Chapter 7 (Finally! GAHHHHH I hate writers block!!!)
“Well, enlighten me. Or can your tiny Never brains not understand that big word?” I said. i instantly slapped my hands over my mouth. “I-I didn’t mean that it-it just…” That was a biiig mistake but after everything that has happened can you blame me? Harley started walking toward me, his hands curled into fists and a clenched jaw. The shorter one grabbed his shoulder though, stopping him.
“It’s not often you see an Ever with that much guts in her,” Havar said. “No wonder the School Master wants her.” He smiled with an evil grin. That was why the boy who kidnapped me looked familiar, I had seen him many times in a book as The Tale of Sophie and Agatha was one of my favorites. But what does he want with me? I’m not evil. Neavea laughed.
“So much for guts!” she said. I guess the terror spread to my face as well.
“B-but he’s dead,” I said, trying to come up with any excuse for this not to be real. “A-and what could he possibly want with me? I’m an Ever and an unpopular one at that. My magic is weak, I’m not very pretty, I don’t have a talent, I don’t have a family, I-” That last one choked me up. I always try not to think about that. I’ve never known my parents, if I have any brothers or sisters. I was raised at the school and no one will tell me of my early childhood here. All I know was that I was found in the Woods when I was three and brought to the school to be raised by the staff.
I broke down in tears. Perfect. Just what I needed a group of Nevers to see. Professor Dovey always told me I was super sensitive. Oddly enough, I felt a hand touch my shoulder. It was Neavea. Her face was stony but it was still a little comforting. Harley just stared and Havar wasn’t even looking. He stared at the ground letting his long black hair fall into his face.
