Salutations! It’s technically Monday, but I’m on spring break and days have no meaning without school so it’s still Sunday. Erin referred to me as the “more responsible Eliot” on the last Council post but I’m not entirely sure if that’s true, seeing how I forgot it was my month yesterday. Or today. Since it’s still Sunday. Of course.
How’s everyone’s week been? Like I said, I’ve been on spring break so my week has been fairly uneventful. Except for when my family and I got stuck in San Fransisco for a day because of traffic. Oh, and I got braces! Of a sort. It’s Invisalign, so thankfully I can still eat things like boba (thank god), and it doesn’t hurt too much. Yet.
I suppose all of that does make my week seem fairly eventful. By quarantine standards, at least. But anyway, how’s everyone else doing? Have you guys had spring break yet or is yours coming up?
The only birthday this week is @doveys-apprentice, so happy birthday to them!
Which original kingdom- so not one mentioned in a fairytale, like Neverland- in the SGE world do you want to see more of? (For example: Borna Coric, Altazarra, Pifflepaff Hills).
A few weeks ago (I believe it was two?) Bailey pointed out an error in the Handbook, so I thought I’d do the same this week. It’s more of an inconsistency, but something I realized a while ago is that on location 78 of the kindle book (not sure what the corresponding page is in the physical copy), Sophie states that the worst Talent on display during her first year was Beatrix’s “vomit-inducing song to Tedros”. However, Sophie entered the Circus after Beatrix’s song, since she was undergoing her whole witchy transformation at the time. But maybe she just heard about it from someone later and automatically assumed it was awful.
“I have always told myself that I am too quick to trust others, and that is probably correct. Alliances will bring you help, power, and sometimes safety, but all alliances eventually break, unless they are not ones formed for survival, but for companionship.
In the end, only the latter choose to stay with one another.
And it is the difference between like, love…
But how was I supposed to sacrifice him for the world…when I’d sacrifice the world for him?
    and in love.”
That was an excerpt from @BronwynOfJauntJolie‘s new fantasy-action-romance book! It’s called Catching Stars, and they described it as appealing for readers of The Land of Stories, SGE, Alex Rider, Harry Potter, and Twilight. It’s for roughly 9-15 year olds. If you want to advertise anything, feel free to fill out this form!

That’s all for this week! Hopefully I didn’t mess up anything on my first Council post. Hope everyone’s having a good start to their April (we’re already a fourth through 2021 oh my god).

Here’s a short summary of Catching Stars that @/Bronwyn of Jaunt Jolie provided:
Raven is part of a species called Flai, whom are half fairy, half angel. Ever since an ancient war between Man and Flai, the gates to her kingdom have been enchanted shut to all for seemingly eternity.
She has been on the run all her life, until one day she is found by a boy named Sparrow, who wishes to take her “Home”. She is confused, as she is certain the Flai kingdom is completely impenetrable, and believes him to be a Flai hunter.
But soon it becomes evident that if she does not go with the boy, her life will be in jeopardy from more than a thousand guards.
With the entire world on the brink of a secret revolution, she must learn to trust, fight, and even kill, if she is to ever save her species.

        That’s the thing.
Raven wants to save her species. Simply liberate her kind, so man and flai may live in peace.

But her mother has other ideas.

          Shush

catsforlife replied 2 months, 2 weeks ago

So yes, you forgot tags on the last one and tried again

cattyrose replied 2 months, 2 weeks ago

ooh, I didn’t think of that in the handbook! Happy birthday!!
And I would love to see a little more of everywhere, but mostly Ravenswood

          uraza169 replied 2 months, 2 weeks ago

Ooh yes, Ravenswood sounds fun. And terrifying, since it’s a Never kingdom.

          doveys-apprentice replied 2 months, 2 weeks ago

          thanks Tash!!

cattyrose replied 2 months, 2 weeks ago

          np! how was it?

          doveys-apprentice replied 2 months, 2 weeks ago

My online “birthday” is tomorrow but it’s not my actual birthday for privacy reasons. My week is going alright though, I’m almost done with the main part of my school work for the semester so that is really exciting. My bestie and I are going to get helix piercings soon to celebrate so I’m really excited for that as well. 😀

cattyrose replied 2 months, 2 weeks ago

ahhhhh that’s awesome!!!!!! well have fun/hope you had fun!

        spiritdream1112 replied 2 months, 2 weeks ago

Apparently the heart on the playing card was originally a cup representing the holy grail. The spade represents a sword apparently

I did it I read all of the books in Persona 5.

Octdros’ last day was Friday and I didn’t know so I didn’t get to say bye to him

*struggles to get water eggs in New Horizons*
Oh well I’ll just trade with my villagers
My villagers: *Also struggled with water eggs*

        Cinderelleon: Can we watch something?
        Me: Uhh….D&D memes, yeah
*clicks the first video which is a tik tok compilation*
Cinderelleon: Wow! Tik Tok! It’s so old.

