Head spinning, I fingered the rose in my lap. It smelt of rose, obviously and a hint of…liquorice?I was dazed that he actually threw the rose at me. Me? Why me when there was Tara, ravishing as ever, next to me?
“It’s destiny Ray!” cried Ava excitedly. “I’m meant to be with George and your meant to be with whatever that guys name is!”
I took little notice and nodded dreamily. Tara glared daggers at me, and then moved to where the winning Everboy was sitting and started shamelessly flirting with him. He ignored her and gazed at me with those piercing eyes. I flushed and decided to listen to the rules.
“ALRIGHT YOU BAGS OF DIRT. YOU BETTER SHAPE UP OR-” Castor started.
Pollux interrupted with a:
“Castor, why don’t I start?”
He explained all about Morgrifs and Leaders and Sidekicks and lessons, rules and Alumni. It was pretty boring to be honest. Ava stole furtive glances at the cute boy who had thrown his rose at her, mooning over him. We really needed to learn their names.
At last, we were dismissed into our respective schools, ready to finish off the day and prepare for lessons tomorrow. As we were filing into our schools, the boy, the boy, caught up with me.
“Hey!” he called out, Evergirls listening to his every word. “I didn’t get your name: I’m Daniel of Rainbow Gale, how about you?”
I blushed madly, my face an instant tomato.
“I’m, uh, I’m Rayla of Camelot,” I finally blurted out.
His face brightened. “Cool! My dad is one of your dad’s knights.”
That was when I recognised him.
“Your dad is…Oliver?” I asked tentatively.
He nodded. ‘I’ll see you in class tomorrow Rayla.”
And he left me hyperventilating like a stupid princess while Evergirls went green with envy.

(NEW CHARACTER POV)
I sat in my bedroom in the Evil castle.
“Yvonne, get here now,” I snapped.
My friend scurried to me, looking great as an evil goth/punk, with flaring red eyes, black hair, pale skin and ripped clothing.
“Yes Alma?” she asked.
“I think we need one more person in our coven,” I started. “A coven has three. We’re just a duo. Let’s snag the Evil witch with the most potential.”
She nodded respectfully.
My black, white and red greasy hair fell in my face, covering my eyepatch. An eye that shifted colours glared from my face to the world. I had on the newly styled Never uniform Dean Sophie had made compulsory, with a few extra touches…Time to become the most fearsome witch in the school. Time to become Class Captain. Time to win the Trial by Tale and the Circus of Talents. Time to lead Evil to a great victory…
“Let’s go get another cove member,” I told Yvonne
