairs and saw a boy headed for the kitchen. He must be wearing an item that was making the noise. Aspen calmed down a little, it was just a boy
Averdine stared back and wouldn’t dare look away. Harley saw them and frowned.
“Well, if you ever change your mind,” he gestured to their spot.
Aspen nodded and they tiptoed into the kitchen. The boy was raiding the fridge but he seemed to be looking for something in particular.
Sealea ran away and never turned around. I was not like he cared so why should she. She ran and she ran. She kicked everything in the blue she saw.
“Umm… Excuse me who are you?” Jaden asked. He walked over to the boy standing there. He has never seen him before.
Harley watched her run. She always ran. It was her escape but he wished she didn’t. Wait, she was headed for the blue forest.
“Yuba!” Harley called. If he remembered correctly Yuba was on lunch duty.
The boy turned around and sighed with relief when he heard the voice. He pulled down his hood.
“Thank the Queen that you’re not a teacher!” the boy said. “I’m Aieken of Wonderland, and you are?” he asked. Aieken could only see Jaden and did not know Aspen was there.
Sealea sat on a bench in the blue forest. She was tired. Why was she so dumb, and stupid. She just ran, she cared. About what was the question.
“I am Jaden, and this is Adrian.” He said pointing at his Phoenix. He saw what was making the noise. “Do you have any brothers or sisters?” Jaden asked.
“What do you want? Can’t you see I’m trying to sleep here!” Yuba appeared in front of Harley with his arms crossed.
“A student went into the blue forest,” Harley said his face stony.
“I don’t have time for your jokes, kid.”
“I’m serious!” Harley yelled. His finger glew a navy blue color with hints of red. Yuba came to his senses and sent out a search party.
Aspen stood quietly behind Jaden. She had had an encounter with Aieken before and hoped he forgot it.
“Oh, I um, um, nope,” Aieken said, a little too anxiously. He was fiddling with the sword on his belt that looked all too iconic.
“Hey calm down would ya girlie?” Pollux came out from behind the trees followed by some faries and werewolves. “We’re just here to bring you back to the school,” he said soothingly.
“No, wait, Jaden, eep!” Aspen was too late as Aieken already saw her.
“Oh, hello there! Aspen, was it?” He began to circle her slowly.
“Fine. Thank you.” Sealea said and walked back to school. She didn’t want to go back to school, but she did it anyway. When she was back she didn’t say a word.
Jaden was waiting next to the doorway he was about to go in and drag her out. But he would that later. He just waited.
The troop escorted her back and then went off to their appropriate locations. The lunch courtyard was empty as all the students went to their post-luch classes. Harley’s class was a private one with Castor and it was pure torture.
“D-Do you mind not doing that,” Aspen said referring to his circling. She looked at the sword in his belt. How did he get Excalibur?
“Why am I making you nervous?” he purred into her ear from behind her.
“WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE AN EVER?” Castor shouted into Harley’s ear. He was really trying his nerves now.
“I’m not an Ever and I never will be! Okay!? Are you happy now?”
Aspen was dumped in Jaden’s dorm and she hugged her knees to her chest, crying.
“T-thank you,” she said through tears. What they didn’t know was that a furious Aieken was following them, although he was a little delayed from shock. He needed Excalibur back now.
When Sealea walked past she started to eves drop. She felt bad. So she tried to think of a way to get Harley out. “Castor dose not know what’s coming.” She muttered. Her fingers started to glow, she thought of a spell. When she casted it Castor let him free.
“Why are you crying?” He asked as he locked the doors. He sat down next to her. That boy was torturing her.
Harley watched as the spell came that sent Castor out of his skin. The caster of the spell was Sealea. He got a little carried away and hugged her.
“Thank you, thank you so much!” he exclaimed. Castor’s class had been the worst event of his day.
Aspen shook her head and sniffled.
“I’m sorry, I’m a mess,” she wiped her eyes. “He-he was bothering me is all, making me scared. Professor Dovey always told me I was super sensitive,” she said trying to crack a small smile. “But thank you, again.”
“You’re welcome.” Sealea said and she hugged him back. She started to smile again. Maybe she did have a friend.
He looked at her and said “Well we should be alright for right now.”
He put Adrian back in his cage. The good thing was his roommate was normally a deep sleeper so he couldn’t hear the noise.
Harley felt a small blush creep across his face as he realized what he did. He pulled away and actually smiled.
“I don’t think there’s a point in going back to class now,” he said. “Wanna hang out in my dorm?”
“Wow! Your roommate is almost as sound a sleeper as mine is!” Aspen said. It was true. Tera and Ellegard wouldn’t wake up to an earthquake! She, on the other hand, would wake to anything.
Harley walked to his dorm and opened the door for her.
“It’s kind of a mess,” he explained. “Nobody’s ever really over here besides, um, Averdine.”
Aspen laughed along with him. She noticed that he had Excalibur.
“You stole Excalibur!” she exclaimed. She wasn’t sure wether to be excited or worried.
“I don’t really mind.” She said as he walked in. She took a look around. It wasn’t any cleaner than hers. She sat down on the bed still looking around.
“I didn’t steal it. I I’ll return it, I had to take it before he did anything bad.” He said still laughing. “I just hope I don’t get ecused for anything.
Harley nodded and started kicking ***** clothes to the side until he found what he was looking for. It was old but it still worked. He bent down and picked up a board game he may or may not have stolen from the common room.
“Wanna play?” he asked Sealea.
“Okay good,” Aspen said smiling. There was a **** on the door and she jumped. “You don’t think it’s…” she trailed off, looking at Jaden with a tremendous amount of fear in her eyes, her smile gone.
“Sure. I never had played a board game.” Sealea said. She looked at it with excitement. She was telling the truth when she said she had never played a board game.
Sealea was confused though. She thought it was going to be though.
Jaden went to hide in the closet and took Aspen with him. His closet was huge. “This was the worst plan ever.” He whispered.
“Really? Don’t worry I’ll teach you,” Harley said. They played the board game with him helping Sealea as they went. He won but she challenged him to a rematch and won.
“Well, it’s better than staying out in the open,” Aspen whispered back. There was a **** once more before the sound of the doorknob rattling. “Um, we left your roommate out there!’ she whispered. The door squeaked open and Aspen clutched Jaden’s arm.
“You can’t hide, I want my sword back.” Yeah, it was definitely Aieken.
“See you’re a natural already! And I’ve played this game so many times,” Harley said, feeling happy for her. There was a knock at his door and he sighed, knowing exactly who it was. He got up to answer the door.
Aspen kept crawling in front of him but reached a dead end.
“Dead end, what now?” she asked. Now she could hear not one but two voices below her. Jaden’s roommate must have woken up. They didn’t sound violent, but rather, friendly.
Sealea started to frown. She didn’t want to see Averdine. She got up and hide behind the door.
Seale astarted to bite her lip. She was super nervise.
“Umm… What the heck is going on?” Jaden asked afraid about what was going on. “Come on we have to move fast.” He whispered.
He then crawled really fast the other way. There were a lot of turns they took.
“Um, yeah you can stay there if you want. Or you could come out, whatever you want,” he said, wishing she didn’t have to hide. He opened the door and of course there stood Averdine looking mad as ever with her arms crossed.
“Where were you?” she asked. “I suffered through two whole classes without you.”
“I skipped okay,” Harley said back. “I didn’t feel like going.”
Before they turned around Aspen heard the door click shut again and there was silence, which was bad because they were moving fast and she didn’t think Aieken was the one who left. She hoped they wouldn’t be found but then thought of something else she forgot.
“D-did you close the grate?” she whispered.
Sealea walks out and dose’nt look up. “Hi.” She said. She then starts to look up. “If you want I can leave.” Sealea said and started to walk towards the doorway.
Sealea looks back at the game and wishes they could start playing again.
“No.” Jaden said and he starts panicking. He then starts crawling again but very quietly. He thought that was the end of him. “If only the seven dwarfs were here.” He whispered angerly.
“That’s why you skipped isn’t it Harley. All for her,” Averdine said with a disgusted face.
“No, your not leaving,” Harley said a little too sharply. “Why does everything revolve back to her? What did she do to you huh?!”
They kept crawling lucky not to have run into another kind of dead end again. Aspen started to shake again, getting nervous, not to mention she was exhausted.
“Where are you?” the pair heard Aieken singsong from below. He was clearly in the closet. It was only a matter of time until he found the open vent.
Her fingers started to flicker with anger.,why was it so hard for her to make friends. Her eyes started to turn white, she didn’t know what was happening. She just tried to stay in the background.
“Hmm…” She said curious. She looked sad.
Jaden found a way into the hallway. When they landed he ran really quiet. Why did everything have to go really wrong? He ran down the whole staircase.
Harley was too busy yelling at Averdine to notice Sealea.
“She, she…” Averdine didn’t want to tell him the true reason so she didn’t. “She just did stuff!”
“Some friend you are!” Harley said. Any happiness he had was gone. Averdine was still shouting stuff but he ignored her and went into his closet where he kept a punching bag and repeatedly threw hard punches.
Aspen spotted a janitors closet down the hall.
“Closet go, go, go!” she said. They ran into the closet and sat on buckets struggling to catch their breath. She couldn’t hear footsteps. “Why…does he want…that sword so…bad?” she asked though she wasn’t really expecting an answer.
Sealea got up and left. She didn’t want anything worse to happen.
When she got back to her dorm she decided to sit on her bed. She thought it was all her fault, for everything.
Sealea was starting to think she was the worst friend ever. She decided to keep her mind off that by doing homework. ” This is the worst day I have had ever!” Sealea screamed.
It took Jaden a bit to catch his breath. “I don’t know but it is strange.” He said. At times like this he wished he was an never not a ever.
There was still no footsteps in the hallways. He was totally not happy when he decided to investigate. He got himself in a big mess.
Harley heard Sealea leave and let out a scream. This was not how he planned things. Averdine came up behind him.
“Why are you still here?” he asked still throwing punches.
“Because the other one left,” she stated, matter of factly.
“Right,” he said.
“Do you think we lost him?” Aspen asked. She didn’t want to check in case Aieken was trying to trick them. “What if we just gave him back the sword? What if we turned him in? What if-” she stopped herself. “I’m rambling aren’t I?”
After she did her homework she went to get dinner, she hoped to not bump into Averdine or Harley.
“I think this is the best meal they have ever had.” She muttered. She took everything and sat down she was hungry. She wanted to eat ever food though, but she had to eat something.
She was in her grumpy mood so she said nothing to anyone. She sat alone again too.
“Yes you are. I hope he is not right outside the door tricking us.” Jaden said peeking through the keyhole. This is not how he wanted to spend his night.
He looked at the hallway and he was not there so he was glad. There was nothing right now he would want more than to be safe.
Harley had worked up an appetite with his punching bag. He went to get dinner with Averdine following close behind. He ignored her until she put her arm around his once they reached the clearing. Harley wasn’t in the mood for this and shrugged her off.
“Please don’t.” He frowned at her and she glared at him.
“I-I’m going to go back to my dorm. I’m keeping you up and he’s not out there so, why not right?” Aspen said. She stood up and headed for the door. “Thanks and goodnight.”
When she finished her dinner she spotted Harley and Averdine. She didn’t move she stared at them though. But she thought it would be best to leave.
She stood up and started to leave. She wanted to go to sleep anyway.
“Goodnight I will just stay here because I can’t go back to my dorm.” Jaden said. He just sat there. He didn’t really care that he would be alone.
He didn’t want to see his roommate. So he didn’t care enough to look for him.
Harley grabbed whatever slop was for dinner and sat down at his usual spot. He didn’t bother looking for Sealea more for the matter that he wasn’t sure if he would be able to compose himself.
Aspen felt a little bad leaving him there but there wasn’t much she could do. Once she got back to her dorm she realized it was 3 am. So much for a good nights sleep, she thought miserably. She curled up in her bed and went to sleep, trying not to think about the nights events.
When Sealea got back to her dorm she fell right asleep. She was so tired. She didn’t even turn off her light when she went to sleep.
Jaden just sat he for the rest of the night and hoped that morning was going to come soon. He was not going to go through the his new nightmare again.
“Hey, um, Averi, I just- can you give me sometime alone?” Harley asked Averdine. They had just finished dinner. She nodded and walked off while Harley went back to his dorm. He still had homework to do, but went to sleep straight after.
Aspen was woken up three hours later by the morning doves that flew by the Ever’s windows. She thought about going to breakfast with her friends but lied and said she had to go to the library. She did end up going there just I case her friends came looking but ultimately she didn’t want to risk seeing Aieken.
Sealea woke up with lots of energy. With that energy plus breakfast means a lot of energy.
Sealea took anything she saw. It wasn’t as good as the dinner last night though.
When Jaden woke up in the morning he ran out of the closet. He went to breakfast with his friends. He tried not to be seen by Aieken.
Jaden was hoping to bump into Aspen at some point. He did go to the library when he was done with his breakfast.
Harley woke and skipped breakfast, going straight to Lady Lesso’s class. He didn’t want a part in whatever breakfast had planned for him. Since he was there so early there wasn’t much to do and he doodled absent-midedly on the desk.
Aspen was reading a magic through the ages book when she heard the library doors open. She looked up and Jaden was there. She waved at him to come over.
Sealea arrived a few minuets after Harley and went and sat at her desk. “Hi.” She said as she got all her textbooks out.
She waited to she if he said hello back.
Jaden went walking over. “What do you need?” He asked and he sat in a chair next to her. “What are you reading?” He also asked.
Harley was snapped out of his daze when he heard Sealea.
“Oh, hey,” he replied.
“Just thought we could chat for a little without, you know, running for our lives,” Aspen said with a small smile. “Oh, this?’ she said holding up the book. “I got bored and grabbed the first thing I saw which happened to be,” she glanced at the cover, “magic history.” She laughed a little because her selection was completly random.
“I guess now I should sit with you during lunch ever.” Sealea said. That was true because of Averdine. So she would once again be alone.
“Well I have to return books.” Jaden said and he took a big pile of books out of his bag. “I think this was the most I have read ever.” He said and laughed.
“I can get Averdine to stop so you can sit with us,” Harley said. It might take some work but it could probably happen.
“How did you even fit all of those in there?” Aspen asked poking his bag. “I can barely fit two books in mine!”
“How will that work?” Sealea asked looking bored. She thinks it is impossible to make Averdine like her.
“Well to tell you the truth, I do not know.” Jaden answered looking through th his pile of books making sure they were all there.
“I hope we don’t bump into Aieken during the day. Speaking of witch I need to return Excalibur.” Jaden said with a nervise look on his face. He didn’t want to be misunderstood.
Harley smirked at her.
“Because my persuasion skills are the best around. Trust me,” he said.
“I really hope not. Wait, he’s in my third and fifth periods, but there will be other people so he wouldn’t do anything…right?” Aspen asked nervous. “Who are you gonna return Excalibur to?”
“I hope they will work.” Sealea said with a smile. She oh so hopes they truly are the best. If she could she would leave to go to the school for good because everyone there is nothing nice.
“I don’t know? But I don’t really want to do and make everyone hate me.” Jaden said. He also stuffed the sword in his backpack too.
He needed to find out who he should and fast.
“You bet it will!” Harley’s mood started to lighten up some by the time more students started flooding the classroom. Lady Lesso droned on about the importance of test taking and then passed out the quiz. Harley ended up walking out of class with a smokey nine above his head.
“Maybe you should just turn it in to a teacher. Say you found it while you were walking to class,” Aspen suggested. She got up and pushed in her chair while returning the book she was reading to the shelf. “Who do you have for your first class?” she asked Jaden.
Sealea had all the questions answered right. She was proud that she for once got them all right.
At lunch she sat at her normal place. She knew tomarrow she would have someone to talk to.
“I have Pollox.” He said and thought that that was a good thing. This was what thought though.
Harley went to find Averdine. They needed to talk. He found her sitting with a group of Nevergirls, talking and laughing together. He tapped her on the shoulder not sure how well this was going to turn out but it was worth a shot. When Averdine turned around a series of whispers and glances toward Harley occurred.
“Oh,” Aspen said slightly dissapointed, ” I have Proffesor Dovey.” She said goodbye and headed in the direction of Dovey’s classroom, getting there a little early. They had a test today and studying sort of went out the window last night for Aspen.
Averdine stood up and grabbed collar of Harley’s leather vest dragging him behind some trees.
“What do you want?” she asked Harley. “As you can see I’m kinda busy with my friends.” She dragged out the word friends in a nasty tone so Harley could hear it well. He didn’t even bother explaining. If she wanted new friends then she could have them.
“Nevermind, I see you’ve moved on,” he said and walked back over to Sealea.
Aspen just wanted a normal day today. She tried to focus on her test but found it extremely hard. She walked out of class and headed to second period with Pollux with an astonishing, glittering one above her head somehow.
“I guess she got some new friends,” Harley shrugged. It was bothering him a lot more than he was letting on. “But that leaves me with a new opening at ye ole mealtime spot. It’s yours. I mean, ya know, if you want it.” He looked at the ground feeling stupid.
Aspen walked into Pollux’s classroom swarmed by the mob of other students. She saw Jaden talking to Pollux. Hopefully he isn’t in trouble, she thought.
Harley sat down next to her. “Um, I don’t think so, but, you never know.” He was pretty sure all hope was lost but his brain wouldn’t let go of the chance that they may still be friends. After all, Averdine was his first and only friend for a long time.
Aspen waved back and watched him leave the room. When class was dissmissed she walked out with another one above her head and headed for the clearing. She was absolutely starving after skipping breakfast.
Harley stared at his half eaten glop no longer hungry. He leaned back against the tree and glanced at Sealea. At least he still had someone. He was dreading the end of lunch. The last thing he wanted was more work.
Aspen retrieved her lunch basket and started walking over to her friends. Her eyes locked with Aieken’s and they widened with fear. She picked up her pace and stayed close to her group of friends. She looked around and started to panic when she couldn’t see Jaden. He’s probably fine, she thought to herself. You’re just overreacting.
Sealea was so hungry she ate everything. “If only this was ever food.” She said with a little laugh.
When lunch was over share said bye to Harley and headed to her next class. She didn’t to go but she had to, she had to live though the horror she lives though everyday. Well it had to be done.
When Jaden saw Aieken leave he started to eat his lunch really fast. When he finished he left right away to go to his next class. He hoped he didn’t pass him when he walked the hallway, so he was lucky he didn’t.
Harley laughed with her and said goodbye when it was time to leave. He headed off to his next class miserable.
When it was time to go to class Aspen got nervous again. She had the next class with Aieken. She was the second person to arrive so she took her seat and doodled until everyone arrived. She hadn’t noticed she was doodling Jaden’s name all over her notebook. She blushed and turned the page so no one would see. Out of the corner of her eye she spotted Aieken and made a mental note not to look over there again.
In her last class she rocked her test so she was proud of herself. When she left her class she hoped to see Harley but she didn’t.
When Jaden got to his class he was the only one there so he drew a picture of a rose but he didn’t know why. But he was proud of it, it was one of the best rose he has ever drawn.
Harley got out of his last class late because the teacher held them back late for talking. Once they got out he headed back to his dorm to tackle the massive amount of homework he had.
Aspen remembered she had her first ever surviving fairy tales class instead of fairy tale history tomorrow. She was excited because everyone always said that was the best class. Right now though, she had to focus on Self Defense. She didn’t know why but she was oddly good with a sword and always picked that for her defense but today the teacher made her use her magic. She walked out of class with a 16 floating above her head.
Harley passed out halfway through his homework. It had been a long day.
