Part Ten (aka The Epic Conclusion!)
I noticed Tedros too late. He had already seen the hug and was on edge. “Tedros,” I said cautiously “It’s not what it looks like.” “Really,” Tedros snipped. “Because it looks like you two were bonding!” I was heating with frustration. “HE GAVE ME A SWORD YOU OAFISH FOOL!” By then I was literally on fire. I was so bright Rafal and Tedros had to look away. Apparently I was also putting off a lot of smoke because both boys decided to go outside to let me cool off. Rafal snapped his fingers and a staircase to the ground appeared. I followed them. Sword in hand, I looked on as the boys started punching each other. “STOP!” I yelled. Both boys turned to look at me. “Don’t fight.” I said. Tedros sneered. “No. I’m gonna fight. We’re gonna fight. Over you.” I ran to Rafal. “You don’t have to do this,” I pleaded “What can I do to make you stop?” The boys looked at each other. “Choose,” They said in unison. I looked back and forth. The Prince. The Master. The Prince. The Master. I ran to The Master. “Wise choice my sweet.” He said in a sugary tone. A tone I hated. “I’m sorry Tedros,” I said “I have to do this.” I shortened my sword to a dagger, and turned to kiss Rafal. I pressed myself to him, shed a single tear, and plunged the dagger through both of our hearts. The Prince ran to my side. With my dying breath I said “Take care of your Princess, Teddy. Sorry I ever made you choose. Can we still be friends?” As he held back tears he said: “Always.” Then the world slipped from my grasp, and was no more.
