Hello everyone, and welcome to The Turquoise Thicket and the Tulip Garden!
Here are the rules if you don’t already know them:
You enter the trial with one handkerchiefs, (which I will also call flags) a small dagger, and whatever your talent is! This flag will be on your right ankle or foot and should stay there, unless someone steals and drops it, or you do. In this case, you’ll lose 3 points. The player who dropped your flag gains 3 points. If you lose your flag, you’ll be stuck watching the action for 12 hours. After that, your free to join any area of the forest you’d like and resume playing.
In order to eliminate another player, you need to make an attack and obvious grab for their flag, then wait for them to respond! If the other person counters in a way that prevents your original attack, you must begin again with a new offensive, and letting them respond. The judges will decide whether the elimination is valid, and if not, both of you will be sent to random places in the forest, decided by the Wheel of Where.
You only get one dagger to begin the trial, but you can win cool stuff like swords and health potions as well as points when the judges spin the Wheel of Who and the Wheel of Wonders! You earn 2 points for using your gift, or some of the gifts are simply points themselves.
But we also use the Wheel of Who to decide who gets trapped next. Speaking of traps, if you get caught in one, a judge will tag you with a cipher to solve. (Google form didn’t go so well last year.) If you get it right, you’re free to rejoin the trial and get 4 points. If not, you cannot rejoin until 24 hours later and will lose 3 points.
Don’t kill anyone.
This year, there will be multiple posts to represent different areas of the forest, each hosted by different judges. (We’ll all be around but it divides up the notifications a bit. ) You’ll find them all in your mentions. When you enter a new area, state that you have entered and let everyone know when you’re leaving to avoid confusion please. And if you know how to do bold font, please use it.
PG language please!
Not really a rule, but try to keep arguments to a minimum. The judges have a different, hopefully more judicial system of deciding whether moves and eliminations follow the rules. ( We actually didn’t have to use it last year so that was nice.) Instead of talking through every dispute among ourselves and the competitors, we’re just going to look at the disputed comment and anonymously vote on our judging/commentary doc. Hopefully that will simplify all our problems.
Another “not rule” but another new addition to the trial. This year we’re having a Sport Award! The trial is all about putting up a good fight, playing fair, and having fun. So the judges will nominate 3 Evers and 3 Nevers that have played a good game, regardless of how many points they scored. To our friends at the picnic, you get the final say who wins, so pay attention!

“Hewooo!!! Ooo! I liek the garden! Mochi! Look here! flowers!” *claps*
*A knife materializes and teases your flag halfway out of your pocket*
(I am not currently here, but I am commenting for notifications).
Yknow, if I wanna reach my goal of 5 traps a day I should start setting some off for the day sooooo
*I spin a giant wheel*
*all the flower pedals around you rip off the flowers, becoming razor sharp and flinging themself at you and everyone around you*
For this one, there is no cipher, defend yourself and don’t die!
*The gorgon teases Poet’s flag, then transforms into a hydra and pins her to the earth, yanking her flag into its teeth*
*Turns into a bee, still clutching Poet’s flag, and zips off to the Pumpkin Patch*
Once again, nope. She gets her flag back because you stole it while being attacked by rogue flower petals.
(I believe it was @/pastelmaddiearts who was attacked, actually)
@delilahkitty is out for 12 hours
Thou may return at 9:45pm MST time
*I walk into the Turquoise Thicket and hide behind a tree, watching the others to pick someone to attack*
*I sneak up behind Sandol and make an obvious grab for her flag. While she is distracted with that I use a strong current of water to pin her to a tree, the strength of the water holding her against the bark while my hand remains in her boot holding her flag*
*I shoot a bolt of lightning in the water, near where you are, electrifying it and you. You also notice sections of your wave disappearing and being turned into a thick fog as I use my power*
Soooo, are you going to defend yourself? I only ask since it’s been a day and a half or so
Yeaahhh well, I think we’re ending the trial here! It went on two weeks, so we had a good run, we just have to collect scores now! Thank you all for participating!