“Wha-!” Aspen said. He had startled her a little bit. She looked over and saw him. “Oh yeah, heh, not really,” she said, blushing. “My magic is terrible,” she said slightly letting her finger glow a light blue.
In the morning Sealea was the first to arrive in class. But when she got there she broke a window. She was lucky no one was there so she super glued it together.
“I don’t really use mine, but I do practice.” Jaden said and his finger started to glow the gold and silver.
“I saw that,” Harley said walking into the room. He got there early because he did plan to finish his homework but he saw Sealea break the window and wanted to see where it would go.
“I should probably practice but, whatever,” Aspen said with a shrug. She continued walking next to him in the direction of the dorms.
“Yeah, I’m not to be trusted with anything so… Yeah.” Sealea said staring at the ground.
“So are you friends with Averdine again?” Sealea asked.
“I hope tonight will be peaceful, no interruptions and just a good night of sleep.” Jaden said. He has to get sleep other wise he will be grumpy in the morning.
“My mum never trusted me with a single thing,” Harley said. “Actually, I haven’t talked to her. Or seen her for that matter. Why are you so concerned about it?” he asked cocking an eyebrow at her.
“Yeah. I could really use the sleep.” Aspen glanced around and saw her dorm. She didn’t know they had been walking for that long. “My dorm is right there,” she said pointing to it. “I’m gonna go grab a few things and head to the groom room, okay?” She wasn’t sure why she was asking but did it anyways.
“I don’t know, maybe because all the teachers in our school can be very serious.” Sealea said. She meant it, they can be pretty serious about everything.
“Hey, do you know anyone who is a ever?” Sealea asked.
“Ok, see you later.” Jaden said and walked to his dorm. He was going to do his homework early.
“I might, why?” Harley asked. He leaned back against the wall and folded his arms across his chest. They still had a good half hour until class.
Aspen went into her dorm and grabbed her bathing suit, shower stuff, and clean pajamas. She headed to the groom room to relax and do some swimming.
“Okay,” Harley said, taking his seat as well. He started doing his remaining homework. “Did you finish your homework yet?”
Once she finished swimming, Aspen pulled on her pajamas and walked out feeling refreshed. She was walking down the hall when someone grabbed her wrist and spun her around.
“So nice that we could meet again,” Aieken said to her. “I missed you.”
“Perfect ’cause I may or may not need a tiny bit of…help,” Harley said. He wasn’t used to asking people for things.
Aiken rolled his eyes.
“You again! Can’t you learn to mind your own buisness,” he said angrily. He gave Jaden a shove backwards still clutching Aspen’s wrist. She struggled but wasn’t very strong and could not shake his grip.
Sealea walked over to Harley’s desk. She looked down a his homework sheet. “What do you need help with?” She asked. She thought the homework was hard but she knew she got it all absolutely right.
Jaden then hit Aieken in the arm. Jaden didn’t care if he would get in trouble, he thought Aieken deserved it. He was glad that the sword was at the right owner instead of being with Aieken.
“Um, the seventh one,” Harley said pointing to it. He has never really payed attention in class but always seemed to get reasonably good grades anyways.
Aieken really wished he had Excalibur right now. He would have sliced Jaden into a million pieces by now. His jaw clenched when Jaden hit him. Aieken punched Jaden square on the jaw, stunning him for a few seconds.
Sealea helped Harley and went to sit back down when she heard someone make a **** outside. “Umm… What was that?” Sealea asked not expecting an answer.
Jaden then went and ripped Aieken’s hand off Aspen’s wrist. He then took a spell book out of his bag ( he found it on the ground and just picked it up.) and started to look for a spell.
“I dunno,” Harley said. “Let’s go check it out!” He got up and went over to the door waiting for Sealea.
Aspen took the chance to run. Once Jaden took Aiekens hand off her wrist. She ran down the hall and to the common rooms because a lot of people always hung out there. Meanwhile, Aieken was now furious at Jaden. He saw the spell book and kicked it out of his hands. When it hit the floor he used his foot to slide it away and lit his green finger glow.
Harley saw the girl and walked over.
She was breathing but wasn’t awake. He shook her a little to see if it would help.
Aieken quickly unfroze his hair and ran after Jaden. He didn’t realize they were headed for the common room and when he got there he was cut off by Faybelle.
“Hi babe, where have you been?” she asked, pecking him on the lips. He sighed and was almost losing sight of Jaden.
“I’m sorry but I don’t have time right now Belle.” He ran a hand through his hair and looked at her. She huffed and walked off.
“Well she’s moving and breathing so that’s good, right?” Harley asked. He had no clue what to do either. “Should we just wait for her to wake up? Or there’s always the latter to leave and forget about it,” he shrugged.
Aspen found her friends and sat and talked with them trying to act as normally as possible. One day of peace, is that too much to ask? Aieken managed to get rid of Faybelle but he lost sight of Jaden. He couldn’t see either him or Aspen, just a bunch of Everboys and girls chatting their heads off. He went to go hang out with his friends.
“Well I don’t think leaving someone in the hallway when you are a never.” Sealea stated staring at the girl.
When Jaden remembered he was running away from Aieken he was glad he had survived for that long. But he didn’t want to jinx himself by thinking about it.
Jaden started searching the commen the room to see if Aspen was there. He couldn’t find her though.
“Okay, sit and wait it is,” Harley said leaning against the wall. “Do you know who she is?” he asked Sealea. Identification might help with figuring out what happened or getting help.
Aspen’s friends were all getting ready to leave so she stayed close by her roommates. As they were exiting the room, she saw Jaden and gave him a small smile letting him know she was okay.
“Right,” Harley said. He watched the girl because he didn’t have anything else to do.
When Aspen and her roommates got back to their dorm she started doing her homework.
“Hey Aspen,” one of her roommates said, “who was that boy you smiled at?”
“What?” Aspen asked. She was confused.
“You know, the cute one that you exchanged smiles with when we left.”
“Oh, Jaden. H-He’s just a friend.”
“Surrrre,” the girl said. Aspen rolled her eyes and ignored them chewing on her pen cap as she approached a hard question.
A few minuets later the girl sarted to twitched again. Sealea then stared at the girl with a concerned look.
Jaden told his friends that he had to do homework so he walked all the way up to his dorm. He had a lot of homework to do and if he wanted to finish it on time he had better do it early.
Harley noticed the girl twitching and decided to shake her again.
“Hey, you’re alright,” he whispered into her ear.
Aspen finished her homework soon later and let out a long sigh. Her roommates were still up and seemed restless as they were talking with the same energy they started with. She joined in after a little.
“C’mon wake up,” Harley whispered. They were running low on time and he really didn’t want to have to explain this.
Aspen started to drift off in thought more than talk now. She was getting tired and decided to go to sleep. She said goodnight to her friends and laid down with relief that tomorrow was the weekend.
“What do we do if she dose’nt wake up.” Sealea said hoping that this wouldn’t get her in trouble.she is doing so well she didn’t want to ruin that.
The morning was quiet so Jaden went to the commen room and just hanged out there for a bit. He was by himself so her practiced his magic.
“Um, I don’t know,” Harley said. “I guess if we need to we could head back to my place and hang out there till she wakes up. Nobody will miss us.”
Aspen woke up before her roommates. The quietness was a bit eerie to her so she decided to go to the common room and see if anyone was there. Jaden was sitting there messing with his magic.
“Boo,” Aspen said walking into the room.
Harley saw her eyes flutter open out of the corner of his own.
“Glad to see Sleeping Beauty is finally awake,” he said letting a hint of rudeness seep into his tone. He was starting to get quite annoyed.
“Nice to see you too,” Aspen said sitting down on the couch. She pulled his knees up to her chest and rested her head on them looking at Jaden. “Mine aren’t either and the room was just giving me bad feelings so…I’m here.”
“What she said.” Harley tipped his head in Sealea’s direction. His gaze was still fixed on the girl.
“You don’t think…he…had anything to do with it do you?” Aspen asked. She watched his glowing finger swirl around casting small spells.
“Yeah, well, I think that you’re talking to the wrong people.” Harley stood up, ready to leave. He didn’t like this girl, she was too…polite. And cheerful. He played with his lip ring while waiting for Sealea.
“Well, they’re normal for themselfs. Normal in terms of the average human nature…I’ll have to get back to you on that,” Aspen said. She giggled a little. Her roommates were strange, but awesome.
“She’s annoying,” Harley said simply with a shrug.
Aspen laughed with him.
“We should introduce them all to each other, they’d be like, perfect! But then again, they probably think we aren’t the normal ones.”
“You can go back and help her if you want but I’m going back to my dorm,” Harley stated. He didn’t like nor trust that Ellis girl.
“Well I think she is alright, so I am going to and try to trims some people.” Sealea said walking away from Harley.
Jaden turned it back to the same flowers. “No need to worry.” He said. He then turned their table to ice
“Bye,” Harley said and walked to his dorm. He decided to get some extra sleep and took a nap.
“I always liked the cold better anyways,” Aspen said with a smile. She managed to get a snow cloud to form over the ice table.
Sealea walked down the hallways tricking people as she walked past everyone. She turned some people’s hair to snakes, she also formed snow clouds over some other people’s heads and many more things.
“This is what I call amazing.” Jaden said with a huge smile. He hoped that his roommate would come down soon.
Harley dreamed of demons dancing on pillars of fire. He was walking above them on a tightrope. One slip-up and he’d be done for. This dream was a familiar one though, he never failed.
“I agree,” Aspen said. She looked around. “Ya know, I think this is the quietest I’ve ever seen the common room.” She got a mischievous glint in her eye. “I’ve got an idea. C’mon!” She hopped up and started jogging towards the door in her fuzzy pajamas.
Harley was still asleep when lunch came around. He didn’t hear his door creak open when Averdine walked in scowling.
“Well, we’re bored, correct? And we must find a way to both annoy our roommates and have fun. So, why not barge in and create as much of a ruckus as possible,” Aspen said. She figured her friends had slept long enough. She walked down the halls next to Jaden heading for the dorms floor.
When Sealea got her lunch. She looked around but couldn’t find Harley anywhere. When she couldn’t she sat down under the tree she would always sit under.
“This is going to be fun.” Jaden said. He was telling the truth, everyone sleeps forever.
Sealea finished her lunch and go ready to leave.
“Yours, because we don’t need to be in a hurry with mine.” Jaden said as they continued to walk down the hallway
She just walked away. Sealea didn’t really care, why should she?
“Well I am kinda of used to it.” Jaden said as they arrived at Aspen’s dorm. It normal because of his roommate.
This got Averdine mad.
“Hey, don’t walk away from me!” she demanded. She stomped after Sealea.
“Okay, on the count of three, we storm in there and without breaking anything, make as much noise as possible, got it?” Aspen asked.
“Three!” She ran in there screaming her lungs off and grabbed a brush to **** on the walls. This was the most fun she had had in a while.
Sealea started to speed walk now. She didn’t want Averdine to catch her.
Jaden saw buckets and started to drum on them with his hands. He was enjoying this a lot.
Sealea just kept walking, she didn’t even know where to go. She was just trying to get away feom Averdine. She then had a idea on how to get ride of Averdine.
“Oh well, I guess it was not the day.” Jaden said sitting on the ground. He was fine with that he still had his roommate.
“Alright I’ve had enough of this,” Averdine said, fed up. She cast a spell that rooted Sealea to the spot she was in. She walked over. “Now what makes you think you can walk away from me?” she said.
“Onwards to your dorm!” Aspen declared. She wasn’t going to let this ruin her fun. She pulled Jaden up and started running down the hall and to the boys floor.
“Because I have had enough if you. And the one question I have is what I have done to you?” Sealea said with no fear just confidence.
Jaden lead her to his dorm and walk in making a lot of noise. He was still having a lot of fun.
“You stole my…my friend,” Averdine said, hesitating when it came to friend. She quickly recovered though and sent a hard glare at Sealea who was still frozen.
Aspen followed him in. Not paying attention, just making noise. She ran into a solid thing though.
“Oof,” she said looking up. Her eyes widened in terror. “J-Jaden…” she mumbled. Staring at the person in front of her. Aieken.
“Yeah well you can have him back.” Sealea said still bravely. She wasn’t sure what she was saying but, whatever.
Jaden looked up. When he saw Aieken he grabbed Aspen’s wrist and ran. Why did he need the sword so bad? Jaden wondered what the point of running was if he would just bump into Aieken again.
“Really? Because I’ll hold you to that,” Averdine said. She had pure evil dancing in her eyes. “I don’t want you near him or talking to him and you can’t mention a word about this,” she said.
Aieken casted a spell and shut the door before they could leave. “You don’t want your friends?” he asked. Aspen saw he had her two roommates tied to chairs and gagged along with a boy who she assumed was Jaden’s roommate.
“I’m going to propose a deal,” Aieken said walking towards them. “If you surrender Aspen and Excalibur to me, I will let you have your friends, no harm done.” Aspen saw her friends shaking their heads as best they could. She didn’t like this at all.
Sealea didn’t think this is how it would go down. “Ok. Just leave me alone now.” Sealea said starting to hate being frozen in the middle of the hallway.
Jaden didn’t know what to do, he didn’t what to give him Aspen but he wanted to save his roommate plus Aspen’s. “Why do you need a Aspen so bad?” He asked, he wouldn’t hand her over either way.
Averdine realeased the spell and walked down the hall with a satisfied smirk on her face. Meanwhile, Harley woke up just in time for his next class and decided to go.
“That is none of your business,” Aieken sneered. “Jaden, just let me go,” Aspen said. “It’s one person for three and I’ll be fine. H-He won’t hurt me.” Aspen said that more for Jaden’s sake but she wasn’t entirely sure it was true.
Sealea went to her next class hoping Harley wouldn’t be there. She didn’t want to be dead.
Jaden let go. He trusted what she said. “Alright, now let them all free.” Jaden said, he had a plan to let Aspen free, but he needed the other three thought to make it successful.
Harley walked into class fully rested and alert. And, maybe a little late. Everyone stared at him because he had been gone the whole day but he just took his seat and waited.
Aspen gave Jaden a quick hug before walking as calmly as she could over to Aieken. He kept his promise and was untying their friends who stared in disbelief at Aspen.
After class in the hallway Sealea saw Harley started to speed walk. She remembered what Averdine said to her.
“Ok I will leave now.” Jaden said starting to walk out the door. He kne it was his dorm but Aieken was in there and he didn’t want anything bad to happen to anyone.
Harley saw Sealea and started jogging after her. He wanted to apologize for earlier.
“Hey, Sealea, wait up!” he called.
“No, you don’t have to leave. We were just about to.” Aieken entwined his hand with Aspen’s and walked out the door. Aspen had her head low the whole time. She didn’t want to look at their faces.
Sealea started to run down the hallway. She didn’t want to die just for being near him and talking to him.
Jaden stopped at the doorway as they passed by. “Well, you guys can leave now.” He said looking at the girls not looking happy.
Harley started to chase after her but then stopped. He knew her well enough to know he should leave her alone. What was that about though? Was she still mad from earlier?
“Right,” Aspen’s roommates said in unison. They left the room looking no happier than Jaden did. Meanwhile, Aspen walked with Aieken back to his dorm. When they got there he flopped onto his bed and started flailing Excalibur around. Aspen stared dumbfounded.
“B-but we gave that to-” she said before Aieken cut her off.
When she arrived at her dorm she was relived. She was surprised she made it.
Jaden was nervise that something bad was going to happen to Aspen, but he had to trust her. He was not happy about what he had done.
It has been his last class so he went back to his dorm. He didn’t like hanging out in the common room. Worry overcame him that he did something to anger Sealea though he didn’t know what.
“Pollux, yeah I know,” Aieken said. “Being the most popular Everboy does have its perks ya know.” He stood up setting Excalibur on his nightstand and walked over to Aspen who was standing on the opposite side of the room.
Sealea hanged out in her dorm to be safe from seeing Harley. Why would he need her when he had Averdine.
Sealea did all her homework fast.
Jaden didn’t to his roommate for the rest of the night. It was not that he was mad it was that he was deep into his homework
Harley didn’t bother with his homework. He just wasn’t in the mood. Then Averdine came in.
“What, did you get tired of your new friends?” he asked from his bed.
“I just thought we could make amends. I was wrong. You can have other friends, I just overreacted,” she said sitting down at the foot of his bed.
Aspen backed up when he came towards her but hit the wall. “Stupid walls,” she grumbled under her breath. He came even closer to her and put his hands against the wall at either side of her head, leaning against them. She caught his eye but quickly looked away.
“What was that? I couldn’t hear you,” he said smirking and using his finger to lift her chin so she would look at him.
Sealea thought that it would be safe to go in the hallway. So she went out and headed to the commen room.
Jaden finished his homework and headed to the commen room.
“Okay…” Harley said sitting up. This whole thing seemed fishy to him.
“So friends again?” Averdine asked holding out her hand.
“Sure Averi,” he replied shaking her hand.
“Good,” she said smiling. “Now I get to introduce you to my newer friends.” He shook his head but smiled as she pulled him to the common room.
“I said you’re an idiot,” Aspen replied, sliding his finger away.
“See, that’s what I like about you. You’re shy, but you have a strong fire when your angry, upset, etc.” Aieken said his smirk never faultering. Aspen scowled at him. Then noticed how close he was and blushed.
“C-could you back up?” she asked nervously.
“Nope,” he said.
When they arrived Sealea saw them and started to head to the door to leave.
Jaden knew he wouldn’t see Aspen so he wasn’t as happy to be at the commen room. What was that Aieken doing to her? Why was he so mean to her? Jaden had many questions about this whole thing.
Harley saw Sealea start to leave and fought the urge to make her tell him what he did. Averdine pulled him over to the group of girls she had been hanging out with and a lot of them blushed. She started introductions but Harley wasn’t paying much attention. His mind wanted to be off wandering.
Aspen sighed and didn’t even bother trying to shove him off because that was absolutely hopeless. Six feet of solid muscle versus the five and four inches of skin and bones she was. While she was thinking, Aieken crashed his lips onto hers violently. Aspen’s eyes widened in shock but then closed. She kissed him back but didn’t know why. He stayed there for a moment and then pulled away satisfied. It was getting late and he still had homework.
Sealea left with Ellis and was talking to her on her way back to her dorm. She actually has a friend that dose’nt include losing by talking to their friend.
Jaden headed back up to his dorm to go to sleep. He was so tired.
Harley soon left to go back to his dorm. He couldn’t sleep though between his thoughts and the fact that he already slept through half the day.
Aieken did his homework and then went to sleep. Aspen stayed on the opposite side of the room and fell asleep on the floor soon after.
Jaden and Sealea both headed to the clearing. They were both excited about first class.
When everyone arrived Jaden saw Aspen and ran up to her. “Hi. I see nothing bad happened.” He said.
Sealea saw Harley and tried to hide.
Aspen stopped following Aieken’s group when she saw Jaden running over.
“Hi. N-” She cleared her throat. “Nope I’m fine,” she said with a smile on her face. The smile was really hard to muster but she did it. Harley saw Sealea and drifted away from Averdine to go talk to her.
“Why are you hiding from me?” he asked, upset.
“You don’t sound fine, what happened?” Jaden said concerned. He was prepared to fight that Aieken.
Sealea continued hide from Harley. She knew Averdine would see so she didn’t speak to hi. When he asked the question.
“I-I’m fine. Really,” she assured him. She watched his hands tighten and didn’t want a fight. That was the absolute last thing she wanted.
“Aspen, c’mon!” Aieken called.
