My Ranking Points
*Note: I decided to change the way Ida got to the schools cause it doesn’t make sense the way I wrote his first pov, so I’m just gonna say that Ida’s mom planned for him to go to a regular school but Ida ended up getting transported to the school for good! ok that’s it!
Ida and Cadence along with two other new boys, who had introduced themselves briefly as Jace and Anton, quickly ran through through the school hallways. It appeared as though none of them had any clue what they were doing at this School for Good, so they had automatically become linked together through this strange occurrence.
“To be quite honest, I don’t think I mind this whole ordeal,” Cadence piped, his colorful locks more of a mess by the minute.
“Are you kidding me? I practically just crashed through the walls and landed on my-” Anton complained, then caught himself. His cheeks flushed.
Jace laughed a bit and soon they all let out their own nervous laugh.
It was the second time he had spoken at all, and Ida could tell the situation was thoroughly stressing him out.
“Well – if it makes you feel any better, I also fell on my rear a few minutes after I met this sunshine right here!” Ida tapped Cadence’s shoulder.
He threw Anton a little side look, and marched forward, only to run into two more boys.
Ida mentally threw himself to the ground in desperation. How many more boys? How many more lost boys would they encounter, boys he would have to befriend, boys with kind eyes and cheery smiles, boys that were beautiful, but not nearly as beautiful as the flowers and the forests and-
Shut up, Ida reprimanded himself. You’re here to be socializing with other human beings and finding your way to the right school, not thinking about the flowers.
“Ed!” exclaimed Jace, beaming at one of the new boys.
“You know this guy?” Anton questioned.
“I met him earlier, he’s from the same time as me.”
A strange chill ran up Ida’s spine. He heard a whisper from behind his ear.
“Do not trust this boy,” a breathy voice confirmed.
The begonia! It must have snuck into his bag before he and Cadence left their room.
The other young man, equally as handsome, offered his hand to Ed.
“Hey Ed, I’m Harris, nice to meet you.”
“Nice to meet you as well.” Ed shook Harris’ hand.
Harris turned to everyone with a silly grin.
“Now boys, don’t we all have a Welcoming to get to?”
Was that a wink?! Ida almost fainted. The flowers had never winked at him.
Needless to say, the so-called Welcoming turned out to be more disappointing than reassuring. Doubts were cleared up, but in a rather awful way:
“No one can leave this school! You are all here stay as students!” the strange dog like creature bellowed.
Ida’s mind swirled. Was this happening? Was this really happening? Was this what his mother had thought was in store for him when he left home? A small tear slid down his cheek. This was too overwhelming, all of it.
“Hey, it’s okay. You don’t need to cry.”
A hand took his.
I don’t know who takes Ida’s hand but it could be anyone so! Someone please comfort my boy!!!!
