Chapter 36: Ruins, Literally
Well, school ended. I ended as #1 Ever, although it was a tie with Chris, Beatrice, Olivia, and me. We sat on the flowerground, taking selfies and such, when the loudspeaker announced Bayern Palace.
“Well, that’s my stop,” I grabbed my luggage. My friends were gaping at the window. “What’s wrong with the lot of you?” I looked and gasped…
“Bayern Palace” the loudspeaker announced. Bayern. My ex’s home. Whatever.
“Um… Chris? Is that the castle or is that some old ruins?” I turned to see what Dylan was pointing at. Out the window was a castle on fire.
I CAN’T BELIEVE IT! MY SISTER BURNED THEIR PALACE! I stared at the burning castle. All the dead bodies, oh it was horrible! The train came to a stop and Taliana sprinted out, leaving her luggage. Lily and I grabbed her stuff, and all of us followed her out. ALL of us.
“Dad! MOM! ISI! TUSKEN!!!” I screamed and put the fire out. Finally, I saw my family leaning over one body… my dad’s. “DAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
“Hey, sweetie pie,” he said weakly.
“Dad, no! Stay with me.” I gathered some water to heal him.
“It’s no use,” my mom cried, hugging him like her life depended on it.
“I love you, Taliana,” he said.
“I love you too, Daddy. You’re gonna live, I replied and managed a weak smile through my tears.
I saw Taliana run out, and I ran out after her. When I saw her crying over a body, I ran to her. “Taliana?” And then, I saw her holding a middle aged man’s hand. Most likely her father.
“Take care of my girl,” he said.
“I will, I will,” I vowed.
“Make her happy. Promise me you’ll be happy Taliana,” he turned to her.
“I can’t. Not without you,” she cried.
“You’ll learn. It’ll take time. All your friends will help.” She kept talking to him, but I turned to see all the other Evers in a circle around them. All except one…
“SICILY, YOU IDIOT!!!” I screamed. I ran over to the dark figure and kicked her head.
“Good to see you too little sis. Ever,” Sicily smirked. “How’s it feel like to be good? Sad much?”
“Sicily, you are in h*lla trouble girl,” I said, tossing her over into a tree.
“Or am I?” she spat. She jumped out of the tree, and tackled me to the ground. She slapped my face. “Just wait till dad sees you! He’ll give you one h*ll of a beating. I kicked her stomach, and tackled her.
“Nah. You’ll end up like Selia: dead.” I kicked her in the you know what and punched her face. She got knocked out.
NO. It’s too sad. No… Taliana’s dad talked to Taliana and Christopher. After a final loud “I love you,” he exhaled. And didn’t breathe again. And that was it for Taliana.
“NO DAD!!! NO NO, Daddy…” she cried in Chris’ arms. As for us? Oh, we all wanted to do something, I’m sure. But now… she just needed time. And the castle has to be rebuilt. Which she can do.
“No… dad. No, no, no! Daddy,” I cried. I grabbed Christopher around the neck and held him close. Not to mention really tightly. Although he wrapped his arms around me, I could hear him gasping for air. “D-d-d-Daddy! Daddy, he-he-he’s g-g-gone.” I looked up, full of hope. “Wake me up now.”
“Taliana!” a voice cried out. Sarah walked over past the crowd of villagers and dragged a body with her. “One h*ll of a sister, this ******* is. I told her not to attack,” she muttered some stuff I didn’t understand. “This is who set the fire,” Sarah said, kicking her over.
