My Ranking Points
i’m new, kinda. I like it
Welcome to RP Level 0! I’m @evilerruler845, so click my username to read my stories. We have different RP(roleplay) levels. RP Level 0 is a starting point for those who are new to RP. Level 0 and Level 1 are written individually (usually), but Level 1 has more detail in their stories. You could do RP collaborations, but those are collabs are normally posted on RP Level 2 and 3. For RP Level 2 and 3, those who are in those groups work together on the same story/stories as a whole group . We have a former Elder here, who is @caramelprincess. (Currently, the position for Elder is suspended, and one of our Elder Judges decided the position will be ‘suspended until further notice’) Former Elders (there are two here, as far as I know), and others before are also around here, if you ever need any help. 🙂 An Elder is someone who is kind of like in charge of this place, and is there for us to give advice and help. We have a Welcoming Committee to welcome new RP-ers for those new members that are fairly new to SGE on here for RP-ing. The Welcoming Committee are a group of people selected by the Elder to help out as well and show the ropes on how to RP here. (If you have any questions, ask our Elders or some of our Welcoming Committee members. 🙂 ) Some of our Welcoming Committee (for short, it’s WC) members are, @luna101, @kiko55, @dot111, and @fairytalegirl123, who are the Senior WC members. We have 2 more people on the WC, who are in the junior section, which is @cuteypie1mint and me, @evilerruler845. You’ve noticed that I used the term RP and RP-ing. RP means to roleplay, and here, it means to create your own characters to start writing stories/a story about them.
So, let’s get you started… To create a new character, we make a biography, bio for short. Bios are important to your story’s character because we need to get to know them well, afterhand or beforehand. Plz post your stories in chapter(s), and you may do it in POVs (your character(‘s/s’) point of view and change POV) as well. Lable who’s POV it is at he beginning of each chapter. These are the basic things needed to create a bio:
(Btw, we don’t mind detailed bios or chapters!!! We love them! 😉 )
School(it doesn’t have to be about School for Good and Evil, which is optional):
Flaws(Please include this, since if you don’t have flaws, your character might seem a bit too unreal, as nobody is perfect. You could include your character’s flaws in their personality if you wish):
Appearance(we highly recommend it, and it is required):
Clothing/Wears(highly recommended as it helps us visualize your character more a bit):
Fingerglow (if SGE-related):
Backstory(required as well, since backstories gives us a little insight about your character’s past and what it might reflect on in their future):
You may add more as well, such as your enemy, favorite subject, birth date, friends, etc. And it can be in any order, the information on your character written in your bio.
You can RP about anything! And if you wish to use someone’s bio, ask them for permission first. If they allow you to use their character, then go ahead!
Below are some rules and tips that can help you! 🙂
Feel free to ask questions, as long as it’s relevant to RP! We’re all here to help and encourage you to do your best! And……
Have fun!!! Your imagination is unlimited!
Plz don’t post one-liners, which are posts that are irrelevant to this group chat and/or are very short. It’s ok to do it a few times, but just don’t do too many, since it bothers people, and pushes down others’ bios and stories.
No Mary Sues! A Mary Sue is a character that is too perfect. You must have flaws for your character! Nobody is perfect!
Remember: Be courteous and polite to others. We have an Official forum Code of Conduct, and if you wish to view it, go to this link: h ttps://schoolforgoodandevil.com/official-forum-code-of-conduct/
And be prepared for some constructive criticism, and those comments and suggestions are there to help you improve on some areas that may make you a better writer!
Now, onto the tips.
Here’s a good tip for you: Styling your stories! @soulreaper made another account called @soulreapertutorials for us to help us style our stories, trying to emphasize more in what we typed in our stories in fonts like bold, italics, how to post pictures, and more! Sadly, it won’t work, so just go to @soulreaper ‘s activity and see the post on styling stories. This is called HTML, coding words to emphasize more on what you’re writing.
Or, you can go here: https://www.w3schools.com/html/html_formatting.asp This site will show you some help in HTML, which is the bold, italics, etc. to style your stories! You can also learn how to post videos and pictures, (see @soulreaper ‘s activity) and please note that you can only do 1 video/picture/link per post/comment (that’s why I spaced my first link for the Code of Conduct).
If you want to save your stories somehow, where you can edit it and save it, you can write your chapters, stories, POVs, bios, all onto Microsoft Word or Google Docs (or something) and copy and paste it into the What’s New box in RP Level 0: The Clearing! When you feel ready, you can move up onto the next RP Level and continue writing! 🙂
When we’re writing, you want to make sure to not make mistakes, so I’d best advise you to proofread it to check for any grammatical errors or such. Don’t get too repetitive, using word(s) that seem to be used repeatedly in a following pattern. Using adverbs and adjectives are usually what helps me describe things more easily, so you could try that out, too.
You can also do tags, which means that if you are tagging someone, you put @ in front of the person’s username. Like this: @evilerruler845, which is me tagging myself. You do tags to let others read the person’s report card, activity and stuff like that. Or, if you missed a post on someone’s chapter and you didn’t see it, but you were in that person’s tag list, you can go to your activity and check your notifications or go to your mentions, where you’re being tagged to notify you if you’re missing something.
Last thing: you can do some basic smilies.
Like: 🙂 😉 😀 🙁 😛 😮 😐 . For the smiling one, you do it like this: : ) (don’t do spaces, but I’m just trying to show you so it doesn’t actually turn into a real smiley) the big grin: : D , the wink: ; ) , the frown: : ( , a happy face with a tongue sticking out: : P , a shocked face with a mouth gaping open: : o , and a straight line mouth set on your face: : | . Don’t add any periods, commas, colons, etc. before and after the emoji (same with tagging), and otherwise it won’t work.
*We have some different rules on other RP Levels (Levels 2 and 3 (Level 3 is dead, don’t go there, the best to go do a whole group RP is Level 2; Level 1 operates most like Level 0, only more advanced in RP-ing). Go to their docs (they have the rules and stuff written on the docs, this only applies to Levels 2 and 3) and ask the members on that level for more info.
Remember, take your time to digest all this information! (Yeah, there must be a lot of stuff whirling around in your mind…) Go at your own pace and RP whenever you can! 😉
I really hope this helps you! Have a great time at RP Level 0! 🙂
