Okay so I posted this problem awhile ago, @Jun you said that you would talk to Soman about it and get back to me, but that never happened, and I’m afraid that you’ve forgotten, so I’m just going to post this again.
So when I made my account on this website, I used my school email account, because I did not currently, at the time, have my own. As far as I can tell it’s not technically against the rules, but I’m a bit uncomfortable with this. I currently DO have my own email account, now, but at the time I did not. I was wondering if I would be allowed to possibly create a new account, with my new email, without having to delete this account? I would be inactive on this account…my only reason to not delete it is all the memories, you know? A sentimental reason. I’ve been on this website a year, and I don’t want record of everything destroyed, you know? But I would only be active on the new account, and I would inform everyone of my new account before and after it was made. I was wondering if I would be allowed to stretch the rules and do this? I am aware of the reason you are not allowed to make multiple accounts, but I would be completely honest, everyone would be aware of both my accounts and obviously, since everyone knew both the accounts were me, I couldn’t “bully” myself or anything.
I hope that this is possible and please inform me asap about whether this will work.
(Also, if I am allowed to create a new account, the account name, I’ve decided, will be @ItzMovieStar for simplicity sake.)
well what I want id for the site to have a way to just change the email, because I have a lot of points on this account that I don’t want to go to waste. I also used my school account for this
Hi Moviestar, I’m sorry for not getting back to you sooner, I did talk with Soman and the tech team — Hjannie is right, it has been policy that we can’t delete old accounts and make new ones. We’ll make an exception in this one case and you can move forward with making your new account, but we aren’t going to set a precedent of doing this, since the servers are very overloaded with inactive accounts.
The Tech Team has informed me that combined with all the old accounts, all the old posts have also been affecting the speed and functionality of the site, with things like the quizzes breaking down or taking forever to load. We’re working on a solution, but tentatively, at some point, we’re probably going to have to do some kind of clearing out of inactive accounts and inactive threads on the forums older than a certain date.