“I’ll see you later,” she said, turning and walking towards Aieken.
Harley was really angry now.
“Fine! Geez, I don’t even know what I did!” he yelled and walked In The other direction. He ran into another boy when he wasn’t paying attention and it was Aieken. Harley looked at him and then all the people following him and glared at him. “I don’t have time for you either,” he snarled and shouldered his way past the group.
Sealea got up and walked around, she was looking for Ellis. Meanwhile Jaden was wondering how Aspen become friends with Aieken, and he thought it would get worse.
Sealea found Ellis and started to talk to her.
Aieken glared back at Harley and Aspen watched him. “What was all that?” she asked.
“Nothing,” he snapped at her. She jumped back a little in surprise. “Sorry,” he apologized. “It’s nothing though.” Meanwhile, Yuba was gathering everyone to start class. Harley tuned him out as he droned on about safety in the blue forest and blah, blah, blah.
Sealea was paying attention, she didn’t want to have anything bad happen. Jaden was paying attention too. He was surprised that it only took ten minuets to explain, and so they could do a challenge.
Aspen was excited to finally start the challenge. Yuba placed them in groups of four. Aspen, Aieken, Jaden, and Aieken’s friend Dagamier (though he much preferred Danny) were placed on a team and Harley, Averdine, Sealea, and Ellis were placed on a team. There were eight teams total. The team who came back with all 5 team flags and members first won.
Sealea was doomed, Averdine was going to kill her. That is what she gets for being on a team with Harley.
Jaden wasn’t proud to be on a team with Aieken, in fact he hated it.
“You’re safe. This time” Averdine sneered into Sealea’s ear when Harley wasn’t looking. She decided to spare her this time since she couldn’t help team outcomes.
Danny looked Jaden up and down and lightly punched Aieken in the arm. “How did we get stuck with the loser?” he asked him, pointing to Jaden. Aspen was just about ready to spear him in the stomach if she had a sword.
With relief Sealea started to smile. She was glad she wouldn’t die. But she still didn’t talk to Harley.
Jaden was ready for the challenge, so whenever it started he would be sure succeed.
Harley didn’t even bother looking at Sealea, he just calmly waited for the challenge to start.
Aieken and Danny kept cracking jokes. Aspen eventually turned away not wanting to deal with them.
Yuba finish consulting with a fairy about the setup and everything was ready. He used magic to project his voice to everyone. “On your marks, get set, go!”
Sealea followed everyone on her team. She knew Harley hated her, but it was fine the thing that Averdine said would go on forever. Jaden too followed everyone on his team.
Harley led the way because he was the only boy. They managed to pick up two flags within the first five minutes.
Aieken and Danny seemed to lead and Aspen followed with Jaden close behind. They lacked in finding flags for the first few minutes.
“Wait, guys, I see one!” Aspen said pointing at the orange speck in a clump of bushes.
Sealea was getting tired of their challenge but was helping with finding the flags. Jaden ran over to the flag and picked it up. “And another flag.” He said carrying it over to the rest of the team. He was hoping they would be back first but how long it was taking them he started to think they wouldn’t.
“Last one,” Harley said holding up a bright yellow flag. “Let’s go.” He took off running back the way they came. He wanted to win the challenge.
So far, the orange team had three out of five flags and everyone was starting to get fed up with each other.
“I don’t understand why we need to continue!” Aspen yelled. “It’s clear we are losing, if we haven’t lost already, and none of you can deny it. Besides, I think we’re literally lost.” Looking around, Aieken noticed that he actually had no idea where they were. He looked back at Aspen who was still ranting about all the problems and walked over to her. He leaned down and kissed her. “W-What was that for?” she asked.
“You needed to shut up.” Aspen huffed and crossed her arms across her chest, frustrated.
They made it back and were the first ones back. Jaden saw a flag in the distance. “Come on, I see a flag in the distance.” Jaden said and he pointed over where it was.
“Oh thank the Queen we are first because that was terrible,” Harley said collapsing on the ground. He was fit, but was never really one for athletics.
“You’re telling me. Are we allowed to back out of this class?” Averdine asked. Yuba walked over and frowned at them all.
“Congrats on first place but you aren’t getting out of my class.” Four other teams ran in five minutes later.
Danny ran over and grabbed the flag.
“Four. We still need one,” he said.
“Is that it?” Aspen pointed to the orange at the top of a tree. Aiken and Danny tested the branches.
“Well, the branches won’t hold our weight, so it’s either you or loser over there who are climbing, if the branches can hold your weight,” Aieken said.
Sealea sat down on the ground and waited for the rest of the teams to arrive.
“Well I am too heavy, so yeah.” Jaden said staring at the flag.
Two more teams ran in.
Everyone looked at Aspen. She was the only one light enough. “But I’ve never climbed a tree before!” she exclaimed.
“You will be fine. We will boost you. Just make sure each branch can hold your weight before you climb it,” Aieken said.
Sealea waited for the last team to arrive. She was happy they were the first ones back instead of being the last ones.
They helped her. Test the branches before she climbed up them.
The blue team came in. Orange was still wip.
Aspen managed to climb to the top and grab the flag before it started to rain.
“Um, guys it’s getting kind of slippery up here!” she yelled down nervously. Then her feet slipped off of the branch and she was left dangling from the branch by her hands, as she was to far away to reach the trunk. She let out a small scream.
Sealea was getting bored waiting plus wherever she went to get shelter she would just get wet. She was going crazy nothing was going good.
Jaden carried her down. “You alright?” He asked. He was glad she didn’t fall.
Harley luckily brought a sweatshirt and pulled that on. He pulled the hood over his head and sighed watching the rain fall.
Aspen was crying a little. She sniffled and said, “No, I think I twisted my ankle or something. It really hurts!”
Aieken came over and helped to set her on the ground.
Sealea was mad that she didn’t have a good on the jacket she wore all the time and everyday.
Jaden leaned down next to her. He was worried about her. He would be super angry if something really bad happened other up there.
The rain poured down harder now, soaking the awaiting teams.
“Danny, go get Yuba or someone,” Aieken said. He looked back at Aspen once Danny took off running. “I’m not gonna lie to you, this is going to hurt, but I need to figure out how bad your ankle is, okay?” he asked her. She nodded slowly. He applied a little pressure but it didn’t hurt. A little more and she flinched. She bit her lip until the pressure really hurt and she had to yell and dug her fingers into the wet dirt.
Sealea ran over to Ellis because no one would talk to her. She was getting annoyed of waiting for the team. She was about torture someone for no reason.
Jaden waited for Danny to come back. He sarted to become nervise about Sealea.
A boy from the orange team came crashing through the trees. He went over to Yuba and explained something before Yuba sent the boy and several faries back into the forest.
“Yeah, I think you broke it,” Aieken said, rubbing the back of his neck. “Either that or a really bad sprain.”
What’s taking Danny so long, he thought.
Jaden was glad to see that Danny finally got back to where they were. “What took so long?” Jaden asked with worried look on his face.
Sealea saw the team zap into the clearing. Sealea was glad to see them, she could finally get good shelter. But when she looked over at Harley she stopped being happy.
Harley was staring off into the trees looking miserable as ever. He payed no attention to anyone or anything just…stared.
“Okay, um, class dismissed!” Yuba called, quickly giving students their grades above their heads. Harley got up with his shimmering one and shoved his hands in his pockets, walking to the common room. Meanwhile, Yuba headed with the faries and the orange team to the nurse.
Sealea was walking back to her dorm and walked past Harley but walked normally.
“Is she going to be alright?” Jaden asked as the nurse did her thing. He was just standing there in a chair.
Harley had had enough. He grabbed Sealea’s shoulder, stopping her and making her face him. “Okay, I want to know and I want to know NOW what the heck is wrong,” he demanded, looking her in the eyes fiercely.
“She should be fine. A few weeks in a cast and crutches is all,” the nurse responded sweetly.
“But couldn’t you just heal it with magic?” Aieken asked. If there was a way to heal her faster then he wanted that.
“There is but it is much safer this way. There is no risk of further damage if the spell were to falter.”
“I- it was umm… Averdine.” Sealea said with a sly smile, that smile then turned into a frown. She knew this would end badly, also she would be dead.
“Well that stinks that we can’t heal her with magic.” Jaden said with a frown on his face.
“What do you mean?” Harley asked Sealea. He thought Averdine was fine with her.
Aspen stayed silent the whole time and carefully watched the nurse as she worked on the cast.
“There, all done!” the nurse said. She went to a closet and got a set of crutches, adjusting them to Aspen’s height. She helped Aspen off the table and showed her how to properly use the crutches. She dismissed the lot of them after explaining some guidelines and when she wanted to see Aspen again.
“She froze me in the hallway and I said something and she told me to stay far away from you and not to talk to you.” Sealea said.
Jaden sarted to walk back to his dorm. He would actually talk to his roommate once again.
Harley calmed down and sighed.
“I swear I’m going to beat her senseless,” he said, grimacing. He looked back to Sealea. “Do me a favor and don’t listen to her. Or at least tell me if she threatens you again.”
Danny went back to his dorm after saying bye and Aieken helped Aspen back to his dorm. “You know, they may be helping, but these things are annoying,” Aspen said while they were walking, referring to her crutches. It was still fairly early in the day. Still an hour till lunch.
Sealea nodded her head and continued to walk back to her dorm. She was glad that that was over now. She would be able to relax in the hallways now.
While Jaden waited for his next class he talked to his roommate. He was bored and he had no homework he had to do, that at least made him happy.
Harley went to his dorm and just waited for the lunch bell.
“They look it,” Aieken agreed. They reached his dorm. “Um, I have a few things I need to get done so, just stay here or whatever and I’ll be back in time for lunch.” Aspen nodded and he went to the common room.
Sealea waited in her dorm with Ellis. They talked for a bit, and they also had a tiny little play fight with their magic.
Jaden was getting so bored, there was really nothing to do in his dorm at this time.
Finally, the lunch bell rang. Harley let out a sigh of relief. The boredom was killing him. He got the daily slop and took his spot under the tree.
Aieken had gotten back to his dorm moments earlier having no success in finding what he needed. Aspen was there looking at the peculiar collection of trinkets on his dresser. She quickly noticed he was there and blushed, hobbling to the door and then the lunch room with tremendous effort as she wasn’t used to the crutches and the weight of the cast yet.
Sealea sat again where she sat alone. She was once again not happy with the lunch they gave the nevers.
Jaden got his lunch and tried to look for Aspen but had no luck doing so.
Sealea finished lunch fast. So she could get to class right on time. She was walking out the door.
Jaden still couldn’t dind Aspen. She’s most likely with that annoying Aieken, he thought. He hated Aieken so much. He stopped looking though.
Harley ate his lunch and watched the last of the rain clouds give way to bright sunshine. He was kind of upset. Rain was his favorite especially when it was sunny at the same time.
Everyone eventually looked away and went about their business. “I’m going to go find Jaden,” Aspen said, starting to move away. Aieken stepped in front of her though. “What’s so great about him?” he asked. Aspen frowned.
“He’s definitely a better person than you will ever be,” she spat at him. She manuvered around him and looked around for Jaden but there were too many people and she couldn’t see him.
Sealea went to her next class, if she got there early she should be able to get In some studying before class starts.
Jaden went and walked over to his friends. He started to talk with the rest of them. They were all making jokes for some reason.
After all the classes were over Sealea went down to the commen room to see if anyone she knew would come down.
Jaden headed to the commen room to do his homework. It was better than going to his dorm.
Sealea turned around with a little jump. “Hi.” She said when she walked into the room.
Jaden finished his homework fast. He was hoping that Aspen would stop by the commen room.
Harley grinned. “Hiya,” he said plopping into one of the chairs.
Aspen’s route passed through the common room. She saw Haden sitting there and decided a stop wouldn’t hurt. Besides she hasent seen him since this morning. “Hi,” she said hopping over to the chair next to his.
Sealea sat down in the chair next to him. “So, how is it going?” She said.
“Hi. I just finished my homework.” Jaden said as he put everything in his backpack and he took out a book.
“I don’t know but it seemed like something bad happened.” Sealea said. She was sure that something happened but she didn’t know what happened.
“Well it most likely won’t take long.” Jaden said.
“Yeah, not to mention they took forever as it is,” Harley said. He remembered that he still had to talk to Averdine later.
“Good, I wanna go see my roommates before Aieken finds me again,” Aspen said frowning. “And it’s official, Surviving Fairy Tales, not my favorite class.” She laughed a little before glancing at her blue cast.
“Well it’s not like we need to care, I’m sure they have it under control.” Sealea said.
“I thought you were friends with Aieken now.” Jaden said trying to find his place in his book because his bookmark fell out of it.
Sealea saw that more people were arriving at the commen room, which meant even more noise.
“Yeah, well I never liked him in the first place.” Jaden said, they both agree on Aieken.
“Why must people disturb the peace that was this room?” Harley asked, mostly to himself. He watched people file in and form their own clusters.
“Do you know who his parents are? I’m just curious. I found these cool things on his dresser the other day but they didn’t look like they were from anywhere around here,” Aspen said remembering the objects.
Sealea stood up. “Bye.” She said and walked over to the door.
“I don’t know.” Jaden answered. Whoever his parents are they must be nicer.
Sealea walked back to her dorm to do some homework.
“Sure.” Said Jaden getting up to follow her to the kichen.
Harley went back to his dorm and grabbed his secret stash of cookies from his closet. Yet another gift from Uncle Hatter. He knew Harley’s affection for cookies and had given him an infinite box-perfect for any tea party.
“You made friends with the right person,” Aspen said walking down the hall, “because I know where the staff keeps all the desserts. But you can’t tell, promise?” She looked at him with mock seriousness.
Sealea thought her homework was really hard. She was about to throw her homework across the room, but she didn’t.
After a bit she actually finished her homework.
“promise.” Jaden said as they walked farther down the hallway.
After his cookie binge, Harley decided to let a few punches fly on his punching bag still hung securely in his closet.
When they reached the kitchen Aspen went over to a locked door.
“Here hold this,” she said, handing Jaden her right crutch. She pulled a bobby pin she always kept from the back of her hair and picked the lock with ease, taking her crutch back.
After Sealea finished she went down to the commen room. She looked to see if Ellis was there but couldn’t see her so she just sat down anyway.
They walked into the kitchen. he wondered how Aspen found out about the desserts. He would have never.
Averdine walked in while Harley was throwing punches.
“Hi,” she said walking into the closet. Needless to say, a full blown argument was in session within two minutes.
“Aaand, voíla!” Aspen said as the door opened revealing every sweet a child could imagine. “I was pretty upset the first time Professor Dovey took me down here, discovering they kept this from us, but I understand now. Anyways, take what you want but not too much so we aren’t noticed.”
When Sealea saw Ellis walk in Sealea waved her over. They started to talk. Then Ellis had to do her homework she had to go back to her dorm.
“This is cool, thanks for taking me down.” Jaden said as he took 2 cookies and a brownie. He was actually surprised that never knew about this before, he was surprised when she told him about it.
Averdine was ranting on why she deserved justice but Harley was so ready For her to get out. Even if she was once his friend she definitely wasn’t anymore.
Aspen grabbed two pieces of fudge and her favorite candy. She shrugged, “No problem, I come down here all the time. I’m surprised I haven’t been caught yet. Or maybe Dovey is vouching for me.” She nibbled on a piece of fudge.
Sealea went back up to her dorm and started to mess around with her magic.
Jaden started with his brownie. “This is the best brownie I have ever tasted.” He said.
“Okay you know what,” Harley said to Averdine, “get out and please leave me and my real friends alone.” She stood there gaping before she shut her mouth and left.
“Yeah its rediculously good,” Aspen agreed. “I wish I could bake and cook like this but in reality I can’t cook to save my life.”
Sealea kind of ruin some of the things in her room but none of them were important though.
“Well I have never even tried cooking, so I think I’m worse.” Jaden said. When he ate the cookies, he was speechless.
Ellis knocked on the door and walked in. “Hi.” She said and sat down on the bed.
“Well I guess you were friends With the lunch ladies.” Jaden said. He had finished his food.
Harley soon fell asleep. His head was covered with a pillow and his arm dangled over the edge of the bed with his fingers scraping the floor.
“Something like that. The only reason I was there was so that I would stop hovering around Professor Dovey all the time.” Aspen had finished her snacks. “We should get out of here before someone comes around,” she said locking the door behind them.
It was getting late so Ellis went back to her dorm and Sealea fell asleep.
Jaden was walking back to his dorm. “Well I am going to go back to my dorm, bye.” He said continuing to walk towards his dorm.
Jaden fell asleep as soon as he got to his dorm. He was so tired. Good thing he already finished his homework.
The next morning, Harley woke up feeling as if he had gotten no sleep at all. He groaned and rolled out of bed – literally.
Aspen woke up on a bed instead of the floor. Aieken took the floor last night on account of her ankle. He was still passed out on the floor and Aspen took this to her advantage, using her crutches to poke him from the bed. He stirred a little and she grinned.
Sealea was the first one at class like always. She was always there first but that was a good things because she can study a bit.
Jaden woke up but his roommate was still asleep. He just sat in his bed for a while though.
Harley pulled on a clean outfit and fixed his hair before going to class feeling like a zombie.
Aspen poked Aieken once more and he jolted awake looking frantically around until his eyes landed on Aspen who was laughing her head off.
“You…” he playfully glared at her and stood up heading for his closet. When Aspen wasn’t looking he turned and pinned her on the bed before she could retaliate.
Sealea was getting in a lot of studying time in. She was thinking she would rock the test.
When it was time Jaden ran down to his class.
Harley walked into class in studded combat boots, ripped jeans, a tight black t-shirt, and a loose red tie. He held an absolutely destroyed notebook and pencil because it was all he could find. Sometimes this happened. He lost things quite a lot in the war zone that was his dorm.
Aspen blushed but quickly glared at him.
“Great, now we will be late because of you,” she said trying to wriggle from Aieken’s grasp.
“Actually,” he replied, “I recall you being the one to wake me in the first place.” He quickly pecked her on the lips. “I don’t really care anyways.” He backed off and looked for some clean clothes. Aspen brushed herself off.
“Well, I do,” she said grabbing her stack of clothes from the corner. “Peace.” She held up a peace sign and went to the groom room as fast as she could.
“Hi.” Sealea said still looking down. She didn’t know who walked into the room but she knew that someone did walk in.
A few minuets more people start walking into the classroom. That’s when he knew class was about to start,
“Yo,” Harley said, passing Sealea’s desk. He took his own seat and cracked open the ancient notebook.
Aspen was significantly late once she walked into class. The girls were staring at her as she was never late. She bit her lip and went to her seat not making eye contact.
“I have been waiting forever for people to start arriving.” Sealea said looking up from her book to look at Harley.
Jaden’s first few classes went fast. But they also had test in them, which he didn’t like at all.
“Is there something going on and nobody told us?” Harley asked looking away from the ruins that were old notes and at the clock. It was five minutes till class. There should definitely be more people here by now.
Aspen’s morning classes went by in a blur. She couldn’t retain what they had learned and was thankful for her notes. She did fairly well in the challenges and walked to lunch with a 7 floating over her brown hair.
“I don’t know, and I hope not.” Sealea said looking up at the clock. She hoped that everyone was just late today.
Jaden saw Aspen walking to the cafeteria, so he ran over. “My classes felt like they went really fast. How about you, did yours seem like they went by fast?” He asked walking with her.
Harley kept an eye on the clock. Five minutes had passed. Everyone else was officially late.
