Hello everyone! Welcome back to
Princeless Royal Power. I put your ranks next to your tag again. Everyone did really well, so please don’t be disappointed. In terms of overall points in this class, 3 or 4 people passed last weeks leader. As I said, things change a lot.
Today’s lesson is actually just a set up for next week’s class… so if you all do so well that it’s impossible to rank I probably just won’t do ranks. Last week we criticized characters. To avoid making hypocrites of ourselves, today we’re making up our own!
I think most of you have done this before but if you haven’t… now you will learn how to survive a Roleplay on the SGE site! They’re hard to avoid.
Stick to the template included below (you can add to it or put N/A if necessary, but for the most part you should fill in everything) and design a character for a “realistic fiction” story (no special powers! That’s for next week!) featuring characters around 11-14. The characters should seem very stereotypical, but something about them is a little different. No one should perfectly fit the box.
Outlying traits/how they differ from the stereotype:
Backstory/anything else you would want to add:
Relatively simple bio. The fun stuff is next week!
I’m sorry for not posting last week, but this week I’ll do better :).
Name: Aurelia Diamantis
Box/Label/stereotype: The chosen one (I’m mixing dystopian sci-fi and fantasy here, don’t judge)
Age: 16 (because YA sci-fi)
Appearance: Aurelia has long, dark hair that she keeps tied back in a practical ponytail. Striking amber eyes are her most notable characteristic, different from everyone else’s. She has sharp, well-defined features and she has muscles that she’s built up over time from her day-to-day work. She’s about 5′ 6″, with olive skin. She’s has a nice, confident stride coupled with a loud voice, and she’s also quite good-looking. She has a winning smile and often wears a golden earring in one ear.
Personality: Aurelia is outgoing and outspoken, and also very smart. She’s a quick learner and normally ends up being good at whatever comes her way. She’s very good at weathering things and fighting back. She has a big ego, as well as a superiority complex. However, most people are willing to overlook this because she’s the chosen one and thus destined to save them all. She’s pretty funny, and beguiling as well. Of course, she feels overwhelmed with her destiny at times, but she normally overlooks that because of the amount of fame that she has. She has lots of friends and is really popular, but she normally acts humble in public, and she always has an inspiring word to say.
Outlying traits/how they differ from the stereotype: Aurelia actually wants to be the chosen one. She’s actually quite duplicitous and doesn’t care about her cause at all, but she likes the attention she gets from it. Oh, and she is also thinking about joining the other side because she wants more money. And she’s a coward; she’s terrified of death and will do anything to stay alive.
Backstory: There was a prophecy that chose Aurelia, because of her amber eyes and date of birth. It turns out that she was meant to save the world from the evil socialist government, but she actually likes the government because they have well-paying jobs. She also has a childhood friend who’s in love with her, but she doesn’t love him back.
slightly worried that this differs too much from the stereotype.
Lovely! (Aurelia is one of my favourite names, It means gold right?) she has a really interesting story, and seems like a captivating character!
I’m not entirely sure, but it could very well mean gold because aurum means gold in Latin.
It does mean gold; I was doing a kind of riff off of The Hunger Games because the author used lots of Roman names in that story.
oh my god a 19??? that’s crazy, thank you so much! I’m commenting so I remember to do thissss
Name: Noelle Adair
Stereotype: the ‘perfect’ girl (this is where everyone thinks they have the perfect life, etc.)
Appearance: Noelle has long, wavy auburn hair, and lively cerulean eyes. She’s about 4’ 9” (rather short I know) she has a pale complexion, with small freckles scattered like stars on her face. (She has a very very small amount of freckles though.) she has a small, slender frame, with a harmonic pace. Her hair is usually in a neat up do, but will be worn down with flowers from time to time. She always wears prom white gloves, and a tea-length Robin egg blue dress.
Personality: Noelle is very musical. She sings, plays violin, and piano. She tends to be poised, and elegant. She’s quiet, and spends most of her time in the library, and the quiet parks and lakes.
She’s the peacemaker between everyone she passes, and has outstanding kindness. She’s balanced, and sensible. She’s good at bringing others up, and realising their self worth.
Outlying traits/how they differ from their stereotype: she’s broken. Like a puppet who’s strings have fallen apart. She puts everything and everyone before herself, even if that means belittling herself to do so. She holds a guise many people desire, and holds it like a mask. She has a notoriously low self esteem, and poor self image. She pulls others up because she can’t seem to help herself.
Backstory: Noelle was left on a small form of wood, floating in the centre of a lake. She had been adopted that day, by a woman incapable of having children. She had played music for her every single day. Eventually, everyone in her life began to disappear, pushing her to find the cause of it.
I’m not sure if this even makes sense (it’s almost six am) but hopefully it was enjoyable!
Yay! Thank you miss Granger! Here is my character….
Name: Ji-lin Jong
Box/label/Stereotype: The ‘quiet and nice kid’
Appearance: Dark brown eyes and dark brown hair that is straight and long. Medium height. She has purple octagon shaped glasses and has a green watch and three woven bracelets. Her skin is pale but will get tanned very quickly. Her hands and feet are normal size, and her arms and legs are reasonably long. She wears hoodies and jeans in the winter, and T-shirts and baggy pocket-full shorts in the summer. She wears sturdy hiking boots or sandals.
Personality: Just like her stereotype, Ji-lin is quiet and nice most of the time. She hates seeing anyone hurt or angry or sad because of her, and helps people in need because she thinks that that is a mandatory requirement. She is polite and literally can’t raise her voice at people. She will never stay mad for more than a day, and she is very mature for a twelve year old. Ji-lin has a funny side, and a reckless side, but those are only reserved for the closest people to her heart. Ji-lin is also very dignified, and won’t do anything embaressing in front of anyone.
Outlying traits/how they differ from the stereotype: Ji-lin IS nice and shy and quiet, but her closest friends know about her humor. Only to those she feels comfortable with, Ji-lin can be sarcastic and dramatic. Of course, when someone she doesn’t know or doesn’t feel comfortable with comes by, she will shut down and stay in the shadows. Ji-lin can also be a know-it-all, for she reads a lot and is the top-of-the-class smart.
Backstory: Ji-lin moved around a lot when she was little, and is affected by many different qualities of many different countries. She has one little sister who is the opposite of Ji-lin, bossy and a brat. Her parents are very smart, both of them excellent at math and science.
hope I did well this time as well! 🙂
So my character is actually from a story that’s taking form in my mind, but I haven’t fully developed my characters yet.
Name: Mercury Heldarcelpo
Box/Label/stereotype: That one quiet kid who doesn’t like to get involved in anything but isn’t totally socially awkward. Basically that background character.
Appearance: He has a sharp face, taking after his mother. His eyes are blue and they are almond shaped but turn upwards a little bit at the edges, though not as much as Saturn, his twin sister. He has wavy black hair, and doesn’t blush (like physically can’t, at least not from emotion). He has a somewhat slim build, and likes to wear hoodies (in my story it’s for a whole other reason that I don’t wanna get into but since no special powers uh I guess he just likes hoodies). His favourite colours are black, grey white and other kinds of shades like these because I give my characters colour schemes involuntarily sometimes – well, most of the time, actually. Anyway, he wears clothes and such in those colours most of the time. He usually wears sneakers.
Personality: He seems to melt into the background a lot, and unless the teasing is directed at him or his sister, he normally steps out of the way unless it’s getting out of hand. In short, he fits the stereotype perfectly in most ways.
Outlying traits/how they differ from the stereotype: He can be sassy when he wants to be, and has great comebacks. He can’t stand bullies and unlike most people will stand up for others only when things get out of hand, not the other way around. (Unless it’s Saturn, of course. What? They’re twins, okay. “Through ups and downs and lefts and rights, I’ll always be by your side.” is their motto. No stealing.)
Backstory/anything else you would want to add: His parents died in an accident in an elevator. He and his twin sister Saturn were raised by their aunt since then, ever since their parent’s marriage (and death) anniversary when the twins were ten.
Okay, it may seem like some things are missing, but because a lot of things in this story are shaped from coincidences that have to do with powers, I can’t add anything on that. If you were wondering, yes, Saturn is supposed to be a main character as well, which is why she’s such a big part of Mercury. Oh another thing, they’re named after Roman mythological figures, not planets. And yes, Mercury’s last name is an anagram of placeholder.
Eep I think missed out the fact that Mercury has myopia but doesn’t know so he doesn’t wear spectacles.
I missed quite a bit. Here:
Mercury hates heights and crowds, just as Saturn despises small spaces and being alone. The crowds thing is irrational, but he developed a fear of heights due to his parents plunging to their deaths. (Uh sorry if that was too straight on….) Saturn’s claustrophobic because of the same thing. They both are extremely clumsy.
Name: Jenna Andrew
Box/Label/stereotype: That one super mean girl who bullies everyone
Appearance: Peroxide blonde, waist-length hair, blue eyes, flawless skin, really pretty. Wears pink, preppy clothes.
Personality: She can be really mean is you piss her off, but normally, she’s pretty nice. She loves to act and be in the spotlight, and can sing very well. She doesn’t like to put other people down, but she will if someone’s bullying her friends.
Outlying traits/how they differ from the stereotype: She actually isn’t that mean, people just think she is because of her competitiveness.
Backstory/anything else you would want to add: YEET
Hi, sorry if this isn’t great, I don’t have much time to complete it, so I’ll elaborate on it later!
Name: Rowan Byrne
Box/Label/stereotype: A dull, uninteresting character, quite spoilt.
Appearance: She has a sallow, unhealthy skin tone. Her cheekbones jut out of her face, giving her a sharp-edged look. Pale, watery brown eyes centre her face, wide set. Edging her face is limp brown hair that hangs in clots by her ears which is tied back in a ponytail. A sour expression is permanently fixed on her face: she has faint lines stretching from one eyebrow to another as a cause of this. Her clothes are plain and unflattering, to fit her appearance.
Personality: Rowan is a kind but ungenerous girl, which is often taken for ingratitude. She never gives others gifts, but only because she feels she will not be able to find the right present for them. She is slowly becoming her stereotype, due to the neglect she receives from her acquaintances and family and is struggling to stay afloat. Inside, Rowan is a bubbly, excitable girl, very bright and quirky too, but nothing will ********* her cold exterior, except for kindness, which doesn’t come to her often.
Outlying traits/how they differ from the stereotype: She is not spoilt and dull, only misjudged and as she has not corrected those who believe this, it has lead to them being assured that she is. Rowan has many story and tales inside her and a great sense of humour, if only others would see it.
Backstory/anything else you would want to add: Her parents are very rich but they leave her in care of her grandparents, which means she becomes sour and angry, a cause of the neglect. She has seen horrors and miracles happen, but is quite indifferent to them.
Thanks for the 18!😁😁😁
Name: Regan Hardel
Box/Label/stereotype: Dumb **** A.K.A works out a lot, focuses on sports, not doing so well in school.
Appearance: Regan has glazy, caramel skin, long legs and short torso. She has frizzy brown hair that is always pinned up in ponytail, has glassy, wide brown eyes with fat, sculpted eyebrows. Small hooked nose and wide, thin lips.
Personality: FRIEND POV (I wanted her friends to describe her.) Regan is very quite in class, her mind always somewhere else. The only thing Regan is really known for is her basketball skills, and how she can beat the boys any day. She hides her smile a lot, but she is very bubbly and a little flaky. Before every test (that she usually fails at) she twist her hair tight enough that her scalp bleeds.
Outlying traits/how they differ from the stereotype: (POV Regan) The one class she does not fail at is English. Regan loves poetry and she thinks if she tells her friends about it she will be bullied and be kicked off the team.
Backstory/anything else you would want to add: When she was very young, her Grandaddy told her that she don’t gotta be smart, she don’t gotta be pretty, she just gotta be happy. Her whole life she was focusing on what makes her happy, and she always thought it was sports, but the past year her Granddaddy pasted away and now she’s rethinking what makes her, her.
Name: Jocelyn Milt
Box/Label/stereotype: Teachers Pet
Appearance: Jocelyn has medium length red hair. It goes down to her shoulders and it is VERY curly. She is very tall, 5’9. She has forest green eyes and wears glasses over them. She has pale skin. Her usual style is denim shorts with a t-shirt.
Personality: Jocelyn always has her nose stuck in a book. She knows alot about the world and she loves to tell people about it, but when she does it makes her come across as Smart Alecky. She is very kind and a natural born leader. She is considered a teachers pet because she always gets the best grades on tests and is always asked to help another student with the lesson.
Outlying traits/how they differ from the stereotype: Jocelyn has gotten the most detentions out of all her friends. She got one for playing tag with her BFFs, four for calling people names (They called her names first!), and one for helping another student on a test.
Backstory/anything else you would want to add: Jocelyn grew up in a small town where the closest shopping mall was two hours away. Most of the girls spent their weekends begging their parents to take them to the mall, while Jocelyn spent them begging her parents to take her too the library 15 miles away. Until Jocelyn was in the 3rd grade she was the smartest kid in class. When she moved she started struggleing alot until she got help from her friends. After that she was the top student and a lot of her peers hated her making her an easy target for bullying. She got alot her detentions just from defending herself.
Name: Ann Roberts
Box/Label/stereotype: Quirky, shy, introverted. “iM nOt LiKE oThER giRlS!” (I hate girls like this 🙄)
Appearance: brown hair, pale-ish, always wearing sweaters and jeans. not that pretty, not that ****
Personality: she’s “quirky” and she loves anime. She thinks TikTok and instagram suck (the first one does ok) and is just really the Im nOT lIkE oThEr GirLs person.
Outlying traits/how they differ from the stereotype: she does say “i’m not like other girls” a lot, but she’s not the complete “tomboy” and does sometimes wear makeup.
