Following from @catsforlife, does anyone think that the girl who plays Agatha actually look like her? Do you think they’ll dye her hair? I think Agatha definitely has to have black hair, as it specifically states in the books

Apparently Soman is going to be VERY involved in the movie, which is great. The Percy Jackson movies totally ******, they would’ve been better of Rick Riordan had some control over the movies. Hopefully because Soman can control some things the movie will be great at the end.
Oh and I forgot to add that Soman has experience with the movie industry which might be why he was included a bit more than usual
The trailer was amazing!! The music added so much to the video, and I wonder who the masked person is… And at the start of the trailer there’s Merlin’s hat, will he play a big part in this?

Soman, you have experience with creating films, we had a short unit at school on Film Making but I had one question that never got answered even when an actual film writer came. So what’s the difference between a film producer and a film director?

Does anyone else think we should do open casting, even for the main characters? It’s worth a shot, new talent could audition and the SGE film could be the first major thing for that person. I personally think that the main roles should go to professional actors, not only because they are more reliable on conveying emotions but if we use a child who isn’t a professional actor they could be easily overwhelmed with holding a whole movies series on their back, it could scare them into quitting or scar them mentally
I think scarring someone mentally was being a little extreme, because it isn’t as common, however, I completely agree with you talking about conveying emotions. This is what I’ve been trying to tell people who say that we “know the characters better”, because even if we do, prof. actors/actresses with training are the ones who can truly convey…[Read more]
i agree with that logic, but i think this movie should bring in a new generation of actors/actresses because i feel we are always seeing the same ones in every movie/tv show, just my thought
Well, professionals aren’t always well-known.
@moviestarawesome445 I never said they had to be famous nor well-known, but when I mean professional I mean those who have had either acting experience professionally (e.g. outside of school), had lessons, or something else. I understand that others also have the potential but I would say that’s a minority.

also, I hate when people use the Harry Potter movies as an example because the Harry Potter fandom was already HUGE, Sge isn’t the biggest, with HP, statistically there was going to be a handful of good actors within the fandom because of the sheer number
Plus, tbh, the HP movies could’ve been better, casting-wise. Emma Watson and Tom Felton were fans and they were great…but I didn’t really like any other of the parts played by fans.