“Umm, should we go see if we can find people or stay here?” he asked Sealea because he couldn’t decide himself.
Aspen saw Jaden come over.
“Yeah, but I’m most definitely not complaining. This day has been horrendous in my opinion,” she said.
“I think we should try and find everyone because this is boring.” Sealea said pointing down at her homework. She has been doing enough studying for one day.
“Well the worst thing that has happened to me today is being hungry, and that’s it.” Jaden said as they grabbed their lunch. He was telling the truth about being hungry because he didn’t eat breakfast.
“Works for me,” Harley said. He stood up and went over to the door.
“Yeah, that’s pretty bad. I didn’t have time for breakfast,” Aspen agreed.
Sealea followed him out into the hallway. “Where should we look first?” She asked thinking about the answer to her question.
Jaden went walking off to a tree to sit under a tree. He waved over Aspen to come over with him.
“Theater.” Sealea answered. She was sure that they would be there.
“What are you looking for?” Jaden asked.
“Alright, let’s go,” Harley said walking to the theater. Even the hallways were bare and not filled with their daily stragglers.
“I swear I had-” Aspen said trailing off. She dug around some more before giving up. “Forget it. I must’ve forgot.” She shrugged it off and turned her attention to the food in front of her.
“This is strange. But it is cool.” Sealea said as they arrived at the theater.
“I have one more test for today.” Jaden said. He was glad he has no more test. He still has gomework though.
The theater was completely empty but it didn’t really bother Harley.
“What if we end up with the whole school to ourselfs?!” he asked.
“I think I have a test later. And then homework that I don’t want to do,” Aspen said. She sighed a little and leaned back against the tree.
“I would love it!” Sealea said turning to the door to leave.
“I have a lot of homework. I want a day with no homework.” Jaden said with a little frown when he said homework.
“Well I don’t know about you but I am going to sleep. Bye.” Sealea said walking in the direction of her dorm.
Jaden finishes his lunch. “Well I have to get to class, bye.” He said waving bye to Aspen.
“Bye,” Harley said. He stood alone in the hallway thinking about what he could do. He got an idea and went to his dorm.
“Bye,” Aspen said with a wave. She stood up herself once he had left and threw away the remainders of her lunch. Aieken stomped over clearly mad.
“There you are! You know I’ve been looking for you this entire time!” He waved his arms around, exasperated.
Ot didn’t take Sealea long to fall asleep when she arrived at her dorm. She was really tired when she woke up that morning.
When Jaden arrived other people were just arriving too. He took his seat and started to do some of his homework. Lunch would be done in five minuets so that means class with start in seven.
Harley retreived his spray paint he had hidden when he first came here. He felt like doing a little art. He went to each classroom and made something different. A word here, a small picture there.
“That’s not my fault,” Aspen said looking anywhere but at Aieken. “I don’t have to be around you all the time.”
“You should at least tell me! I was worried! Anyways, I bet you were with that…Jaden loser weren’t you?” he asked glaring at her.
Sealea woke up after a bit and went looking for Harley. But had no luck with that.
Jaden got a lot of homework done, and he was still waiting for class to start. He thought he was the only one with the idea to do homework.
Harley went back to his dorm and his his paint once he was satisfied. It felt good having no one to tell him what to do. He sat on his bed thinking about the possibilities of what he could do next and fiddling with his lip ring.
“That’s not your buisness,” Aspen nearly whispered. “I’m not going to be late again.” She shouldered past him and went to her next class.
After searching the whole school, finally she thought on going over to his dorm. Sealea knocked on the door and waited for him to answer.
Again Jaden’s classes felt like they went fast. When they were all done he ran to the commen room to do his homework since no one would be there.
Sealea walked in. “I was looking for you, and what did you do to the classrooms?” She asked sitting down on his bed.
Jaden finished his homework and went up to his dorm. He was really tired.
Harley crisscrossed his legs and scooted over to make room for Sealea. “I like to think I improved them, but you know, not everyone thinks the same,” he said. “Don’t worry it’s washable…maybe.”
Aspen kept crying and crying not caring who heard. Her roommates were at the common room so she was alone.
“Yeah hopefully.” Sealea said freezing the walls of his room. She just did because she had nothing better to do.
Jaden went to Aspen’s dorm and knocked on the door. He heard someone crying and thought that he should just leave.
“What do you mean hopefully? Do you not like my art?” Harley said with fake sadness and a pouty face. He couldn’t hold it though and ended up grinning and laughing.
Aspen heard the knock and attempted to calm herself. She wiped the tears from her face and took a deep breath. “Who is it?” she asked.
“You are really good at it, but they are very serious about things like this. They may come back.” Sealea said laughing too.
“Me, Jaden.” Jaden said standing outside of the door waiting for her to open it.
“Thanks,” Harley said. “Hopefully they don’t come back. I like it like this just you…and me.” He sighed a little and ran a hand through his hair.
“O-okay you can come in,” Aspen said. She sat up and fixed her hair as best as she could. Her face was still ******* and her eyes were red and puffy though. She knew there was more tears threatening to spill out.
“But I am still wondering what happened… But we have no homework and no school.” Sealea said as she in freezes his walls.
Jaden saw her face when he walks in. “Why were you crying?” He asks.
“Yeah,” Harley said. He watched her slowly freeze his room but he did not feel any cooler. “Do you like freezing stuff or are you bored?” he asked with a small smile.
Aspen shook her head.
“It’s n-nothing,” she said. She was hoping to avoid the question but she had a feeling that wasn’t going to happen. She stared down at her feet to avoid eye contact.
“Bored.” Sealea answered continuing to freeze everything.
Jaden stares at her with disbelief. He knows that is is not true.
“Sure.” Sealea said and stopped freezing everything.
“I won’t.” Jaden said.
“Okay, so, it’s sorta like truth or dare only nicer because I feel like being nice, lucky you,” he said sticking his tounge out at her. “Anyways, we go back and forth coming up with challenges for each other and if someone backs out or is incapable of properly completing it a penalty of the challenge giver’s choice will be in order, okay?”
“Thank you,” Aspen said. She felt more tears rising and pulled her knees to her chest, crying into them. Though she wasn’t making much of a sound, she was visibly shaking.
“Ok.” Sealea said.
Jaden had no idea what to do, but he had hopes that he could find out something soon.
“You can give me a challenge first if you want,” Harley said. He wasn’t gonna lie, he was kind of nervous.
Aspen continued to cry and it just got worse when she tried to stop. Her roommates walked in talking until they saw her and instantly silenced. They saw Jaden there too.
“What did you do to her!?” one of them said confronting Jaden.
“No I think you should.” Sealea said smiling. She thought it would be best if Harley went first.
“Nothing! I did nothing!” Jaden yelled back at them.
“Okay, um, you need to go to the kitchen and eat a bowl of whatever slop you can find,” Harley said. He grinned.
“Yeah, right then why is she basically drowning in her own tears,” the other roommate said. She went over to Aspen and sat next to her trying to console her.
“Ok.” Sealea said. She got up and headed downstairs to find out what the food was.
Jaden left because he didn’t want to hadle them, and they had it under control.
Harley followed her waiting to see how this was going to turn out. The food was nearly never good here.
Aspen heard Jaden leave and cried even more. She didn’t want him too but couldn’t say anything against it. She pushed her friends off and curled up in the corner, ignoring their pestering questions, even if they were just trying to help.
Sealea ate any different slop she saw. It was horrible.
Jaden went to his dorm hoping that Aspen was alright.
Harley burst out laughing when he saw Sealea’s face. She did manage to clear the bowl though so no penalty for her. “Your turn,” he said.
Aspen’s roommates soon gave up and left her alone. She ran out of tears and fell asleep. Who knew crying could exhaust someone so much.
“I challenge you to break 12 Windows and fix them in 10 minuets.” Sealea said. It was the only challenge she could think of.
Jaden fell asleep after dinner. He was really tired once again.
“Well you better find out.” Sealea said.
Jaden woke up in the morning and ran to the commen room.
“Whatever,” Harley said. “You better be ready with a penalty because there is no way I’m gonna do this in time.” When the timer started he quickly smashed the windows with a few cuts here and there. The problem was fixing them he had glue by the pieces were small and he had no idea where they went.
Aspen facepalmed herself. She left her bag in the common room yesterday and her friends forgot to bring it back like they said. She sighed and went to get it.
Sealea sat there watching him, she knew he wouldn’t make it. Well there was still a chance he would though.
Jaden saw her walk and waved hello to her.
Harley stood there dumbly having no idea what to do. He remembered Sealea was there and his face started to get hot. “You know what, I give up,” he muttered throwing shards and glue on the ground.
Aspen saw him and guilt overwhelmed her. She felt bad for yesterday. She smiled a little and waved though.
“Ok. You have to run around the whole school.” Sealea said. The school is huge.
“Hi.” Jaden said reading his book.
Sealea smiled when he came back. “Your turn.” She said still smiling.
“No, your roommates.” Jaden said still reading his book.
“You have to…” Harley thought for a minute. “Do a hand stand for a full minute without puking,” he said confident that either the hand stand or the nauseating food she ate would stop her.
“Right, I’m really sorry. It’s just- I couldn’t-” Aspen gave up trying to word it and sighed. She saw her bag and picked it up, quickly searching to make sure everything was there.
Sealea did for a full minuet. “And… I made it.” She said.
Jaden continued to read his book. He was waiting till it would be the right time to go to class.
“I challenge you-” Sealea began to say but heard footsteps.
Jaden got up and headed to his classes. He had hopes he didn’t have any more tests.
Sealea saw a girl coming but it was dark so couldn’t see who. She continued to be frozen.
Jaden had only one test, but it wasn’t hard at all.
Still being in the kitchen had its advantages. Harley flicked his head towards the pantry door and they went inside as quietly as possible. It was better to be safe than sorry.
Aspen was thrilled once lunch came because class had not been good at all. Professor Dovy requested a chat with her later as well which couldn’t be good.
“Who is that?” Sealea asked although she was sure there was going to be no answer to it.
Jaden saw her at lunch when she arrived and walked over to her. “Hi.” He said walking next to her.
“Oh, great.” Sealea whispered.
Jaden walked over to his friends and waved bye to Aspen. He was hungry.
“Yep,” Harley said. The figure was nearing the closet and Harley placed a finger to his lips.
Aspen nodded and went to her own friends before she was dragged away by an infuriated Aieken. He brought her through the tunnel of trees and down the halls till they were in an empty groom room.
The figure opened the door. Sealea had her eyes closed. She didn’t want to see whoever it was.
Jaden and his friends talked about the normal stuff. When Jaden looked over to Aspen’s group of friends he didn’t she Aspen with them.
A girl stood there, staring at Harley and Sealea. She looked maybe 14 but was small and scrawny with stringy blonde hair and grey eyes. Harley stared back and nudged Sealea.
Aieken took a minute to stare at Aspen’s exhausted and miserable face. She knew he was trying to let his rage sink in and just stood there with a distant look in her eyes.
“I don’t know this person.” Sealea said. Just then Ellis comes out from behind the girl.
Jaden still couldn’t see Aspen and it was time to go to their next class. He was about to look for her but she must be alright.
“Ugh, it’s her,” Harley said, sure that Ellis could hear. He wasn’t lying when he said he didn’t like her. The girl in front glared at him.
“Please leave me alone,” Aspen said to Aieken. He smirked.
“Aw, that’s cute. But no,” he said. He was fully aware of the pain he caused her last night but it didn’t effect him.
Sealea just sat there looking at the ground.
Jaden was bored waiting for class to start. But so he did his homework again while he waited.
The girl quickly grabbed Harley by his hair and held a knife to his throat.
“I wouldn’t mess with me or my friends boy, because I can have you decapitated in 30 seconds,” she sneered into his ear. This didn’t phase Harley.
“And to who do I owe the pleasure of my decapitation,” he said with a grin.
Aieken planted a kiss on Aspen’s lips before waving and going to class. Aspen kicked the wall before going to class as well.
Sealea snached the knife out of her hands and threw it across the floor.
After classes were done Jaden went to the commen room once again.
The girl’s attention was now directed at Sealea and Harley took a step away from her. As she remembered what she was here for, she refocused.
“Now which one of you belongs in Wonderland?” she asked.
Aspen went to the Dean’s office and her talk with Dovey was a quick one, just a few basic reminders and such. Aspen decided to do her homework there though.
Sealea turned and stared at Harley.
Jaden finished the rest of his homework and just talked to his friends.
“How did you know that,” he growled at the girl. He knew for a fact that he told no one. The girl smiled.
“I have my ways. And believe me, you wouldn’t want to know what else I know, or should I say, who.” She grinned at Harley.
When her homework was finished, Aspen immediately went to find Jaden.
Sealea steps out of the pantry and goes to stand next to Ellis.
Jaden saw Aspen walk in and waved to her. “Hi Aspen.” He said.
“Anyways, your assistance is needed in Wonderland so you’re going to need to come with me,” the girl said.
“Under who’s orders?” Harley asked, narrowing his eyes.
“The Queen,” she stated simply. “Ellis will be coming as well so don’t worry about being lonely. And no outsiders allowed.” She eyed Sealea suspiciously.
Aspen saw his friends and frowned.
“Can I talk to you? Alone?” she asked. His friends were staring a little and she looked away.
Sealea waved bye and left.
“Sure.” Jaden said and got up and followed Aspen.
Harley knew two things, a) this girl was the cause of a dissapearing student body and b) he did NOT want to help the ****** Queen.
“Yeah, that’s not happening,” he said pulling a rabbit hole out of his magic top hat. He placed it on the ground but couldn’t go through it.
“Thought you would try that,” the girl said and in a second he was back in wonderland with her and Ellis. Meanwhile, everyone at school reappeared unphased.
Aspen heard whistles and crude comments as they left and she rolled her eyes. When they got to a reasonably secure spot, she stopped.
“I need your help,” she said. Her eyes were practically pleading themselves.
Sealea practiced her magic. She was hoping that Ellis would be left behind but she knew it wouldn’t happen.
“What do you need?” Jaden asked. Why was she asking him?
“Now that we are out of that wretched place, I’m Grey, Jabberwoky in training. You will refer to me only as Grey no matter what else you hear or know otherwise I will **** your throat, got it?” the girl said to Harley and Ellis. He rolled his eyes and nodded.
“Okay so, this is a little strange to ask and stuff, but,” Adpen twirled her fingers and avoided his face. “I can’t handle Aieken anymore but I can’t get away from him, so I was wondering if you would maybe help keep me away because my friends are a little unreliable and yeah.” She spoke quickly and awkwardly.
Sealea walked around the school hoping to find some other person walking around the school but had no luck finding anyone.
“Sure, but how?” Jaden asked.
“Wait but you don’t look like a Jabberwoky,” Harley pointed out.
“Do you really wanna see that?” Grey asked. Her Jabberwoky side was quite unstable. Harley shook his head. “Great. Well then, onwards to the Queen’s palace!”
“Um, yeah I hadn’t quite figured that out yet,” Aspen said. “Got any ideas?”
Sealea finally found someone she knew.
“Nope.” Jaden said. He kept on trying to think of something but had nothing coming.
Harley followed cautiously behind Grey with Ellis next to him. He hadn’t been in Wonderland in a long time and he didn’t know what had changed. The flowers surely hadn’t because he found them just as annoying.
“Well, I don’t want to get you hurt,” Aspen said. “What if we start there and build off it. Like, it probably wouldn’t be a good idea for me to constantly be hovering around you, so, how about just going to and from places like class?” she suggested.
Sealea started to talk to the person because she had nothing better to do.
“Ok.” Jaden agreed. He was down with the idea. Plus he still had no ideas, and didn’t want to waste his time thinking of another one.
The trio reached the courtyard and whispers were exchanged among odd subjects.
“Hey, if you know so much about me then why couldn’t he have come here?” Harley asked Grey.
“Simple he is not evil. Well, not evil enough that is,” she said approaching the card guard monitoring the gates.
“Thank you!” Aspen said. “You’re a really good friend. I’ll let you get back to whatever you were doing.” She gave him a quick hug before walking down the hall.
Sealea went back to her dorm. She was bored and just sat down on her bed.
Jaden went back to his friends and joined in on what they were talking about.
Grey handed the guard something and the gates opened. A girl with pure white hair and rabbit ears escorted them to the throne room where Her Highness sat tall and proud beckoning them closer.
Aspen went to her dorm and sighed a breath of relief as she sat on her bed. She pulled out a small sketch book and doodled a little.
Sealea then took out a jar with gray butterflies in it. She let them free to fly around her dorm.
After a bit Jaden went to his dorm to study a bit. He wanted to rock the next test he would have.
“You are dismissed!” the Queen hollard even though no one else was around. Grey bowed and walked away down a corridor. Harley scowled at the Red Queen who only smiled back.
Aspen soon surrendered her poor art to her books as after today’s preformance, she really needed study time.
Sealea got all of her homework done, but her butterflies burnt half of her desk while doing it. She didn’t really care though. After that she went out in the hallway to fool around.
Jaden got a lot down within the hour that he had to study. The reason he had such a short amount of time was because he had to meet the teachers.
“The dear son of Alice,” the Queen started, “what a pleasure it is to see you again after all these years. Oh, and of course your friend, Ellis, right dear?” Harley quickly stood infront of Ellis. Even if he didn’t like her, Sealea did.
“You won’t touch her, ****** Queen,” he snarled.
Aspen’s roommates noisily walked into the room, chattering away about some event. Then Aspen remembered. There was a school assembly in the Theater later! She quickly checked the time and saw there was only a half hour until then.
Sealea was proud that her talent was improving more and more. She will soon be the best at it. She will be the world’s best trickster.
Jaden walked down to where all the teachers are. He didn’t know why they wanted to meet with him, but whatever.
“Oh, I wouldn’t dream of it darling. Not while I need you that is,” the Queen of Hearts stated, casually checking her manicure. She clapped her hands, “Servant, I need a servant!” A frog in a suit came out from behind a curtain walking on two legs. She quickly commanded him to retrieve her nail person. Harley couldn’t help but think, who would need one of those?!
Professor Dovey stepped out of her office and greeted Jaden, hastily escorting him into her office where Lady Lesso and a few other teachers were waiting.
“We are pressed on time so we are going to have to make this quick, I suppose you know why you are here?” She gestured for him to take a seat and then sat in her own.
Sealea went back into her dorm to put her butterflies in their jar. They went right in when she commanded them to.
“Nope, not at all.” Jaden said calmly trying not to worrie that he is in trouble. There is always a chance he could be, and he didn’t want that to happen.
“Well? Get on with it! I would like to be in your presence for as little as possible!” Harley shouted. The Queen’s face turned a deep shade of furious red.
“OFF WITH THEIR-” She quickly composed herself and scowled. “Just bring out the prisoner,” she commanded the frog.
Professor Dovey sighed.
“Well, there is actually several reasons. I guess we will start with the good ones first. Uma?” Princess Uma nodded her head.
“Well, Jaden, you are a very impressive student being only a second-year. As you have nearly perfect scores, you are automatically entered onto the ballot for Snow King for the Snow Ball which we are announcing later, hence the small timeframe.”
Sealea went down to the commen room to just hang out at. She was bored basically.
“That’s great. What else do you need me for?” Jaden asked. He was wondering what the bad things were, but that will wait.
A short woman with golden blonde hair walked out escorted by guards with her head down and bound by chains. She was wearing various garments from the Queens court. Harley’s eyes widened and a word slipped out of his mouth, “Mum?!”
The woman’s head shot up in surprise. She saw Harley and started running to him before she was ****** back by her chains.
