My Ranking Points
Chapter 6 (back with Aspen)
I haven’t seen him in two days and I swear boredom has received a whole new meaning to me now. There is literally nothing to do besides eat when food appears and sleep. I would read a book but they are all fairy tales so I know them by heart. I hum a little tune to myself trying to stay positive.
“Oof!” says someone from behind me. I turn around and see two people fall out of mid air and one already on the ground. My first instinct was to run over there but my feet seemed rooted to the spot. I noticed they all had chains around their wrists as I did. Are they prisoners too?
“A-are you okay?” I asked.
“Do we look okay!” one of them shouted. I couldn’t tell which though. They all regrouped and stood up. They were Nevers. I started to back up as they examined me, two boys and a girl. The girl had blond and purple hair and was wearing a purple and black dress. She had a few tentacles curling around her legs as well. One of the boys had red and black spiked hair and had way more piercings than I could count. The other one was a bit short and had black hair, both with pale skin. None of them looked happy to see me.
“I-I um…” I stuttered and couldn’t seem to get words out. I had to avert my eyes to the ground. “Please don’t hurt me,” I said in a strained whisper. I still received no reply before we were all distracted by the boy standing in between us. It was my capturer again. He walked over to me a smug look on his face. He gently tilted my chin upwards so I looked at him.
“Hurt you? My dear they wouldn’t dare. Unless they wish to be harmed themselfs,” he said with a warning glare in the groups direction. The black haired boy scoffed.
“Please! We don’t have to listen to you at all! You can’t hurt us!” he said. There wasn’t a single bit of fear in his eyes when he said it.
“SHUT UP!” The white haired boy bellowed back. I didn’t notice I was still backing up so I hit the edge of my bed and fell onto it. I sat up and hugged my knees to my chest silently watching. “I do not want to hear another word from any one of you!” He turned back to me with a kind smile that I found extremely hard to believe after what just happened. “Now then, back to business. There is no need to be scared darling,” he said taking my hand. “They were just misbehaving. They are now your servants to do with what you wish. I’m deeply sorry but I must go. Suspicions are arising.” And he left me again. I glanced back over at the group of Nevers and it occurred to me that I didn’t know their names.
“Um, d-do you have names?” I asked. I wished so bad to free them of their chains but I didn’t have a key or magic strong enough to do so.
“What does it matter to you, Ever?” the girl spat at me.
“You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to but I’m Aspen,” I stated as calmly as I could. I see shock cross her face for just a second before it was replaced with another glare. She whispered something to the taller boy who’s eyes lit up with mischief.
“I’m Harley, that’s Neavea, and that’s Havar,” he said nodding to the girl and then the other boy, “and do we ever have something to tell you!” He had an evil smirk on his lips and his eyes searched my face, for what I don’t know, but I’m not sure I want to find out.
Hi everyone! So I’m now on break and hopefully I can get chapters up more frequently. Also, for all of you with an art request, hopefully those will be done soon too. Tell me what you think in the comments! 😉