Backstory/anything else you would want to add: nah
@ms-granger, I had a question about the ranking system. Is 1rst place the best, like in the book? Or is it the better you did, the more points you get? Because in my other classes, they said that 20 is the best
First place is the best, because you get 20 points for it. Whatever number is next to your username, is your rank/number of points. So if you get 20 next to your name, you are the best. And If you get 1 next to your name, you are the ‘worst’. This is all for fun though, so don’t let your rank get to you too much. Everyone has different opinions, and something someone is less pleased with might make someone else happy.
Fantastic explanation! We would have like to do it the way it is in the book, but it just wouldn’t work for our system because someone who doesn’t do the assignment at all would end up with lower and then better scores than someone who placed first in all of their classes. So the more points you get the better, and twenty is the best. I can only give one twenty per class.
alrighty! here we are
Name: Summer Vanderbilt
Box/Label/stereotype: the innocent, sweet girl
Appearance: light brown hair at the roots, fading to a dark blond at the tips, which are slightly above the end of her ribcage. Her hair is normally straight and shiny, sometimes pulled back in space buns or braids. She has soft, arabesque skin that almost always has a lingering scent of vanilla cake from her favorite lotion. She’s certainly not tall, slightly below average height and a rather thin person, not much muscle anywhere. She has innocent and sweet eyes, the blue color of cotton candy, wide and unassuming with dark lashes. Her face is soft and round, very sweet and slightly cherub-like, bare, slightly there freckles sprinkled over her nose. She normally wears light, pastel colors, or just vibrant colors, whatever she can find. She loves wearing shorts and tees, they remind her of summer, both her favorite season and her namesake.
Personality: Just like the season, Summer is bright and cheerful, almost always happy and finding a way to compliment people. She’s warm and kind, though very energetic and buoyant. Although, her compassion and forgiving nature aren’t always kind to her. She trusts far too easily, lets people in and doesn’t think that they could hurt her, and ends up getting hurt in the end. Also, focusing isn’t her strong suit, people are really what drives her, so she’s not great in school. Otherwise, she’s very fun-loving and a party-goer, thanks to her extrovertedness.
Outlying traits/how they differ from the stereotype: She actually has a bit of a lying streak. She grew up with strict parents, so lying was a skill she mastered young, and uses it rather frequently.
Backstory/anything else you would want to add: Not much of a backstory, but to add to the stereotype I’m saying the “bad boy” has a crush on her.
You should be able to. All the teachers have links to apply to any class in each of their activity’s. (I think.) royalfudge has the links for sure though.
hey! i’m really sorry, but my school recently started online classes and stuff, and i think i need to focus on them for now, so could i maybe be untagged? again, i really apologize, and i’m sad to go, but i’ve been super busy lately. :c
Me too.But it maybe solved by planning, but it’s still difficult
Name: Lilia Hanerwick
Box/Label/stereotype: Quiet Girl
Appearance: Lilia has curly brown hair and overgrown bangs and caramel skin. She is average height and weight for her age and you could say that she has somewhat of an athletic stature (see outlying traits). She has faded freckles across her nose and tends to dress in ripped mom jeans and comfy tops. She always has her hair in a frizzy ponytail.
Personality: Lilia is smart and introverted. Not having many friends never bothered her because her best friends are her books. She is oftentimes found bent over with her nose in a book or writing a story. She loves to get lost in a fantasy world hoping it is better than her own, dull one. She is surprisingly athletic and loves to blow off steam by playing soccer when she’s not reading.
Outlying traits/how they differ from the stereotype: She is very athletic, loves soccer and is very good at it too. She is not at really considered a “****” or hangs out with them but is the most talented out of all of them by far.
Backstory/anything else you would want to add: Is the middle child in a family of seven kids.
OK.I’m sorry to ask again, but what’s wrong with being a boy?
I just said that because Mercury and now Lukas are the only guys here; the other characters are female. Sorry if I caused any confusion.
Name: Max Ullom
Box/Label/stereotype: Dopey Sidekick
Appearance: Max has a mop of shaggy straw blonde hair, and leaf green eyes, as well as a pointed nose. He is skinny and gangly, with light skin and freckles around his nose.
Personality: Max isn’t the brightest. He is fun and playful, and overall your typical sidekick. Max is the average sidekick, he makes dumb jokes and gets below average grades. He loves comic books, and isn’t very neat with his possessions at all. He’s quite clueless about a lot of things.
Outlying traits/how they differ from the stereotype: Max loves, loves sports. He doesn’t play on a team or anything, but he occasionally shoots a few hoops, but mostly it’s just watching a game on tv while eating chips.
Backstory/anything else you would want to add: Max likes any body of water, and just likes to hang out in the rain sometimes.
Sounds like Percy-
Sorry I’ve been obsessed with the Percy Jackson universe lately and I can’t stop XD