Uma glanced at Lady Lesso who began to say something before Castor cut her off.
“YOU STOLE A STUDENT’S POSSESION AND THEN TURNED IT IN TO MY BROTHER SAYING IT WAS STOLEN BY THE STUD-”
“Castor!” Lady Lesso shouted. “Enough! Jaden, care to explain.”
Sealea started to talk to someone. It was just a random person. They actually were becoming friends.
“I didn’t steal it! Aieken did and I am not lying!” Jaden said.
“Yes, dear old mummy. I believe she’s on schedule to be executed today, right?” the Queen asked no one in particular. A frog stepped up and responded.
“Yes, Madame. Tea-time entertainment to be exact.” The Red Queen smiled while Harley finally shut his mouth and shrugged. Him and his mother had never really gotten along. She always liked his brother more.
“Alright, everyone. No need to ye-” Dovey started.
“Why would another one of the best Good students steal something, mind you in highly questioning it now. Besides, we have seen proof, the sword is rightfully his and we cannot let your actions go unpunished,” Lesso said, with a hard look in Jaden’s direction.
Sealea was getting more and more bored.
“If I had stole it why would I hand it back to a teacher?” Jaden asked starting to calm down.
Seeing Harley’s reaction, the Queen commanded her card soldiers to release Alice who ran straight for her son. The Queen was extremely dissapointed. She needed something, or someone, to motivate Harley into doing what she needed because he wouldn’t do it otherwise. She called Grey back and told her the new plans. She later returned holding Sealea captive behind the blood red curtains with a bandana in her mouth.
“Oh, I don’t know, maybe in hope that it wouldn’t be returned to Aieken. But that is besides the point,” Lesso said. She looked at the clock which showed only five minutes until the assembly. “You are to clean the groom room twice a week, after school, with the custodian, for a month and we will know if you do not. Now off with you to the Theatre.
Aspen already had taken a seat and her friends were on her right side.
Sealea stared angrily at Grey. She tried to speak but it was no hope. She stopped trying.
Jaden walked to the theater. He couldn’t spot Aspen in the crowd of people.
Jaden was not in the mood to talk to his friends. He was wishing he had never turned in the sword.
“Enough with the mush and bonding!” the Queen shouted as the guards took Alice away again. Though, there wasn’t much bonding going on. Most of it was Alice trying to gain forgiveness but that was never Harley’s thing. Ellis was looking on from behind when she frantically pointed to something ahead. Grey had just shoved Sealea to the Queen’s side but still held tightly to the chains. Harley felt his insides fill with rage. The ****** Queen was not going to get the best of him.
The seats on Aspen’s other side were quickly filled with Aieken and his other friends. She scooted as far in the other direction but sighed when he wrapped his arm around her shoulders and slid her back.
Sealea was calm about it. She was just hoping nothing bad would happen to her. She was glad she got away from boring old school though.
Jaden took a seat by random. He just waited till they would start the assembly.
The Queen, now satisfied, got down from her throne and wow was she short! She circled Sealea and smiled with a grin worthy of the Cheshire Cat. Harley quickly approached her and jabbed a finger a her face.
“If you so much as put a single finger on her I will personally send you to the underworld myself,” he said.
Dovey walked onstage and quieted the mass of Evers gathered in the Theatre of Tales.
“Goodevening Evers,” she said. “If you haven’t already guessed, we are here to discuss the upcoming annual Snow Ball.” Murmurs of excitement passed through the room. Aspen herself was a bit neutral. She had never been a big fan of parties…not that she had ever been invited to one.
Sealea was wondering what the Queen wanted with her. She was just hoping it was not to kill her.
Jaden was not really paying. He was not really interested.
“Oh, touchy are we!” the Queen said. “Well, dear, if you do what I need you to, you can have your little girlfriend back.”
“She’s not my girlfriend,” Harley mumbled and looked away for a second. “What do you want.” He once again made eye contact.
Aspen started to get lost in her thoughts but she heard a few things about committees and King and Queen and blah, blah, blah. Finally, everyone was dismissed. She got up and was shoved around in the crowd of Evers as she made her way to the door.
Sealea was laughing from the inside. Because she couldn’t really do it.
Jaden walked back to his dorm. He was glad the assembly was over. It was boring.
An ear splitting series of screeches was sent out. Harley counted three.
“Oh! It’s Tea Time! Goody! Care to join me dears?” the Queen asked Harley and Ellis. When niether responded she shrugged. “More for me then.” A table covered with anything anyone could ever want at a tea party appeared and she sat down to eat.
Once Aspen had made it out the door -alive thank goodness!- she went to the common room for no reason in particular. Well, except that her roommates forced her.
Sealea was stuck there looking at the table. She wished she could eat all the treats. But she can’t, which stunk.
Jaden grabbed a book from his dorm and headed down to uh commen room. When he got there it was crowded.
When the Queen was distracted, Harley sneaked a cookie from one of the many trays and then went over to Sealea almost silently. He removed her gag and whispered, “Thought you might want one of these.”
He handed her the cookie and led her behind one of the curtains where Ellis was waiting.
Aspen’s friends were gossiping in a small group about the Snow Ball so she stood slightly back and watched because she wasn’t very intrested. It was just a bunch of who is going with who and who’s going to sign up for committee.
“Thanks.” Sealea whispered. She sat down on the floor.
Jaden walked over Aspen. “Hi.” He said.
Jaden’s friends were no where to be seen. He had no idea where they were.
“No problem,” Harley said. “We need to get out of here though. Luckily, I think I know who can help. C’mon.”
Harley started walking down the hall looking for one particular door.
“Oh, hi,” Aspen said. She looked at him and frowned. “You look upset. What happened?”
“Who?” Sealea asked. She just couldn’t help herself but wonder who. Sealea started to chew down the cookie as she waited for a answer to it.
“Well when I turned in the sword they thought I stole it and now I have to clean the groom room. For twice a week for a whole month. So, yeah.” Jaden said. He was still not happy about the whole thing.
“Grey,” Harley stated. “She’s smart, I’ll give her that and I’m positive I can convince her with my fabulous looks.” He grinned back at Sealea.
“Oh! I’m sorry! I can help out if you want,” Aspen said. She didn’t have much else to do after school anyways and she had never really minded cleaning. She also felt this was partially her fault.
“Yeah, right.” Sealea said and smiled. She continued to follow Harley down the long hallway.
“No, you don’t have to.” Jaden said. He didn’t want her to get in trouble if the teachers saw them.
“Shut up,” Harley joked. “But seriously, I can convince her.” The trio approached a door that looked no different from the rest. “Here we are.” Harley knocked and waited.
Sealea waited for the door to open. “Well if you say so.” Sealea said still waiting.
“Ok. I don’t know about you but that assembly was super boring.” Jaden said taking one of the open seats.
Grey opened the door and quickly drew her sword when she saw who was there. She was about to yell for back up when Harley’s hand shot over her mouth.
“I don’t think you wanna do that,” he said pushing her sword away, “because I’ve got what you want.” Grey sheathed the sword and spat on his hand so he would remove it.
“You don’t even know what I want,” she said.
“I know. The Snow Ball, not one of my intrests,” Aspen said. She took the seat next to him. “I don’t understand what makes it so fun, being forced to wear fancy clothing that is too tight and having to dance. But that’s just me.”
Sealea just stared at Grey. She had no clue what to do. Ellis was doing the same thing.
“Well I automatically got signed up for the you know. That was before I got told to clean the groom room.” Jaden said. He just then noticed that his French were heading out the door.
Grey caught Sealea’s eye, “What!” she said glaring. Harley regained her attention when he held up his hat.
“Freedom,” he said simply. Jabberwokys never liked to be confined, much less told what to do by a ****** Queen.
Aspen giggled a little. “Well you have fun with that your Highness,” she said smiling. “Or should I call you the janitor? I don’t know which is better.”
Sealea rolled her eyes at Grey. For no reason at all. She didn’t like Grey anyway.
“None, because I am neither.” Jaden said.
Grey’s eyes widened. He really did know what she wanted.
“All you have to do is uncharm it,” Harley said, tauntingly waving it in front of her. She huffed and pulled a vile of powder out of her satchel. She blew some on the hat and Harley could feel it burst to life. “Good girl! After you,” he said gesturing to the newly found rabbit hole on the ground. They linked hands and jumped in.
Aspen stuck her tounge out. “You’re no fun,” she said. “If you let me call you Mr. Janitor you can call me whatever you want. I promise.”
When it ended Sealea was really dizzy. She couldn’t walk straight. She kept walking into their surroundings.
“Fine, but what should I call you?” Jaden asked as he stuck out his tounge.
Harley picked up the rabbit hole they came out of and stuffed it inside the hat. They were back in the clearing only students and teachers were here. He gripped Sealea’s shoulders to keep her in one spot.
“Yeah, I probably should have warned you about that,” he said.
“I dunno Mr. Janitor. Whatever you and your friends come up with,” Aspen said, grinning widely.
“Thanks.” Sealea said staring at Grey when she got into focus.
“No problem,” Harley said. He took a step back once she was steady. Grey matched Sealea’s glare before she examined her surroundings. She saw two massive towers: one glimmering in light and the other slinking in darkness.
“Where are we?” she asked.
“Well, let me know when you do Mr. Janitor because I have stuff to do,” Aspen said. She waved and pushed her way through the ever so massive crowds of the common room.
“No problem,” Harley said. Once she was steady he took a step back. Grey was a bit dizzy herself but quickly steadied and matched Sealea’s glare. She examined her surroundings. There were two huge towers: one shining bright in sunshine, the other slinking through darkness.
“Where are we?” she asked.
“Well I’ve got stuff to do so let me know when you think of something,” Aspen said. She waved and pushed her way through the ever so massive crowds of the common room.
Sealea continued to glare at Grey. She sat down on the ground just because.
Jaden waved to her be joined his friends. They were really loud when he sat down next to them.
“Well, that sickly glob of glittery pinkness is the School for Good and that epic school right there would be the School for Evil where you will be staying until we figure this whole situation out,” Harley said.
“Oh. I’m not like enrolling or anything am I? Because I don’t like school,” Grey said. Her eyes fell back into a glare at Sealea.
Aspen went to her dorm and changed into nice fluffy pajamas.
Aieken plopped into a chair in the common room, exasperated. Faybelle followed close behind arguing with him.
“I don’t understand why you want to break up!” she said.
“No, Faybelle, we did break up. It’s over!” Aieken retorted. Her lip started to quiver.
“B-But you said oh would take me to the snow ball!”
Sealea was glad that she wasn’t. She smiled when she said it and continued to glare at Grey.
When Jaden turned around he saw Aieken. When he did he hoped he would not be noticed by him.
“No, you can hang out in my dorm or something. Maybe Sealea’s but it’s best to stay out of teachers sight,” Harley said. Grey nodded. He walked over to the tunnel of trees and peered inside to make sure the coast was clear. He gestured for everyone to follow.
Aieken’s friends had begun to gradually appear around them. Danny whispered something in his ear and he glanced back to see Jaden with his friends.
“Bye, Faybelle,” he said and confidently strolled over to Jaden smiling. “What do we have here? Loser boy’s actually got some friends?”
Sealea nodded her head no at Harley. She was not going to let Grey stay in her dorm at all.
“Yeah I do.” Jaden said. All of his stood up behind him. He crossed his arms.
“Okay well are we all going to my place or…” Harley trailed off and waited for a response as he walked through the empty halls. Everyone must be in class.
“Ooooo! We’re so scared!” Aieken said mockingly. “But if it’s a fight you want it’s a fight you can have. I’ve been wanting to do this a long time.” Luckily, it was getting late and people were clearing out anyways.
“I guess.” Sealea said. She was not going to go to class to be asked so many questions.
“That’s not what was on my mind.” Jaden said. He knew that Aieken wouldn’t listen to him though. He was prepared.
“Okay,” Harley said. They safely made it to his dorm. He plopped into his bed and sighed. His tounge flicked his lip ring back and forth as he thought about how this was going to work out. He forgot the others were standing there.
“Of course it wasn’t ’cause you probably can’t fight to save your life,” Aieken said, grinning. He held up his fists ready to throw or block a punch.
Sealea sat down on the ground. Ellis joined her. “What you doin?” Sealea asked staring at Hatley.
“No, I could. But if you want to fight and ruin everyone’s trust for you then I totally will. So are you willing to have someone see this?” Jaden asked. Jaden waited for a response. Jaden saw one of his friends friends in a corner behind Aieken’s friends, he gave Jaden a thumbs up.
“Hmm,” Harley said. He glanced over at Sealea and came back to reality. “Oh right. I was just thinking.” He sat up and crossed his legs as a cup of tea appeared in front of him. He took a sip and looked at Grey who eyed his tea from her spot against the wall. “You could just ask you know,” he said as a cup of tea appeared in front of her as well. “Anyone else?”
“Do you think me a fool, boy? Why would we fight here? Hence why we are going elsewhere,” Aieken said. He pointed his ring at the floor between them and they appeared in the middle of the blue forest with their friends. “Now this is a much more appealing place, don’t you agree?” Aieken’s friends clearly had the advantage in terms of muscle compared to Jaden and even Aieken himself. Danny was grinning, most definitely looking for a good fight.
“Nope.” Sealea said. She was not interested in tea. It is not something she likes.
“Ok.” Jaden said. He had a plan, he hoped that it would work and everything will end alright for him. And his friends of course.
Harley suddenly got a strange feeling. It definitely wasn’t good. It felt as if it were pulling him somewhere. He couldn’t think of any harm it would be to follow it though.
“Um, can you guys excuse me for a second,” he said before running out the door. He somehow knew where to go.
Aspen had finally gotten her cast off and no longer needed crutches. She had forgotten this was going to happen until the nurse approached her. Now excited, she went to find Jaden and show him. She looked through the common room and his dorm but he wasn’t in either places so she wandered into the clearing which was empty as well.
Aieken grinned and got in a hand to hand combat stance. His fists were infront of his face waiting to block the first punch.
Sealea glared at Grey. She was not going to last a day with her. “Wow.” Sealea said.
Jaden waited to take his first move. He was not going to do it right away. That would not end well.
Grey glared right back.
“What’s your deal?” she asked, her voice twinged with anger.
Harley kept walking until he ended up in the clearing where a girl was sitting clearly in deep thought.
The girl, unbeknownst to Harley, was Aspen. She was still trying to come up with an explanation to where Jaden was. Maybe he went to a friends dorm?
Aieken saw Jaden’s hesitation and took it as an opportunity. He threw a punch and hit him square in his jaw.
“Oh, nothing.” Sealea said still looking at Grey. Why was she angry though? She was ready to go back to her dorm though.
Jaden punched him back as hard as he could. Which was pretty hard.
Grey said nothing but looked away. She has done nothing and all she keeps getting are ***** looks from Sealea.
Harley was thoroughly confused. The strange tingling stopped but what was he supposed to do with ANOTHER girl. Not to mention, and Ever at that! He took a step forward and of course he stepped on a dead leaf.
Aspen heard a crunch and whipped her head towards the sound. A Never was standing there but for how long she didn’t know. She quickly stood up and brushed herself off considering if she should ask him if he had seen Jaden but then realized there was no point.
Aieken stumbled back a little from the blow. He definitely wasn’t expecting that. He choked back a yell and landed a kick to Jaden’s gut to make him double over.
Sealea sat up and left to go to her dorm. Was gone so what could she do there? She knew she had some unfinished homework though why not do that.
Jaden backwards. When he got his balence he punched Aieken again.
Grey slunk to the ground and awaited Harley’s return.
Suddenly Harley’s brain did all the talking. “Have you seen an Everboy with blonde hair and blue eyes who’s pretty popular?” he asked the girl.
“Aieken?” she asked. “I haven’t seen him. And I’m guessing you haven’t seen a different Everboy eit-” She was cut off by a boy-ish scream arising from the Blue Forest. They exchanged glances and went running in, following the sound.
Aieken blocked the punch but one of his friends was attacked and let out a loud scream. His arm flopped next to him posed unnaturally.
Sealea got the page of homewor done. She sat down on her bed glad that all of her homework was over. It was hard work.
Jaden was surprised that happened. The truth is he made it happen to himself.
Harley and Aspen came crashing through the trees together and gracefully-okay that’s a lie-ungracefully tripped falling on top of one another.
Aieken immediately forgot about the fight and his friend’s broken arm when he saw Aspen and his brother fall. They quickly untangled their limbs and awkwardly stood up.
Sealea went down to the commen room. She had nothing better to do right now.
Jaden looked at them. He did a little wave at Aspen. He was frozen other than that motion.
Aspen waved back but then frowned.
“What are you guys doing here and why is his arm broken?” she asked gesturing to Aieken’s friend.
“Wow, Evers ask a lot of questions!” Harley said.
“Shut up,” Aspen said elbowing him hard in the arm.
“We could be asking you the same thing,” Aieken said, clearly not happy.
The commen room started filling up with people. When it was full Sealea just decided to leave. She went go see if Harley was back yet.
Jaden continued to Just stand there and let the conversation continue without him. He did not want to make it worse.
“Well…I asked you first so…yeah,” Aspen said, not sure what else to say. Aieken walked over to her and his eyes softened.
“Why don’t you go back to school and forget about this, alright?” he said tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear. Aspen felt the strange need to comply but shook her head.
“No. I want answers and I want them now!” she said. Aieken was taken aback and remembered Harley was there.
“You! What did you do?!” he asked. The persuasion should have worked.
Sealea knocked on Harley’s door. She waited to see if he would answer it. There was still a chance he wouldn’t though.
Jaden was going to let Aieken answer the question. He was going to just be silent the whole time until there was a question for him.
Grey opened the door a crack and scowled when she saw Sealea. “Yes?” she asked.
“I didn’t do anything! I just met her like 10 minutes ago!” Harley said. “To heck with it, I don’t even know her name!”
Aspen had finally had enough. Everyone was getting on her nerves.
“STOP!” she yelled. “I’ve never liked you, ever, no matter what you feel for me,” she said to Aieken. She turned to Harley. “I just met you and I already don’t like you.” Finally she went over to Jaden. “And I can’t believe that you would even try to fight Aieken! You could’ve gotten hurt! Now I don’t know about the lot of you but I’m out of here.” Aspen turned around and ran out of the forest, angry and upset.
“Oh you, I just was checking if Harley was back yet.” Sealea said starting to walk away. She was not going to stick around talking to Grey.
Jaden stood there staring at the direction left in. He hen looked down at the ground not knowing what to do now.
Grey slammed the door and examined the dorm for the first time. It was a bit disorganized but tidy at the same time.
Harley turned and started walking back to his dorm but not before giving Aieken a hard punch to the shoulder.
Aieken gathered his friends and as they walked to the nurse they brainstormed excuses for his friends’ injuries.
Aspen went straight to her dorm where her friends were lounging and comparing homework. Well, until she came in and they immediately put all attention on her asking what was wrong and other things.
Sealea went and sat down in the hallway. She knew it was still crowded in the commen room, so what was the point in going? She was glad she brought her butterflies. She took them and to let them fly. They knew to stay near because hey knew what happened if they didn’t.
Jaden walked back to his dorm. His roommate was there when he arrived. Jaden saw he was sorting something.
Harley stomped past Sealea not noticing she was there and went into his dorm where Grey was messing with his calculator.
“Don’t touch stuff,” he grumbled and threw a blanket and pillow at her. Grey flashed him a glare and set up her makeshift bed snuggling up to the blanket and falling asleep almost instantly.
