CHAPTER TWENTY ONE
THE PROPHET OF ZODIAC – The Killer
“Alright,” said Taurus, “we’re going to the castle.”
And then? screamed Sagittarius. Don’t have a plan? PFFT! Reason I would be a better leader.
“And then,” continued Taurus calmly as if she had heard Sagittarius, “we’ll kill Serpentina and fufil the prophecy.”
“A real prophecy,” marvelled Aquarius, “written by Zodian’s wife Solare. And we, regular students, are going to fufil it!”
“Let’s go,” said Gemini. “Libra, me and Aquarius’ll go down the cliff first. One at a time, we’ll catch you.”
The air signs jumped off, creating breezes to catch themselves. Their feet gently touched the forest floor.
All was going well. Capricorn was last to jump off.
“I’ll catch him.” Danae readied her hands. But as Capricorn leapt off, something strange happened. No breeze flooded from her palms. Her mouth felt like sandpaper, she couldn’t scream, as Capricorn plummeted to his death.
Desperate, Gemini pushed her hands out. But it was too much. She slammed his head against the cliffside.
“NO!” screamed Gemini, crying. She fell to the ground. No one rushed to Capricorn. He was dead.
“I HATE YOU!” screamed Gemini to Danae, eyes red. Angry eyes bore into Danae’s skin.
“I… I loved him!” sobbed Gemini, voice muffled through her hands.
Taurus turned to Danae, steely.
“Go, run off, until you have forgiven yourself, truly,” instructed Taurus.
Wordlessly nodding, Danae ran into the jungle.
I killed Capricorn.
