Sorry, but These people are too old to play 12-15 year olds
It’s okay @Seleneofravenswood. You can defend yourself. Also, child actors to me are not the best because there missing out in there whole childhood. You may think oh well I 2ant to be famous. But when ur finished you realized that your in college now and just missed most of your CH and you can’t go back and do it over.
Fans are also very inexperienced. Sorry, but the movie may not be as good with us acting. Also, I feel like the characters are mature and we’d get that vibe in the movie with adult actors (in their late teens and early 20s, though). It would also make the movie more famous/well known.
I have almost a hundred friends and I am one of the most popular kid in school because there was a whole fiasco with a boy and no HE WAS NOT MY BOYFRIEND so I could get a lot of friends to watch me
You don’t have to be a professional, you could’ve done a theater class or been in drama club. Plus, if the characters are already mature and experienced in the first book, there’s no need for character development and no point for doing the others. Besides, if they’re 16 in book 4 then they’re 12-13 ish in book 1. And at 12-13, you look young like a kid, not like an adult who takes care of his/her skin and eats healthy. They’ve done fancasting for other movies like Harry Potter and look at them and the actors. Those movies were successful both critically and financially, and the once so called “inexperienced” fans have now become really famous actors. Even if they don’t cast fans, they should cast people the right age. It’s even been said by Soman that they’re not under 12 but over 15 in book 1
My point is, age doesn’t matter in the movies. Well, as long as the characters aren’t portrayed by actors in their late 20s or 30s. But is it wrong to have a 22 year old playing 14-16 year olds? Like I’ve said, it’s been done before, it can be done again. Tedros was shirtless for half of Book 1 where he was supposedly 12/13. (Actually the series spans over two years, so he would be 14). The point is, would you want a 13 year old having their shirt off? I don’t even think that’s allowed. Even the fan casting for the countdown asked for 16-17 year olds and they all looked fairly mature and could’ve been in their 20s. I don’t think we should stay limited to a certain age group especially if the books don’t stress on it too much. You say there are many talented child actors. I say there are many talented young adult actors who could do just as well, if not better in the movie.
THe countdown was for book 4. Not book 1. If they’re from 12-15 in book 1, then they’re 13-16 in 2, 14-17 in 3, and 15-18 in 4. You start looking like an adult at 16-18, so I do get where you’re coming from, but you still look more childish at 12-13. And I’ve seen lots of boys younger than 13 shirtless because they get sweaty and hot, even if it’s just at the pool. The age actually does matter in a way because it shows the trio starting off as young inexperienced kids, and throughout the books they grow into young adults. Even if you casted someone in their early 20s, there will be six books so six (or seven if they split the last one into two) and if a movie comes out each year, then the actors will be nearly 30 by the time the series ends. And 27-30 is not close to 17-19. It’s fine if the actors are in their early 20s by the end, but that’s it. I’m not trying to be mean or anything, it’s just my personal opinion and there’s no such thing as a stupid opinion or idea. I’m leaving cause I don’t want this to escalate into an arguement. Thanks for listening to my rants
But we don’t want to have the movie end up like Percy Jackson. After watching just the first movie, it completely ruined the series for me. The cast should be the right age, and the actors have to be played well. If they look too old or too young, then they look too old or too young. Accuracy is key! I don’t want Tedros older than 13-14 in book 1, because that’s how old he is. Not older than that.
I don’t think the cast of the main characters should be this old.
I get what you mean @moviestarawesome445 in the Percy Jackson movies the first move was good but had no relation to the book other than names and a lightning bolt. The second one was just flat out horrible. They tried to make it more like the book but they just made it horrible.