Aspen soon convinced her friends everything was fine and drifted to sleep on her bed, eager for this day to end.
Sealea contained to mess around. She didn’t notice that Hatley had passed her. She then collected them all into her jar and began to walk back to her dorm. She was getting sleepy.
Jaden fell asleep after a bit.
When it was morning Jaden went right down to class even though he was really tired he wanted to get there early.
Harley went to sleep soon later and he woke up feeling as if he had gotten no sleep at all. Grey was still asleep, curled up in a little ball on the floor with the blanket half on her. He was careful to avoid her and changed in his closet. He left a note and went to class early.
Aspen sighed when she awoke to the sunrise. Sleep had done her no good and she still felt stressed and tense. She changed and made her way through the halls, eventually reaching the classroom.
When Sealea arrived at the classroom she saw Harley. “Hi.” She said taking her seat.
Everyone else started to arrive into the class room after a few minuets. So that meant class was going to start soon too.
“Why are you so tired?” Sealea asked. She wondered he head stayed up all night for no reason at all.
Class had started and they just went over the stuff they learned last time. It was boring.
“Ok.” Sealea said turning around so she can face the teacher. She was ready if there would be a test by surprise.
Jaden went down to lunch. He even ran just because he was really hungry. Super hungry.
“Pop-quiz time!” the teacher sing-songed and began passing out the papers. Harley groaned along with most of the class and scanned the sheet that was placed in front of him.
Aspen’s stomach growled and she blushed realizing she hadn’t eaten since the previous day’s lunch. When she reached the line she greedily took her basket, not forgetting to say thank you, and looked for somewhere or someone to sit with.
Sealea was ready for the quiz. She saw what was on it which made her even more confident.
Jaden sat down in a empty spot. His friends have not arrived at lunch yet. Many people haven’t yet.
Long-story short, Harley failed his quiz…and the challenge…badly. He trudged to lunch miserably. Along the way he had a series of awkward sneezes.
Aspen couldn’t find anyone and assumed her friends hadn’t arrived yet so she claimed a spot at the base of a tree alone.
Sealea walked down to lunch. She took whatever they had and sat down waiting to see if Ellis would come soon. She started eating a waiting.
Not many people arrived after a few minuets. But some did. Jaden friends weren’t there yet though.
Harley realized he forgot to wait for Sealea and couldn’t find her so he went to their usual spot hoping she would show up. Instead, he found Aspen sitting there reading and munching on the chicken tenders from her lunch basket. He cleared his throat.
“Ahem.” Aspen looked up, startled and quickly gathered her things.
“I-I’m sorry! I didn’t know this was your spot! I-I just-” Harley stopped her.
“Your fine. And…can you do me a favor?”
Sealea saw Harley and ran over to him. She then noticed Aspen was standing there. “Who is this?” Sealea asked. She has never seen the girl.
Jaden friends finally arrived and he waved them over. They then came over and talked about the normal things.
“Oh, um, hey Sealea. We had a run in yesterday is all and she was in our spot so…yeah,” Harley said. He dismissed Aspen and took his seat closing his eyes.
Aspen walked away. That whole thing was weird. Luckily, she found her friends and easily fell into conversation with them although, Aspen couldn’t help but wonder what the boy from yesterday wanted.
Sealea sat down. She finished her lunch fast and left. She was the first one to arrive at class.
Jaden and his friends all went to their next classes. Je hoped he wouldn’t have a test today. He was sure he wouldn’t do well.
Harley nearly fell asleep but was forced back into reality by the thundering footsteps going past him. He got up and followed the train of Nevers into the school and to class.
Aspen quickly walked to her next class not wanting to get stuck in the crowds. Her mood was slowly improving as time went on.
Sealea was fine with the rest of her classes. They had zero test. That did make her happy.
After all of Jaden’s classes were finished he cleaned the groom room and went down to the commen room. He hoped his friends were there when he arrived.
Harley survived his classes having only fallen asleep once. Afterwards, he decided to check on Grey and went back to his dorm.
Aspen finished her classes and the teacher asked her to pick berries for tomorrow’s lesson. She went up to Merlin’s Menegrie to do so.
Sealea walked back to her dorm. When she got there everything was a mess. She had to clean it. It was taking forever.
Jaden’s friends weren’t there but he stayed anyway. He took a seat anywhere that was empty.
Harley walked into his dorm which was completely trashed and Grey was nowhere to be seen. He slammed the door.
“GREY!!” he yelled. A medium sized Jabberwoky crawled out of the closet looking at the ground guiltily. She slunk back for a minute and came back as a human. “What did you do?!”
“I-My Jabberwoky form was uncomfortable and got the better of me… I told you it was unstable,” she said.
Aspen finished and returned the basket of berries to the teacher. She walked through the halls trying to decide what she wanted to do.
When she finished cleaning she went down to the commen room. She was not sure where else to go.
Jaden waited for his friends to arrive because they always come. But it was taking hem a long time.
“Don’t even try to put this on me! You need to get control of that thing!” Harley said. Grey looked genuinely hurt and stormed out of the room. It wasn’t her fault! Harley kicked the wall and started picking stuff up, throwing it wherever there was space.
Aspen decided to knock out her homework first and headed back to her dorm. It didn’t take her very long and she soon grew bored again.
Sealea saw Ellis and went and sat down next to her. They soon got deep into conversation.
Jaden waited even longer. He then decided to go back to his dorm he was not going to wait any longer.
Harley soon realized the fault in all this, Grey wasn’t supposed to be here and he let her go out in the hall unattended. He facepalmed himself and jogged out of the room to go look for Grey.
Meanwhile, Grey was doing a little exploring. She hadn’t encountered anyone but had been through a few classrooms and what seemed to be the kitchen where she didn’t hesitate to take some food.
Aspen decided to go to the common room because that was probably where her friends were. She went down there but couldn’t see through the crowd of Evergirls and boys chatting.
Sealea went go back to her dorm. As she was walking she spotted Grey wandering the hallways. “What are you doing?” Sealea asked.
Jaden went back up to his dorm to do his homework.
Grey jumped and spun around.
“Oh. I was just exploring a little,” she stated.
Harley was still searching the halls.
“Curse this school for being so huge,” he muttered under his breath.
Aspen finally found her friends and they conversed, mostly about the Snow Ball so Aspen wasn’t too interested.
“Ok, I don’t really care if you get caught.” Sealea said walking away. Really she didn’t care it was Harley’s job to make sure she doesn’t get in trouble.
Jaden finished his homework really fast. It was all so easy. When he finished he went back down to the commen room.
Harley heard voices from an adjoining hall and ran around the corner in panic that it was Grey. In his haste, he crashed into Sealea and fell on the floor groaning.
Aspen saw Jaden and broke away from her friends. She went over and said, “I’m sorry,” avoiding eye contact.
Sealea continued to walk back to her dorm. She was going to let them hadle everything themselves.
“It’s ok.” Jaden said. He was happy when he saw that his friends finally came.
Harley momentarily forgot what he was supposed to be doing as he clutched his head. An agonizing surge of pain flooded through it and he let out a small yell. He must’ve bashed it off the ground harder than he thought. Grey panicked. She was mad, but was she mad enough to leave him here like this? Sealea had already gone so she couldn’t help.
“Y-you’re not mad?!” Aspen asked, bewildered. She finally looked up. She had been expecting him to be angry or something.
Sealea fed her butterflies when she got back. She only fed them once a month. They were so hungry they all ate their dinner in only a few bits. Which that dose not seem normal at all.
Jaden nodded his head. “Why did you think I was?” He said.
Grey finally gave in and kneeled on the floor next to him. She lifted his head gently to find her hands smeared with blood-and a lot of it at that. She swore under her breath.
“I’ll be right back, okay?” she said. Harley managed a small squeak as a response and she ran off to find a nurse or teacher.
“W-Well yeah. I mean I did kind of snap at you and everything, b-but I was scared and I didn’t know what to do and…” Aspen trailed off realizing she was rambling, again. Tears started to well up in her eyes for no apparent reason.
Sealea got bored again. She nothing to do. When she was walking down the stairs she saw a teacher. She knew that it was not a good sign. She walked over and poked on Grey’s shoulder. She was wondering what happened, but she couldn’t see over them.
“I know.” Jaden said. He was didn’t know why she cared so much.
Grey had returned back to Harley with the nurse, Lady Lesso, and another teacher, two of which were attending to Harley. She received a poke to the shoulder and saw Sealea standing there. Without saying a word she stepped to the side so she could have a view of where Harley was lying on the ground with his eyes shut but still breathing.
Sealea looked down at Harley. “Is he going to be ok?” Asked Sealea. She looked at both of the teachers a Grey, hoping one would give her an answer. If they didn’t that is bad.
Jaden waved bye and walked over to his friends and sat down. He joined into the conversation fast.
“T-They don’t know,” Grey said. “He hit his head pretty hard and lost a lot of blood.” She watched as the nurse carefully mopped blood, both fresh and dried, from the floor and Harley’s head.
Aspen waved and went to her dorm, not wanting to get involved with the Snow Ball conversation again.
“Well that was not the answer I was looking for.” Sealea said. She was hoping the answer would be that he was ok.
After a bit Jaden went back to his dorm. Once he got there he clean up his side of the room. Hen he went to sleep.
Grey nodded and silently watched on. Lady Lesso sent Sealea back to her dorm and requested a chat with Grey. Only then did she realize what she had done. Lady Lesso surly knew Grey wasn’t a student and she went into a brief moment of panic before following.
Aspen breathed a sigh of relief as she collapsed on her bed after her shower. She drifted off to sleep soon after.
When Sealea got to her dorm she just started to do random things. She had nothing to do.
In the morning Jaden went to class right away again. He was just making he would not be late.
When Sealea got to class she was the first one there once again. How is she always the first one?
Classes went by fast. Jaden ran all the way down to lunch hoping he was the first one because it is normally hard to find a seat when you are last.
Grey really wanted to see how Harley was but she couldn’t because she wasn’t supposed to be here and the nurse wouldn’t let her. She said his condition was too severe.
Aspen met up with her friends and they actually walked to lunch together for once. She listened while her friends talked about how someone got a new boyfriend and stuff.
Sealea though her first class was really boring. Nothing new was taught. She thought it was going to win the most boring class award.
Jaden waited for his friends to arrive. But till they did he was in a empty cafeteria, well until Aspen and her friends arrived.
Grey began to tidy up the dorm but thought better of it when she knew that Harley wouldn’t want his things moved. She wasn’t sure what to do now. Maybe she could go find Sealea later.
Aspen looked around the clearing after she had recieved her lunch.
“Oh, we’re early!” she said. She wasn’t expecting to be early but Jaden was the only one sitting there. Everyone else was flooding in.
Sealea started to go down to lunch. But she then thought she should go and check on Grey. She walked to Harley’s dorm. “Hello.” Sealea said walking in.
Jaden’s friends were in the way back of the crowd. So that made them take so long to arrive.
“Hi,” Grey said. “Have you managed to see Harley yet?” She asked eagerly.
Aspen’s friends took their spot at a table with a bunch of other Everboys and girls. She could see Aieken down at the opposite end of the table. She was thankful that he had steered clear of her since the other day.
“Nope, too much school.” Sealea said sitting down on the bed. She can try after school though.
After lunch Jaden went right to his next class. He hoped he didn’t have a test.
“Ok, bye. I was planing to try to visit him after school though.” Sealea said walking out the doorway.
After Jaden’s class it was time to go to surviving fairytales. He was wondering what the challenge was this time.
Sealea nodded and left.
After Sealea’s last class she went to surviving fairytales. When she arrived there were already a lot of people.
Jaden stood next to his friends waiting for Yuba. He finally arrived though.
Sealea and Jaden for Yubsa to say what the teams were. Sealea was sure she would hate her team.
Sealea knew no one on her team. But they were not getting along since the first time anyone said anything.
They all ran off to get the supplies. But they were having trouble with finding out what would stay up the best. But they built it fast.
They were the first ones done with their house. It actually looked very pretty. Sealea fought the options the Evers made were boring. She was hoping they would make flint and steel so they could make fire going around the house.
When all the others teams were done they waited to see what the last challenges were. They the challenge would be really easy.
Sealea walked up to Harley’s dorm. When she walked in she waved Grey to come with her.
Jaden walked to the commen room. He was going to wait for someone to arrive.
Grey followed close behind Sealea as they made their way to the nurse’s office. Harley was awake and staring at the ceiling. He had nothing better to do and his head hurt like anything. It was bandaged until his mid forehead. A nurse was scribbling on a paper when a knock occurred on the door.
Aspen went to the common room and greeted Jaden.
“Hi.” Sealea said. Standing outside of the room. She hoped she could come inside.
“Hi. How was your team?” Jaden asked. He was guessing there was going to be a problem with it.
“Sealea.” Said Sealea. She just wanted the nurse to pet her in the office and not be asked questions.
“Yeah. You are lucky you weren’t last though.” Jaden said.
“One second please,” the nurse said, shutting the door. She alerted Harley of the visitors and he allowed entry. The nurse reopened the door. “You may come in but no loud sounds or sudden movements, okay?” she said. Grey agreed.
“True. I thought we would be with the way everyone was getting along,” Aspen said.
Sealea agreed too. She then walked in following behind Grey. She was glad to see him.
“Everyone hated each other on my team, but it work out.” Jaden said. Everyone just went along.
Grey had to restrain herself from running over to Harley.
“Hi,” he said. He slowly sat up so he could see them.
“Are you okay?” Grey asked.
“Of course!” Harley grinned. “This is a prime example of why you shouldn’t be an idiot like me,” he said, gesturing to the bandages.
“Did you hear about the three way tie for Snow Ball King, Mr. Janitor,” Aspen asked grinning.
“Well u am glad you are ok.” Sealea said. She went to stand with Grey.
“No.” Jaden said. No one had told him.
“Thanks,” Harley said. “How have you guys been?”
“Um, I’ve been okay,” Grey said. She looked at Sealea awaiting her response.
“Oh, well apparently all three candidates, which would be you, Aieken, and some other person, are tied for the position as of lunch,” Aspen said. “It also has never happened before.”
“Good.” Sealea said. She only was not happy about surviving fairytales.
“Really?” Jaden said. He couldn’t believe he was one of them. That was not what he thought would happen.
The nurse scurried into the room. “I’m afraid you’ll have to leave now. He needs his rest,” she said. Harley looked ready to object but said nothing. Grey nodded and left the room.
“Yep,” Aspen said. It had just occurred to her that Jaden had never given her some weird nickname and she was hoping he forgot.
“For the Queen position, Faybelle has a big lead. And apparently somebody put my name in the running so I’m in second right now. If I find that person I will punch the life out of them.” Her hands clenched into fists as she thought about it.
Sealea walked out of the room and headed for her dorm. She was tired from surviving fairytales.
“Why would someone do that?” Jaden asked not expecting an answer.
Grey went back to Harley’s dorm and went straight to sleep.
“I don’t know. I wouldn’t doubt that Aieken did it just so I would have to dance with him,” Aspen said. She scowled in disgust. “Though I’m kind of glad I know now rather than later. I guess my friends’ gossip is good for something after all.”
When Sealea got there she went to sleep. She was so happy to finally to go to sleep.
“Well it does make sense that he would.” Jaden said.
When it was morning Sealea was once again the first one to arrive. Since no one else was there she just did whatever she wanted.
“Sure I don’t care what you do to him.” Jaden said. Really he didn’t care what she did.
Soon more people started to show up. Also the teachers came after an hour of them all waiting.
“Umm… Why would you?” Jaden asked. That would just be strange.
Grey looked out the window and saw the forest Harley, Sealea, Ellis, and herself appeared in front of when they first got here. That would surely be a good and safe place to transform.
Aspen laughed. “I’m kidding. I most certainly will punch him. Kissing him would just be gross.” Her face contorted in disgust.
Sealea’s first classes went by fast. When it was lunch she went up to Harley’s dorm to talk to Grey. But when she got into his dorm Grey was not there. When she went over to the window she saw something out there. She wondered what it was.
“I would be happy if you just punched him.” Jaden said. He would enjoy to hear that Aspen did that.
Grey ran into the Blue Forest before anybody could see her. She transformed into her Jabberwoky form and stretched out. After all the tension it felt so good.
“Don’t worry, I will,” Aspen said smiling. She had to find him first which would be difficult because he was avoiding her.
Sealea ran down to lunch. She was not concerned of what was in the blue forest.
“bye.” Jaden said. He had to go back to his dorm and do some homework.
Sealea went to next class. When she got here she looked out the window. She saw the thing moving out there. She wanted see what it was or who it was.
After Jaden finished his homework he went to sleep. He was really tired after doing all of his homework.
When Grey turned Sealea was still watching. She was glad that it was gRey and that she was going back to the dorm before anyone caught her. Sealea then took her seat.
When Jaden woke up he relized that he was late. He started to hurry up when getting ready. He then ran down to his class. He was lucky that class has not started yet.
After school Sealea went up to her dorm. She had to do her homework. She didn’t want to do it though.
Jaden had so many tests. He was bored of them. He was glad when it was finally lunch time.
Grey was still peacefully asleep when a student walked in stealthily. They jumped a little at the sight of Grey, not expecting her to be there. They ignored her and continued on with their buisness.
Aspen suffered through a pop quiz and two brutal challenges before lunch arrived. She walked down to the clearing but skipped getting food.
After Sealea finished she went down to the commen room. She was hoping Ellis was there.
Jaden sat down with his friends after he got his lunch. This time he was not the first one in the cafeteria.
Grey jolted awake from a sudden nightmare. She composed herself but then spotted a human shaped figure in the closet. She let out a small growl before standing up and confronting the person.
Aspen had a plan to give Aieken what he well deserved and she was going to put it into action now. She spotted him at his usual table with his friends and walked over with a smile on her face. She leaned down and whispered in his ear “Can I talk to you…” A smile grew on his face as they walked to the edge of the Blue Forest where nobody was sitting.
When she got to lunch Ellis was also there so she went over and started a conversation. Hey started it very very fast.
When Jaden finished he went up to iOS next class and waited for everyone else to arrive. While he waited he did some homework.
“So, how’d you like my surprise?” Aieken asked, smugly. Aspen smiled.
“You mean my nomination for Queen? I’m so excited!” she lied. “In fact I just had to repay you for it.” she beckoned him closer with her finger.
“I don’t know what’s gotten into you but I like it,” he said stepping closer. She tugged on his shirt collar bringing his lips millimeters away from hers before giving him a hard punch to the stomach. He groaned and doubled over, glaring up at her.
“In your dreams!” she called walking to her next class.
The person stepped out of the closet. She looked at Grey.
Sealea finished her lunch and went to her next class. They had a test which they already took.
After school was over Jaden had to clean the groom room. It seemed worse the second time he did it.
“Who are you and what are you doing here?” Grey asked. She stared at the figure in a defensive attitude.
Aspen got out of class and went to the groom room knowing Jaden would be there. “Hi!” she said skipping in and grinning but being careful not to make a mess.
“Umm… Umm.” The girl said.
After all her classes were over Sealea went to see Harley. When she arrived she knocked on the door.
“Hi. Did you know the snow ball is tomorrow.” Jaden said as he sweep the floor.
“Well?!” Grey asked frustrated. “Last time I checked this isn’t your dorm!”
The nurse opened the door slightly and peered at Sealea. “Oh! Hello dear come right in!” she said opening up the door further. “He just woke up and has had a lot of pain tonics lately so he might be a little woozy.”
“What? Where have I been?” Aspen asked surprised. She shook her head. “Anyways, guess what I did.”