        Easter was unremarkable
Whoever is writing Dino Fury deserves a raise even if the memes are outdated because It has actually made me laugh
        Pifflepaff hills!!!

And here’s last weeks tablet crashers hopefully

          uraza169 replied 2 months, 2 weeks ago

          I-
I’m going to pretend I understand what’s going on here, but interesting! Also, I had no idea about the heart, that sounds really cool! And I guess that makes sense for the spade, though it’s hardly sword-shaped. The icon probably changed over time or something.

          Done!

jiop replied 2 months, 2 weeks ago

I would kind of want to see more of everything, but mainly the ones that only have like one or two mentions in the books. For example, Mahadeva is a kingdom because in the fifth book the queen is one that was willing to send her guards to help protect an ever kingdom, but was never otherwise mentioned.

          uraza169 replied 2 months, 2 weeks ago

Yeah I agree, some of the more vague ones might be fun to explore.

        hester112 replied 2 months, 2 weeks ago

Ooh I also had school off yesterday. Which was like… why? But yay.

          uraza169 replied 2 months, 2 weeks ago

Jhgfghj yeah same, I don’t quite understand why we didn’t have school but one more day of spring break was nice.

        doveys-apprentice replied 2 months, 2 weeks ago

Aww thank you!! (my actual birthday isn’t this week but happy online birthday to me lol)
I don’t remember Maidenvale or is it -ville being described much in the books so I’ll go with that. I’m really enjoying April, I’ve been waiting for flowers and tree blossoms since Christmas XD.
        -Dovey

          uraza169 replied 2 months, 2 weeks ago

          Happy online birthday!
Ooh yes, Maidenvale (I think it’s vale?) would be interesting. It sounds like a very pleasent place, unlike some of the other kingdoms.
Same! Unfortunately I suffer from major allergies, but April is a very nice month for plants.

          doveys-apprentice replied 2 months, 2 weeks ago

Ah yes seasonal allergies are not fun 🙁

        ms-granger replied 2 months, 2 weeks ago

I too am on spring break and can vouch that days mean nothing. I thought it was Wednesday today. The weather’s really nice so I’m in a good mood.
OH MY GOSH WHERE ARE THE GRISHAVERSE CHILDREN AT
        I READ RULE OF WOLVES
WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK?!? I really need to scream about it I’m sorry.

I kinda want to here more about that upside-down kingdom. What was it called again?

Like, do you walk upside down, or all the buildings all just upside down? Does this cause headrushes? How does the gravity work? Why? What if we were to accumulate a massive object “above” the town? Could we flip it back? So many questions.

          uraza169 replied 2 months, 2 weeks ago

AHHHHHHH JHGFDSDFGHJHGFD I CAN’T FINISH RULE OF WOLVES I’M AT THE SCENE WHERE… I’M TRYING TO AVOID SPOILERS BUT IT’S THE SECOND CHAPTER OF THE “MAKING AT THE HEART OF THE WORLD” SECTION AND I CAN’T GO ON.
Borna Coric is the upside-down one, I believe. That definitely must be interesting to live in. How do clouds form? Does it rain? Where is the sun?

          ms-granger replied 2 months, 2 weeks ago

(For anyone who hasn’t read the book at all I recommend not reading this but if you do I won’t say any names)

OH MY GOD NO HE WAS FAVORITE I CANT FISHING BELIEVE IT EITHER!!!!

His notebook of relationship advice was so cute, and like, I completely identify with his lack of social skills, and now he’s just… augh
But you have to finish it. There’s a few special guests you still need to meet!

          uraza169 replied 2 months, 2 weeks ago

I HAVEN’T READ THE SCENE YET, I SAW THE FIRST WORD AND JUST-
          PAIN.
Ahhh yes same for me, he was always so endearing. Also ooh, special guests! I may have an inkling of who one of those special guests is thanks to a spoiler -y quote from the book but I clicked away fast enough that I’m not certain

          ms-granger replied 2 months, 2 weeks ago

It’s fine it’s like the 4 most obvious special guests you could possibly think of for this book.

jafaristhebest replied 2 months, 2 weeks ago

I’m on Spring Break this week, too XD so not super eventful; today we did get gelato and on Sunday we celebrated Easter with our neighbors, where me and my brother were basically the babysitters haha, which was tiring but also fun!
And I would totally visit Rainbow Galeeee!!

          uraza169 replied 2 months, 2 weeks ago

          Gelato! Gelato sounds nice.
Rainbow Gale certainly is an interesting name, I wonder how they got it. For some reason, the first image that popped into my brain was some sort of rainbow river, but the name “gale” might mean it’s… windy? I’m not sure how you can have rainbow air, but maybe I’m wrong about that.

          ms-granger replied 2 months, 2 weeks ago

          Maybe there’s rainbow leaves?

Paint with all the colors of the wind…

everneveracademy replied 2 months, 2 weeks ago

maybe it’s sparkly there with a lot of clouds and nature and yes, probably wind

          uraza169 replied 2 months, 2 weeks ago

Oh that makes a lot of sense
