My Ranking Points
The pain’s almost gone now.
I don’t know whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing. It hurt, but I think maybe it was the only thing keeping me alive.
I should go out. Find people. Socialise. If you can call it that.
I walk out, limping. All around, I see people in wheelchairs, with broken bones and pulled muscles. It seems that being hurt isn’t unusual around here.
I walk over to three girls: Phoebe, Mae and Ellen. Phoebe looks familiar. I think she used to work at the palace?
Lyn is getting useful. She remembers everything. Phoebe is staring at me suspiciously, but Mae and Ellen look relieved.
“Guys, we need to go to fight training,” Phoebe announces before I can say anything.
Okay. Fight training.
I walk into the practise room and we start by throwing knives. My leg is already aching. I hit the target on the first time. Phoebe scowls, like she wanted to be the first to hit it.
After that, we start archery. It’s odd how everyone seems so at home here. I pull the string and let go, hoping that it hits the target. It is wildly off course, but a few metres away from the target a ray of light hits it, knocking it right into the target.
Phoebe comes over. “What was that?” she asks, showing the first sign of an emotion that isn’t contempt or pity.
“My power.” I am cold. I am ice. I really don’t like this girl.
There’s just something about her that makes me feel like she’s a… snake. Nothing good, anyway. I feel like she’d sell me out without a second thought.
She looks interested, but not in a good way. It’s like she’s… scoping me out, trying to see how I could help her. She’s a survivor. She will do anything to survive.
It’s odd, how I know these things. It’s like I had with Anya, how I wanted to protect her from the very beginning. Except with Anya, I trust her. Phoebe, never.
I will never trust again.
Hope you liked this, sorry if it was shorter than usual, but like always constructive criticism is welcome.
Was Anya in that class? Or were there different classes going on at the same time? And does she mean she’ll only trust Anya, or not even her? Sorry, I have a lot of questions