“Well to tell you the truth, I don’t know how I got here.” Said the girl.
“Hi.” Sealea said walking into the room. It feels like it got smaller since the last time she was in there.
“What?” Jaden asks. He is really bad at guessing.
“How do you not know how you end up it someone’s dorm? That’s kinda stupid,” Grey said folding her arms across her chest.
Harley looked over at her and gave a weak smile. “Hi. What’s up?”
“I gave Aieken what he deserved,” Aspen said proudly. “And I didn’t get caught.”
Coleston shuffled out of the bathroom in a hoodie and sweats his tail curled up and ears pricked happily. His white hair was flopping in his eyes again but he didn’t care. Cole caught sight of Aspen and Jaden and his smile fell as he quickly looked away and tried to leave the groom room. Too bad he ran into a plant and fell creating a ruckus.
The girl stared at the ground. “You see I went into his portal and ended up here.” She said.
“Good, how about you?” Sealea said. She thought that she should have brought Grey with her.
Jaden turned around to see Coleston lying on the floor. He stops sweeping and walks over to him.
“Okay, then where did you come from?” Grey asked.
“As good as I can be right now,” Harley said chuckling a little. He looked around and noticed Grey wasn’t there.
Aspen followed close behind and stifled a giggle. “Are you okay?” she asked.
Coleston blushed and stood up. “Y-yeah I’m fine.” He avoided eye contact and saw the plant that tipped over, spilling dirt all over the floor. He also noticed the broom Jaden was holding and mentally slapped himself. “I-I’m sorry. I’ll help you clean up.” Why did he always get himself into these messes?
“New Orleans.” Said the girl. She jump through a portal for a reason.
“I forgot to get her.” Sealea said. She did feel bad about it.
“No, you don’t have to.” Jaden said. He didn’t want to waste his time.
“What’s New Orleans?” Grey asked. She was intrigued now.
“Oh,” Harley said. He was slightly dissapointed about not seeing Grey but he was still happy that someone came.
“No, it’s okay. I want to help,” Cole said. He leaned down and stood the plant upright. Thankfully, the *** hadn’t shattered. Aspen jogged off to the janitor’s closet and returned with another broom and a dustpan.
“What’s your name?” she asked the boy.
“Oh, um, C-Cole,” he said.
“Well here you are Cole.” She handed him the broom and he began sweeping up the dirt into a pile.
“Oh, it is a place where music is always, and where there is unique food. There are many other things too.” She said.
“Sorry.” Sealea said. She truly was.
“I’m Jaden.” He said as he sweep the floor. He was glad he was almost finished, and that the Minh is almost over.
Grey nodded, “That sounds cool, but why would you want to leave?”
“It’s alright,” Harley reassured her. “I’m still glad you’re here.”
“I’m Aspen,” she said, standing up from sweeping up the pile of dirt that had accumulated. She dumped it in the trash. Then, she noticed Cole’s cat ears and tail. As curious as she was, Aspen refrained from asking because she could tell he was already uncomfortable.
“I-It was nice meeting you guys and everything but I gotta go. Vinny’s probably starving,” Coleston said rubbing the back of his neck.
“Well the problem is my dad. People were after him so he made a portal and told me to go through it.” She said.
Sealea smiled. She still wished she had brought Grey.
“Bye.” Jaden said waving. He then went back to cleaning.
“And you ended up here,” Grey finished. “Well, I won’t be much of a help. I’m kind of a fugitive myself.” She chuckled a little.
“How’s school stuff been? Just as boring as usual I’m assuming,” Harley asked.
Aspen nodded, smiled, and took his broom. She helped Jaden out until they were finished.
Coleston gave a small smile back and walked out feeling stupid. He heard the familiar footsteps of a group of boys behind him and his ear twitched in annoyance.
“C’mere kitty, kitty!” one of the boys taunted from behind. Cole was tapped on the shoulder and he spun around to face his daily bullies. The biggest one snatched him by his hoodie’s collar and hoisted him up ready to throw a punch.
“Well my name is, Kylee.” She said. She stepped out farther into the room. She was hoping she could go into the hallway.
“Very boring.” Sealea said. The most boring part was the test she took.
When they were walking in the hallway they saw the boys. “What is going on?” Asked Jaden in a whisper.
“Grey,” she stated. “That’s my name I mean.” She noticed the girl’s shuffling and moved over. “Umm, I’m not sure where you could go right now but you’re free to leave if you want.”
Harley grinned. “Called it. By the way, tomorrow Castor’s going to give you a pop quiz. Don’t ask how I know that.”
“I-I don’t know but I’m sure as anything not going to let it happen,” Aspen said. She marched over to where the boy had Cole against the wall with a bruise on his cheek and another punch landed in his stomach.
“H-hey! Leave him alone!” Aspen said. She couldn’t believe the words coming out of her mouth and felt her legs trembling. Cole opened his eyes and looked at her bewildered. They must be two times the size of her!
“Nice to meet you, but I have some voodoo buisness to take care of.” Kylee said as she went out into the hallway.
“That is good to know.” Sealea said. She now thought some extra studying would be great.
“Leave him alone. What did he do to you?” Jaden said. Really what would he have done to them.
“Okay…?” Grey said as she walked off. Strange girl, she thought.
Harley nodded. “I don’t mean to be rude but I’m feeling kinda tired so could you leave for now?”
The boy dropped Cole to the floor where he doubled over, clutching his stomach. Aspen ran over to help.
“Are you okay?” she asked and inspected him for anymore noticeable bruises. Coleston managed to nod. This happened all the time and he really didn’t want her to worry.
Meanwhile, the bully confronted Jaden. “And what are you going to do about it?” he asked smirking. “All the new Evers have gotten puny!” he said to his friends. “I can practically see through them all!”
As Sealea was walking to Harley’s dorm to see Grey she saw Kylee come walking past her. “Come on, I can tell you do not belong here. Come with me.” She said and they walked back together.
Jaden dropped a smoke bomb and went running with the other two. “I knew these would come in handy at some point.” Jaden said amazed as they were running.
Grey yawned and found a rubber ball to mess with.
Aspen yanked Cole up and clutched his hand as they ran down the hallway after Jaden. They took a sharp left and then a right until they were sure they lost their persuers. Aspen slowed down and asked, “Where exactly are we going?” She looked around and noticed they were by the candy classrooms. Cole took a minute to catch his breath before he noticed his and Aspen’s linked hands and casually pulled away blushing.
“T-Thanks. Nobody’s cared to stop them before,” he said to Jaden and Aspen.
Sealea knocked on the door. She waited for Grey to answer it. If she didn’t answer it that would be bad.
“Nowhere in particular.” Jaden said now starting to walk. He just wanted to get Cole away from them.
“I went to see Harley. Sorry I didn’t come and get you.” Sealea said walking inside with Kylee close behind her.
“Oh, my dad gave gem to me for my birthday two years ago.” Jaden said. This was the first time he had used them.
“Hi.” Kylee said and sat down on the bed. Sealea went and sat down next to her.
“Yes.” Jaden said. He started to head for his dorm.
Grey plopped down on the floor. “How is Harley?” she asked.
Aspen sighed. “Well, I’ll see you tomorrow I guess, having no classes and all.” She waved and turned to go to her own dorm but ran into Cole whom she forgot was there and stumbled backwards. “Oof! You know, at this rate, it’s a miracle we’re both still alive,” she said grinning at him. “Bye!” She walked off to her dorm and Cole went to his.
“Well he seems to be alright.” Sealea said.
Hours passed of doing homework. After Jaden finished he went right sleep. Doing homework made him really tired.
“That’s good,” Grey said. She studied Kylee for a minute before her mind drifted back to Harley.
“Please don’t make me!” Aspen pleaded to her roommates. They were trying to convince her to go to the Snow Ball tomorrow.
“But you’re in the running for Snow Queen! And we’ve already gotten you the perfect dress!” one of them argued. Aspen really didn’t want to go but she felt guilty after they had gone through all this trouble.
“Ugh, fine. You guys are lucky we’re friends.”
Meanwhile, Cole was doing his homework. His roommate came in. They usually didn’t converse and straight up ignored each other but today his roommate had something to say.
“Um, hey, Cole right?” Cole nodded suspiciously. “So, there’s the Snow Ball tomorrow and I know you don’t really get out much so I thought maybe you could go with me and my friends? I mean, it would probably be good for you and…stuff.”
“I hope he soon will be all clear to go to class.” Sealea said. Kylee continued to sit there silent.
In the morning Jaden had sleep longer, until his roommate woke him up. They then got ready for the ball.
“Me too,” Grey agreed. She adjusted her position on the floor and sighed.
After their dispute was settled, Aspen went to sleep. In the morning, she was awoken by squealing Evergirls and footsteps thundering outside the dorm. She crashed miserably back into her pillow before her roommates forced her to get up.
Cole was slightly offended by his roommates invitation but would feel bad if he denyed so accepted and went to bed dreading tomorrow’s events. He woke up and rubbed the sleep from his eyes before remembering the Snow Ball was today.
“Well I have to go, bye.” Sealea said. She then left to go to her dorm. She still had to do her homework.
Half of the morning Jaden was bored. So he was glad when it was finally time for the ball.
His roommate though was getting ready all morning. Which Jaden didn’t know what took so long.
“Bye,” Grey said. She resumed playing with the rubber ball she found earlier.
Aspen’s roommates felt it necessary to spend all day in preparation for the ball. Aspen simply pulled on her turquoise dress and fixed her long brown hair, adding a small, blue star clip. Her friends tried to get her to wear makeup but she refused. They headed down to the auditorium together.
Cole got ready fairly quickly in a navy suit and tie. He attempted to somewhat fix his hair but failed as usual. He found his roommate and his group of friends and awkwardly followed them to the auditorium.
Sealea did her homework and some studying. Then she went to the commen room.
Jaden went to the auditoria by himself. When he arrived it was still a little bit empty because people were still arriving.
Grey soon went to sleep out of boredom. She dreamed about wandering the halls of the Queen’s palace and finding Alice whom she’d claw to bits.
By the time Aspen got to the auditorium there was a line going halfway down the hall to get in. It took them a good 15 minutes until they were in.
Cole and the group he was tagging along with had to wait also surrounded by Evergirls chatting about their dates and Snow King and Queen. He sighed and tried to stay as close to his roommate as possible.
The next day Seala went right to class but this time half of the class was steady there. She then took her seat.
Jaden waited for it to begin. And for everyone to get in.
Grey was still sound asleep come lunch when the scuffles of hundreds of students feet went by Harley’s dorm.
Over the intercom, Sealea was asked to go to the health office.
Everyone soon was admitted into the ball and Professor Dovey said a few words before the dance actually started. Snow King an Queen would be announced precisely at 12 am which was 4 hours from now. Aspen just hung around her friends trying to enjoy herself a little bit. She wondered if Jaden or Cole were here too.
Great, just great, Cole thought to himself. The ball had only just started and he had already lost his group and was lost in between the hundreds of dancing bodies crowding the place.
Sealea went down to lunch. It partly empty. But she like it that way.
Jaden saw Cole standing there. He looked lost. Jaden walked over to him but it was hard with the crowd. “Hi.” He said.
Grey grumbled and was ready to go outside and give the loud students a piece of her mind but then remembered she couldn’t do that.
After she did not arrive they sent out the announcement once more, “Colud Sealea please come to the health office?”
Aspen’s group stopped to get some drinks before everyone soon dispersed to find their dates leaving Aspen stranded.
Cole didn’t answer right away. He wasn’t used to people talking to him so when he noticed the “hi” was directed at him he was a bit shocked.
“Uh, h-hi,” he replied sheepishly.
Sealea walked to the health office. When she got to the door she knocked on it. She waited for a answer.
Jaden then saw Aspen and waved her over. “Nice to see you again.” Jaden said.
The nurse opened the door and grinned at Sealea.
“I hope I didn’t give you too much of a fright! There is nothing wrong, quite the opposite actually.” She allowed Selea to step into the room.
Aspen breathed a sigh of relief when she saw her friends.
“Oh thank goodness I found you guys! All my ‘friends’ ditched me basically.” Her faced switched to a sour expression as she reminisced on the previous events.
“Y-You too,” Cole mumbled before Aspen trotted over. His ears perked up a little then sank back down as she told her tale. He had experienced the same thing More times than to his liking.
Sealea walked in. She was glad what the nurse said. She looked up.
“Well, at least we’re here.” Jaden said. That must stink having all of your friends ditch you.
“Anyways, Harley is being released and we would just like someone to keep an eye on him for the first day or two. He will be going to all his classes like normal as well,” the nurse said. Harley rolled his eyes from behind her at her imense amount of joy and the fact that he would have to go to classes again. He was sitting up on the table in fresh clothes and grinning.
“Freedom!” he shouted.
Aspen nodded. She glanced at Cole who didn’t seem like he would be one to openly go to a party. Heck, they all seemed bored and annoyed at this point.
“When will this stupid thing be over so I can sleep?!” she asked partially to herself.
Sealea was happy that he better. But she knew he didn’t want to go back to all his classes.
“Well they now are going to tell us who is King and who’s Queen, so sorry to say but not any time soon.” Jaden said with a frown. He too wanted this to end.
Harley began to make his way out the door before the nurse stopped him. “Don’t forget to take your medicine just like I told you and for Merlin’s sake please be careful!” Harley nodded.
“Relax, I know.” He slipped past her and into the hall.
“Great,” Aspen muttered as she turned to face the stage. She hoped it wouldn’t be her and…it was. Her luck was terrible today. She released her breath frustratingly and walked through the crowd to the stage trying to plaster a smile on her face. Everyone was watching her and she felt ready to puke.
Cole watched her go up and felt a great amount of sympathy for the girl. Snow King was next to be announced.
Sealea walked out the door with him. “So, I can tell you are happy.”Sealea said.
“Oh no.” Jaden said mostly to himself. He hoped that Aieken was not going to be chosen as King.
“Oh definitely. You try being stuck in the same room for nearly a week,” Harley said. He shoved his hands in his pockets and went in the direction of his dorm. “Not gonna lie, it’s still sore so don’t go thumping me in the head.”
“Oh no what?” Cole asked curiously. Aspen felt Professor Dovey place a crown atop her head and pat her on the back in means of congratulations. They announced Snow King whom was none other than Aieken, grinning like a mad man and sauntering up like he owned the place. But maybe he did. He practically had control over three quarters of the student body in the school for good. His friends were all whooping and hollering cheering him on like her own small cluster of girl-friends were.
“Bye.” Sealea said heading in the way of her next class. She would be late if she didn’t start going there now.
“That’s why I said oh no.” Jaden said pointing to Aieken. He was of the only person not cheering.
“Bye,” Harley said. He needed to get all his stuff from his dorm before going to class but he had a late excusal. He walked into the dorm and was clobbered by Grey.
“You’re back!” she squealed tightly hugging him. Harley nodded.
“Can’t…breathe…!” She quickly let go and apologized.
“Oh,” Cole said. He was still confused but dropped it. He had seen that kid around before and knew he was popular.
Aspen nearly lost it when she heard his name called. Professor Dovey had the center of the floor cleared for the traditional King-Queen dance. Aieken took her hand and she had no choice but to oblige as they walked to their little ring of space. He bowed and she curtsied before they joined hands and began dancing.
Sealea want to class and she was lucky that class would start in 5 minuets.
Jaden was glad when the special King and Queen dance was over. He walk over when everyone could dance again.
“Wow you’re, uh, really strong,” Harley said catching his breath. Grey shrugged.
“Jabberwoky perks,” she stated. Harley grabbed his books out of his closet and a cookie before waving and heading to class where everyone stared at him and exchanged murmurs.
Aspen could barely make eye contact with Aieken. He was way too close for her liking and she wasn’t a very good dancer and was paranoid she’d step on his foot and embarrass herself. Finally the song ended and he placed a kiss on her lips, forceful, but passionate. The crowed cheered and some Evergirls booed before they went their separate ways. She saw Jaden and Cole approaching and quickly replaced her fake smile with her true scowl.
“I think I literally just died out there,” she stated, hugging her arms to her stomach.
Coleston felt a twinge of disgust as they danced and kissed. He followed Jaden not wanting to get lost again and nodded to Aspen in acknowledgement.
Class was boring as usual. But when it was over she met up with Harley.
“How was being back to class.” Sealea asked. She was sure she knew he answer but asked anyway.
“I not sure if you’ll approve but…” Jaden said. He kicked the ground.
“It was like living in the underworld if you know what I mean,” Harley said. “In other words, no better than I remember.”
“Oh please,” Aspen said. “For all I care you can go beat him up however much you want.” She was starting to actually not feel well and she just wanted to cry. “I-I’m just going to go…” she said walking towards the exit with tears in her eyes.
“I know what you mean.” Sealea said heading for her dorm. She had a lot of homework to do, and if she wanted to get a good grade she had to finish it. “Bye.” She said.
“Ok, maybe next year.” Jaden called out to Aspen as she walk away. Or maybe not.
“See ya,” Harley said before retreating into his dorm to get his homework done. Being injured for a week obviously doesn’t get you any freebies, he thought.
Aspen started walking back to her dorm wiping away tears. Why did Aieken always have to ruin everything, she thought. Why did her friends have to drag her to the ball in the first place?!
“Um, should we go see if she’s alright?” Cole suggested. He stuffed his hands in his pockets nervously and looked at his shoes.
Sealea started her homework and finished later than she thought. But when she finished she went to Harley’s dorm. She knocked on the door.
Jaden didn’t answer. He was stuck in his thoughts. Aieken ruined it.
Grey bounced over to the door happier than she’d been in a while. “Hey!” she said to Sealea.
Harley glanced up from his homework gave a small smile and grabbed a cookie before resuming.
Aspen made it to her dorm and collapsed miserably on the bed. She sobbed quietly into her pillow.
Cole’s ear twitched anxiously and his tail was lashing back and forth. He nudged Jaden.
“Jaden…” he said a little louder.
“Hi.” Sealea said. She walked and sat down on the floor.
“Well my chances are over so lets go check on her.” Jaden said walking out the door.
Harley groaned as he approached a hard question. “I don’t understand why we need to know all this junk to become good villains!” he exclaimed.
Cole nodded and followed Jaden to Aspen’s dorm. He knocked on the door softly and waited.
“W-” she cleared her throat, “Who is it?” she asked warily.
“I don’t know.” Sealea said. But she rather be an Never than an Ever.
“Jaden and Cole, and this time there won’t be a misunderstanding right.” Jaden said waiting for her to open the door.
He adjusted his position and scribbled down a random answer just so he could be finished. “There,” he said closing his books. “So, what should we do now?”
Aspen opened the door with a ******* face. She didn’t say anything but nodded as they walked in the room. She sat on her bed before words came tumbling out of her mouth.
“I’m sorry. I’m really, really sorry. I didn’t want to drag you guys into this and I’m fine it’s just that Aieken ruins everything and the night was already bad enough as it was and I just broke down in anxiety and I just- I-” She ran out of words to say and just brought her hands to her face worried and embarrassed. “I’m a terrible friend,” she finished.
“I don’t know.” Sealea said. She just knew that she was really bored.
“No you’re not.” Jaden said. He took a seat on one of the beds.
“Spontaneous dance party?” Grey suggested grinning. She was partially kidding. Harley looked at her and blinked.
“Nope. I do not dance. There is nothing you could do to make me dance,” he said.
Grey pouted. “Loser,” she mumbled.
Cole agreed and stayed standing.
