My Ranking Points
So I have been writing this book called: Brown Eye, Green Eye. Tell me what you think in the comments! Thank you!
“It looks like the LIVE company director, Nicolas Lawrence, is here to speak about the new memorial at DC.”
“Hi Trisha. Yes, what you see in front of you is the new memorial celebrating our famous baby boom era. This Memorial is for those of you who have your roots in the baby boom era. I can’t wait to show you this new land marker.”
“And there you have it folks. LIVE ordered this to be built and we can’t wait to show you around. The outside is a massive hexagon with a pointed roof. We will show you the inside after…”
Static played across the TV.
“So baby Lawrence has finally showed up and is building a hideout for his schemes. So pathetic.”
“Sir, what do we have against Lawrence again? He is a famous billionaire, who started the LIVE Company and made rescue vehicles more safe.”
“Boy, you don’t know what you are talking about. Lawrence is a mad man and the world would be safe without him.”
“But I thought you said he had an ability too.”
“Exactly, his ability is persuasion. WE will take him down one day, Junior. One day.”
Chapter 1 Jeanna
I have one green eye and one brown eye. The green eye sees the truth, but the brown eye sees much, much more. You might think something happened to make me have two different colored eyes, but nope. I was born this way. My aunt says I have one eye of each of my parents. Kids would tease me about my eyes but I knew they were just jealous. You probably just rolled your eyes and scoffed that I really don’t know. Three words: my green eye. It tells me the truth while also seeing like a real eye. I also know that you are wondering my brown eye does. Well, it sees into the future.
There is a future that my eye keeps showing me. Bang! A girl slumps against a boy as a man tries to capture them. The boy snaps his fingers and the girl and him are in another place. She smiles at the boy. Leaning down, he is about to kiss her when the man suddenly appears next to the happy couple. The girl screams and out of her fingertips come lightening. Blue lightening. It strikes the man in the heart and he kneels down. Then the vision closes.
It always frustrates me because the girl is fuzzy, the vision always stops there, and the boy is so gorgeous. He has ***** blonde hair with cloudy blue eyes. His muscles are toned and he… cares about the girl so much. I have wanted someone who could look me in the eyes like that. I sigh.
Beep! Beep! Stupid Alarm clock! I get out of my bed slowly.
“Jeanna!” calls Aunt Celeste
“I’m coming!” I call back, while throwing on my clothes. I run down the stairs and gobble up my blueberry oatmeal.
“Jeanna, slow down! You are going to choke. Bus arrives at 6:46,” said Aunt Celeste, as Uncle Beryl lumbered in. He kisses my aunt and slaps me on the back, making me almost spit out my oatmeal.
“Hi, Uncle Beryl.” I croak out, as I finish up my breakfast. I dash up the stairs and brush my teeth. My aunt is a dental hygienist and always hammers down on me brushing my teeth. I put a green eye contact on my brown eye so no one can stare at my different eye. The contact also blocks out visions of the future… sometimes.
I grab my backpack and run down the stairs. After my aunt and uncle smother me with a hug, I gallop out the door. My feet skip all the way to the bus stop. Today is the first day back to 10th grade from winter break and I am so excited. My best friend, Shannon, slowly walks to the bus stop. Her house is down the street from ours. We had been friends since 3rd grade, when we found out that we both loved Nancy Drew Books. She had red hair with blonde highlights and blue eyes with flecks of green. Her height of 5’8 towered over my 5’3. We high fived and started talking.
“I am so excited!” I told Shannon.
“Oh My Goodness, who likes school? All you are excited about is if ‘Frodo’ is coming.” She bantered back while slapping me across the back. What is it with all these people slapping me on the back?
So, yes, she had been told about my vision but only thought the vision was a dream. She also knew about “dream boy” and teased me about him. You are probably wondering about “Frodo”. Well, in the 5th grade, we had been assigned to read “Lord of the Rings”. I had a fictional crush on Frodo and told Shannon about my crush. Just his features. But she guessed my crush and thought this dream boy was another “Frodo”.
Someone bumped into me. Shannon’s eyes lit up and I knew whom it was. Eric bopped me on the nose.
“Whatcha talking about?”
Eric is our other best friend and…Shannon has a crush on him. He has black hair and piercing brown eyes. Eric plays on the football team and…also likes Shannon. I know because my eye tells me the truth. He told us he liked Arianna, the preppy cheerleader, who flirts with every cute boy. But that was last year, so everything could be different. Shannon tried out for cheerleading to impress Eric but she didn’t make it. That was fine because she rocked at basketball. Shannon was called the “Siren” because she looked like Ariel, the Disney princess.
We got on the bus and Shannon and I got a row with Eric right behind us. The bus arrived at Maddison High. We climbed out and headed to our homerooms. Sadly, Shannon was not in homeroom with Eric and me. We scurried to Room 222. Eric and I sat in the middle of the room. Just then the second bell rang and the rest of the students hurried in. An empty desk was beside me. I had a mental dance in my head.
“Class, I want you to meet the new student from Scotland. Please welcome, Alex Christian,” said Ms. Stegeroff.
I rolled my eyes. Sounded like a stuck up boy. He walked in. I was going to quickly glance at Alex and turn back to Eric to tell him something. When I saw him, I gasped and caught my jaw before it dropped.
Also, can I just say:
