My Ranking Points
Hello everyone. Welcome back to Royal Power!
@lilybug567 – 10
Your characters were all great last week, so I gave everyone who did one 10 points. The leader of our individual class has 42 points! I’m not sure if I’m allowed to say who it is, so I won’t, but I’ll find out. Second place is only three points behind, so don’t get too comfortable on that throne. (It’s also a different person from last week, who was different from the week before that, to give you a sense of how fast things change.) At the end of the month, we’ll begin adding up scores and crowning some class captains! There might even be prizes if they leave me in charge of that department.
Anyway, on to today’s lesson! It hinges on last week’s lesson, so if you haven’t seen that post at all, click this link and go read it. https://schoolforgoodandevil.com/members/ms-granger/activity/1660907/?rid=4149859#acomment-1668542
If you have seen that post, you’re still going to need the link.
So today, we are writing stories! Again! Sorry if you don’t like writing stories, it seems we do this a lot.
Your job is to go back to last week and choose 3 characters that you and your classmates have written, and write a short story about them. You can put them into any genre, (which is why I told you not to give them any special powers and stuff) and use any combination of characters. You don’t have to use your own, even, just use any three. (Or more, of you’d like). At the top of your post, put the names of the character, the stereotype the original author gave, and that original authors username for each character.
I’m giving ranks based on how well you adhere to the bios written last week and the introspectiveness (grammar?) of your stories. Have fun with it!
This sounds fun! I don’t know when I’ll be finished, but it should be done before Friday.
I did give you a score! I didn’t bother putting them on the tag list because everyone got a ten. (That thirteen next to Miss Iceangel and the ten next to Miss Lilybug was from last week and I forgot to delete it.) So sorry for that confusion!
Hey @ms-granger, since I didn’t make my character lest week, this is my bio for one of the characters I will be using. I think the story will take me a while, and I will be done about Sunday.
Name: Kailey Hansen
Box/Label/stereotype: the nerdy girl
Age: 12 (almost 13)
Appearance: straight black hair, has contact lenses. She dresses in comfortable clothes and the occasional science club shirt. Her hair is usually in a high ponytail or down. Freckles dot her nose and cheek area, one thing she dislikes.
She is a quick learner and a hard worker. Kailey has to balance clubs and extracurricular activities, but she is a bit forgetful and details can slip her mind. She is smart, reserved and quiet in class making her the yearly winner of the “top student” award with her straight A’s. She is a perfectionist and thinks she has to be as close to perfection as possible. As a result, she gets upset over anything that is not a 100% and something lile a pushover during group projects.People think she is snobbish and a teacher’s pet for those reasons but her closest friends know that she can be outgoing once you know her.
Outlying traits/how they differ from the stereotype:
All Kailey had wanted to do was to play soccer her whole life. She was the top scorer and captain for her juniors team in 4th grade, and attended soccer camps as much as her parents let her. However, her parents worried that her grades were slipping as she concentrated on soccer. When she bombed a Math test because of practice, they recommended her not to focus on soccer so much. She planned to try out for the girls’ varsity team in middle school but her parents stopped her from doing so until her grades improved. Determined to play again, Kailey began to study like crazy. If she wasn’t at school or practice, you would’ve found her in her room studying. Her work eventually paid off and she made into the team in 7th grade. Afraid that she would have to quit soccer, she focuses much of her energy on schoolwork whenever she could. Eventually, word spread when she won the science fair and most people just knew Kailey for her grades. She gets backlash because of her reputation as “nerd” in school and tries to ignore it as much as she can. Unlike her academic excellence, her passion for soccer is almost unknown except by her family, coach, teammates and her closest friends.
hey, could you please untag me? i’m sorry, but i’m too busy with online classes rn. again, i apologize!
could you please untag me? I signed up for way too many classes 😬
Anyone that didn’t make a character last week and would like to in addition to their story, I will award five points!
Can I take the class average this week? I’ve got a big project to do for school. I’m really sorry, and I hope to be back next week!
Hey, uh, I can’t do this one because I don’t actually have the time to think of a story; sorry.
Online school. The cause for so many problems XD
eep, so I started this project, but I’m having an incredibly hard time coming up with an idea. I’m sorry, but unless some miracle cure to this writer’s block happens, idk if I can do this one 🙁
Aw, all right. If you do come up with something, don’t worry if it’s not overly creative. Everything is good!
Hai! I’m so sorry, but I don’t think I’ll be able to do this one! Can you give me the class average? My computer broke so I’m using my moms! Also online schools taken up so much time and I don’t really want to be too glued to this.
eeek I forgot when is the deadline? I can have the story finished by tomorrow but I forgot if the deadline is 1 week or 5 days.
The deadline is technically supposed to be Saturday, but I never grade things on Saturday, so as long as it’s turned in before I put out the next lesson, it’s all good.
However, I’ll extend this one until next Monday and we’ll do a less time consuming lesson tomorrow!
When we do post it, do we just tag you, or do we post it here?