“Y-Your awesome. And I’ve only known you for two days,” he said blushing ever so slightly and glancing at the floor. “Whatever happened clearly wasn’t your fault.”
Aspen sighed. “Please don’t just say that to make me feel better,” she pleaded.
“Oh, come on.” Sealea said. Although she didn’t know how, she was going to try to get him to dance. That may end badly though.
“I’m not.” Jaden said. He was telling the truth that she is a good friend.
“Ooo I have an idea!” Grey exclaimed. “Sealea do you know any spells do conjure up some cute girls or something?” She made weird hand gestures to exemplify magic.
Harley frowned. “H-Hey that’s not fair…”
Grey stuck her tounge out. “You gave the challenge, we accepted and there were no rules so shut up.”
“Me either,” Cole said.
Aspen finally looked up once she was more calm. “I-I’m probably keeping you guys up. You can go, i-if you want, and thanks. I feel a lot better now.” She gave a sincere smile and awaited their decisions.
“Actually believe it or not I do.” Sealea said. She she then made about five show up.
“Well when I was asking you something it wasn’t to punch Aieken it was totally different.” Jaden said walking out the door.
Grey grinned. “And to think I didn’t like you before,” she said to Sealea.
“Oooooh Harrrrleyyyy! We’ve got cute girls and all you have to do is dance!”
Harley shoved his head under a pillow blushing fiercely. “No! I will not!” he refused but he wasn’t sure how much longer he could keep it up.
“W-Wait! Jaden I’m sorry I misunderstood. What did you want to ask?” Aspen said. She felt bad for misunderstanding.
Cole said goodbye, happy that she was feeling better and left them to go back to his dorm. This had certainly been an interesting day.
“Oh, come on I know you can’t resist them.” Sealea said taking he pillow away from him.
“It’s too late just forget about it.” Jaden said walking out the door. He was planning on going to sleep early today.
Harley curled up into a ball and covered his face with his hands.
“Why do you insist on torturing me?!” he shouted over the music Grey had just turned on.
“‘Cause it’s fuuuuun!” Grey replied swaying her hips to the music. She started to sing along.
“I-” Aspen started but she dropped it and fell back onto her pillows when the door clicked shut. She was exhausted and fell asleep almost instantly.
Sealea started to dance. “This is fun.” She said. It was the first time she had a use for making girls show up.
Jaden went back to his room and instantly fell asleep. He was super tired from the ball. But he was surprised his roommate was not there yet.
The other girls started to dance and chatter too. It would be hard to tell they weren’t necessarily real if it weren’t for the fact that all three of them had been there when the spell was cast. Grey danced her way over to the bed and pulled Harley up.
“You know, I’m seriously starting to wonder if you know what ‘fun’ is,” she joked.
Aspen’s roommates tiptoed in around two in the morning looking just as flawless as when they’d left.
“Well girls, you’re just going to have to be more irresistible.” Sealea whispered to the girls so Harley couldn’t hear that they were going to torture him more.
Jaden woke up in the middle of the night to hear Adrian squeaking.
The girls nodded and pulled off all their best dance moves. Grey giggled and pushed Harley towards the center of the group. He sneered back at them with a ferocious blush on his cheeks.
“All you have to do is one little dance move!” Grey sing-songed.
Cole had woken up to Vinny, his cat, pawing at his black-tipped ear and mewling.
“What do you want now!” he grumbled. Vinny meowed and went over to the door. “But I just-” He stopped when he realized he had forgotten to feed her. “Oops.” He guiltily got up and walked as quietly as possible through the halls with Vinny.
“Come on Harley you can do it.” Sealea said. Still dancing she tried to make it so Harley was trapped in he middle of the floor.
When Jaden saw Adrian trying to get of the cage Adrian Jaden knew he wanted to fly in the hallway. “Ok, let’s go.” Jaden said taking him out to the hallway.
“Nope.” Sealea said. She heard the other girls giggle at him.
As Jaden was walking down he hallways he saw two cats. “Umm… Umm.” Jaden said confused.
Harley rolled his eyes. “Well what do you suggest I do then!” he snapped. Grey shrugged and looked at Sealea for help.
Coleston saw Jaden and was startled. He arched his back before shapeshifting back into his human form and Vinnie hissed in annoyance. She was getting impatient.
“You’re best moves, duh,” Sealea said jumping up and down. “They are dying to see you dance. Right girls!”
“Right.” They answered. It worked better than she thought.
“You scared me.” Jaden said. He saw Vinnie who hissed at him. He stepped back.
“Need I clarify that I have no ‘moves’,” he said crossing his arms.
“Oh come on! We aren’t gonna leave you alone till you dance!” Grey said.
“Fine, you know what, fine.” He spun around and gently placed a hand on the waist of one of the girls. She placed a hand on his arm and they linked their opposite hands together before laughing and dancing goofily around the room.
Cole nudged Vinnie with his foot. “Be nice!” He looked back at Jaden. “Y-Yeah. I think we scared each other.” He rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly.
“Ok.” Sealea snapped and waved her finger so all of the girls dissapeared. Then she had a sigh of relief.
“Well, this is Adrian. He wanted tiger out of the room for a bit.” Jaden said. He gave Adrian a little pice of Apple to eat.
Harley breathed a sigh of relief and collapsed onto the ground, running a hand through his hair.
“I hate you guys,” he muttered. Grey grinned.
“Success!” She threw her arms up triumphantly.
Cole smiled. “This is Vinny. And she’s not always quite this rude I just forgot to feed her. Hence, why we were headed to the kitchens.”
Sealea just stared at the ground and kicked the floor. “I am glad that one girl is gone.” She said.
Adrian flew to the floor. He went up to Vinnie slowly. Jaden was not paying attention though.
“Nothing.” Sealea said suspiciously. She sat down on the floor.
Adrian flew backwards. “Well, I have to get back, bye.” Jaden said turning the other way.
“Okay?” Harley said. He rubbed his eyes and yawned. “I don’t know about you guys but I’d like to get some sleep…” His head was starting to hurt again. Grey nodded.
“Bye,” Cole said. He and Vinny finally made it to the kitchens and he got a salmon from the fridge. The chefs always set them aside for him and Vinny.
Sealea nodded and started to walk to the commen room. She has nothing better to do.
When Jaden got back he fell back to sleep.
In the morning he went to class and dos some studying. Soon people started to show up.
Harley got up and clambered into his bed dozing off almost instantly. Grey took her spot on the floor and fell asleep soon after.
Aspen woke up yet again from her restless slumber that was bombarded by gruesome nightmares. The only difference was that this time she had to get ready and go to class. She put on leggings and a blue t-shirt, neglecting her uniform and kept her hair down. She made it to class just as the bell rang.
Cole and Vinny had made it back to the dorm and went to sleep. When he woke up in the morning he did a bit of studying for his test and headed to class.
After a bit Sealea went back to her dorm and fell asleep. She was not looking forward for her day full of tests.
Jaden was glad that it was lunch because he forgot his breakfast and was hungry.
He walked down to lunch. He was he first one there, so the lunch line went fast, very fast.
Harley woke up and stretched. His head was definitely feeling better. He tugged on an outfit and fixed up his hair before attending class. He was nowheres near prepared for the test but oh well.
Aspen went to lunch with her friends crowding her and telling her how lucky she was. She ignored all the comments as she ate her lunch silently.
Cole went to his usual seat at lunch at a table towards the outside of the clearing where people barely hung out. He liked it because it was quiet and no one would bother him.
Sealea woke up and stuffed her butterflies in her backpack because she was going to feed them in class. When she arrived she took out her butterflies and fed them.
Jaden went right to class when lunch was over. He didn’t want to get stuck in a crowd.
“Nice butterflies,” Harley commented and grinned at Sealea. He was drawing random patterns and designs on his hand in pen.
Aspen finished her lunch and hung around until lunch was over and she went to her next class.
Cole finished his lunch fairly quickly and wandered to his next class where a few other students were already at.
“Thanks.” Sealea said. She fed them some flowers.
After school was over he had to clean the groom room one last time. He was glad he would not have to do it anymore.
Harley nodded and went back to drawing as more people flooded the classroom.
After school, Aspen went to her dorm and knocked out her homework before going to the library with her friends. They had promised to help organize and reshelve the books.
Cole stayed back in class because the teacher wanted to talk to him. His grades had been lacking lately.
After all the classes Sealea went to lunch. She sat down with nothing for lunch.
After Jaden finished he went to find Aspen.
At lunch Harley collected his slop and plopped down next to Sealea.
Aspen was shelving books in the spells section with another girl.
After a lecture about his grades and a brief discussion about what was going on he was finally dismissed. He ran a hand through his white and black hair and sighed when it fell back over his left green eye.
“Hi.” Sealea said. She thought the lunch today was worse than ever.
Jaden went to the last place Aspen could be. He saw her shelving the books.
“Hi” he said as he snuck up on her.
“Hey,” Harley said. He suspiciously eyed his lunch. “I think the lunch wolves are trying to kill us, though that’s not very surprising.”
Aspen jumped and whirled around then calmed down when she saw Jaden. “Merlin, Jaden, don’t scare me like that!” She bent down to pick up the book she had dropped.
“Yeah, when I saw it I decided to have no lunch today.” Sealea said looking down at his lunch.
“Sorry.” Jaden said. The girl next to Aspen glared at him. But he didn’t notice.
It suddenly starts to rain. “Aw, man.” Sealea said. She tries to cover herself.
“Good, you?” Jaden asked. He only hated the test out of the whole day.
Harley frowned and nudged Sealea. “Let’s get inside before everyone else clogs the tunnel.” He stood up and started jogging towards the tunnel of trees.
Sealea started running but slip and fell to the ground. She then got trampled by a bunch of people.
“That stinks.” Jaden said he saw a books actions the floor and handed it to Aspen.
Harley stopped when Sealea slipped and shoved his way through the scrambling bodies. He helped her up and tripped a few people who shoved him in their haste.
Aspen nodded and mumbled a thanks when he handed her the books. She never really thought that the library was used this much. It was always so dusty and quiet.
“Thanks.” Sealea said. She stood up and ran with Harley to the tunnels. They were lucky to make it.
“Well I have to do my homework, bye.” Jaden said. He had a lot of homework.
Harley slowed to a walk once they got inside and caught his breath. “Who knew people could be so violent to get out of the rain,” he joked.
“Alright, bye,” Aspen said. She went back to shelving books and finished soon after so she helped her friends out in their sections.
“Yeah.” Sealea laughed. She headed for her next class and did some studying before class had started.
Jaden finished his homework and went to the commen room. He Aspen when he arrived and walked over to her.
Harley went to his next class which actually was just a bunch of make up tests and things he had to do from his absence.
Cole got his homework done and needed to find Aspen. Pollux wanted to speak with her. He figured she may be in the common room and headed over there.
Aspen saw Jaden approach and waved. “Hi!” she said.
Sealea was happy for school to end. When it finished she went to Harley’s dorm.
“Hi. What are you doing?” Jaden asked taking a seat.
Harley headed back to his dorm with some food he managed to snag for Grey. She couldn’t possibly live off of just cookies! (Yes, he had found out. He had his ways.) He marched in and dropped his stuff on the bed, tossing the food to Grey.
“Nothing much,” Aspen said. Cole came over to them.
“Um, s-sorry to interrupt but Pollux wants to talk to you,” he said.
Sealea knocked on he door. She waited for someone to answer.
“Is she in trouble?” Jaden asked. He would not have guessed that she would be in trouble.
Harley got up again and answered the door, welcoming Sealea. Grey munched quietly on her food.
Aspen’s eyes widened a little. She couldn’t think of anything she had done to be in trouble.
“I-I don’t know. He never said,” Cole answered. Aspen nodded.
“I’ll see you guys later then,” she said and headed towards Pollux’s classroom.
“Hi Grey.” Sealea said. She took a seat on the floor near Grey.
“I have gotten in trouble twice and they were never ever nice to me about it.” Jaden said. He knew that they have been nice before.
“Hi,” Grey said. She snatched a cookie from Harley’s box lying on the floor before he came and took the box away.
“Mine,” he teased sticking his tounge out.
“Hopefully she’ll be okay,” Cole said. He looked around the room at all the Evers gathered there. It unnerved him a little.
“You have a box of cookies and you never told me?” Sealea said wig disbelief. Grey gets to have them when he is gone to.
“Yeah.” Jaden said. He waved his friends over when they arrived.
Harley held his hands up. “In my defense it was supposed to be a secret box of cookies anyways. She’s just nosey.” Grey pouted from the floor in protest.
“I’m not nosey, I was hungry!”
“I’ve gotta go feed Vinny so I’ll see you around,” Cole said. He put his hands in his pockets and walked out of the common room keeping his head down. His hair was flopping in his face and his tail was happily bobbing behind him.
Aspen knocked on the door to Pollux’s classroom and walked in. She was a little shocked to see Castor sitting there too.
“D-Did I do something wrong?” she asked carefully. Pollux shot Castor a warning glance before shaking his head.
“No, but Profssor Dovey is in Camelot for the time being and wanted us, well, me, to pass a message onto you.”
“So, what do you guys want to do?” Sealea asked. She was bored.
Jaden went to do his homework after a bit. He had a lot and had to do it today.
“As long as I don’t have to dance again I’m good,” Harley said.
“Hey, you took my idea!” Grey exclaimed. Her back ached and she guessed she needed to stretch her wings again. “Could we go outside maybe…”
Cole fetched some food for Vinny before heading back to his dorm.
“Oh,” Aspen said relieved. She picked up the enveloped note on the desk that was addressed to her and turned to leave.
“HOLD IT YOU SCRAWNY EXCUSE FOR A HUMAN!” Castor yelled. Aspen jumped and turned back around.
“Do you have any other ideas, Grey?” Sealea asked. She wanted something to do instead of homework.
Jaden finished his homework and went back to the commen room. It was almost empty when he arrived there.
Grey thought for a minute. Her eyes lit up as she got an idea.
“Could we have a tea party?! I used to watch the Mad Hatter having them with all his friends and they looked so fun but the Queen never let me attend one.”
Vinny wanted to go outside so Cole took her to the clearing for a little while.
Pollux rolled his eyes. “Castor there is nothing more to address so shut your trap and let her leave!” He nodded to Aspen for her to go and she quickly left and scampered down the hall.
When Jaden was going back to his dorm he bumped into Aspen. “So, how did it go?” Jaden asked. He saw the letter in her hand. He wondered what it was for.
“Umm… What is a tea party?” Sealea asked. She hoped no one thought she was crazy.
Harley and Grey stared at Sealea. “You don’t know what a tea party is?!” Harley exclaimed. He shook his head. “Now we must have one.” He spelled in a full tea *** and three cups on saucers. A short, round table also appeared so they could sit on the floor around it. Various cakes, cookies, and other treats appeared as well as utensils and they were set.
“Okay, I guess,” Aspen said. She glanced down at the letter in her
hand. “Professor Dovey wanted to give this to me but I haven’t read it yet.”
Cole and Vinny trotted back down the hall and stopped when they saw Jaden and Aspen. “Hey!” Cole said.
“No. Me and my mom are not very social.” Sealea said taking a seat at the table. She never had any vistors at her house before.
“Why would she give you a note?” Jaden asked. He knew she would not know the answer until she opened he letter.
“Oh,” Grey said. She took her seat at the table and grabbed a scone and a chocolate chip cookie. Harley took his seat and grabbed a brownie.
“Well Pollux said that she was out of town and wanted to tell me something,” Aspen said. She was a bit afraid to open it. She looked over at Cole. “Hello!” she greeted him.
Sealea took a cookie. But she now knows what a tea party is.
“Well let’s hope she says nothing bad about you.” Jaden said. He waves at Cole.
Harley poured everyone some tea and played some classical music. “Now I wouldn’t dare say that my tea parties are the best because Uncle Hatter’s are by far superior. Maybe one day all of us could go to Wonderland and hang out with him. I haven’t seen him in two or three years.” Harley reflected longingly on all the fun times he had.
Aspen nodded. “We should probably get out of the hallway before someone comes and tramples us over for blocking their way,” she giggled. Cole agreed.
“Where should we go?” he asked.
Sealea nodded. What could she say when this was only her first tea party ever.
“I don’t know.” Jaden said. He hallways seemed silent right now. He didn’t know why.
Sealea turned to the door as Harley walked up to he door. Who would be here right now, Sealea thought.
“Go away.” Jaden said. He was not in he mood Aieken, or ever.
Harley opened up the door and Averdine was standing there. “Goodbye,” he sneered and began to shut the door. She shot her arm out and held it open.
“So I can’t even talk to you now is that it?!” she asked.
“After what you’ve done yes.”
“Well that’s not a very nice greeting is it?” Aieken said.
“Maybe not but it’s the proper greeting that you deserve,” Aspen shot back. She tried to wriggle out of his grasp to no avail.
“That’s Averdine.” Sealea whispered to Grey. She looked back at Averdine who was standing in the doorway.
“Oh,” Grey said. She listened in on their conversation.
“Believe me I didn’t want to be here anyways,” Averdine grumbled.
“Then why don’t you ****** leave!” Harley shouted.
“Because Lesso told me to come fetch the lot of you!”
“Well, I won’t be leaving anytime soon ’cause Professor Dovey wants us in the Clearing,” Aieken said nonchalantly.
“All of us?” Aspen asked gesturing to herself, Jaden, Aieken, and Cole.”
“Yup. Now come on,” he said and led the way down the hall and to the clearing.
Sealea just sat and waited till’ it was over. It was very interesting to see how this plays out.
Jaden sighs and then follows Aieken to the clearing. He just hoped he was not going to be in trouble.
Harley rolled his eyes. “Well you could’ve just said that in the first place!”
“I’d much rather see you annoyed,” Averdine said. She reached and hand up and patted the top of his head like someone would a puppy. He caught her wrist and threw it down snarling at her and she frowned. “Well?! Let’s go!” Averi gestures to the three students in the dorm. Grey looked at Sealea.
“Us too?” she asked. Had she been found out?
Cole silently brought up the rear as they reached the clearing where Lesso and Dovey sat at a fragile looking glass table drinking tea. Castor and Pollux were there bickering as usual only Yuba was joined in. Then his eyes drifted to a group of 3 tall and thin boys who looked 15 or 16 in age. They must be Nevers because they were decked out in all black and had matching cloaks with the hoods pulled up. You could just barely see their faces. One caught Cole staring and glared straight back forcing his ear to twitch uncomfortably and his eyes to dart to the crisp green lawn.
Sealea sighs and follows Averdine. What could Lesso want?
“Umm… Do you have any idea what is going on?” Jaden whispered to Aspen.
Grey followed everyone else through the hallways and to the clearing where a group of Evers were already waiting.
Aspen shook her head and gave Professor Dovey her attention when she cleared her throat and stood from her table. “Now that we are all here i believe some introductions and explanations are in order, yes?” she said. She nodded her head to Lady Lesso to start.
“Evers, Nevers, these are the Entrefel brothers and I expect you to treat them with the respect they deserve.”
“What does this have to do with us?” Jaden asked. He was so confused on what it had to do with them all.
“You all are some of our smartest and most trustworthy students and a kingdom not far from here is hosting an exclusive month long training ‘camp’ if you will for only the most advanced of future rulers and villains that we would like you to attend,” Professor Dovey said. Harley scowled. He barely liked this place so why go to a stupid camp? Grey on the other hand was excited. Confused as to why she had a part in this, but excited. Cole didn’t really want to go and those boys scared him a bit. Aieken grinned his usual boyish grin and Aspen was a bit excited herself.
