14th June 2015
Hi, Evs and Nevs!
Do you have a summer reading list? What’s on it? I’m trying to read more classic literature and non-fiction. I’m… somewhat succeeding? As usual, I’m taking the totally batty route and reading several books at once. There’s the classic novel that I read before bed (helps me sleep, ha), the memoir that I read on the subway (a nice way to pass the time without being so distracting that I miss my stop), and the historical non-fiction book that I just picked up (which I’ll probably save for cooler evenings in the park).
A few people have asked if I’ll be traveling at all this summer, and I highly doubt it. Too much to do here — and I’m fairly content to stay in the city anyway. 🙂 Are any of you going anywhere fun, though? My parents used to load me, my sisters, and LOTS of snacks into the family van for huge road trips. One time we drove all the way up the East Coast, from Georgia to Maine.
Right now I’m the middle of editing our Q&A episode of EverNever TV and I keep cackling as I pause at opportune moments. Some prime examples:
You guys asked some GREAT questions. I only wish we had time to answer them all!! And/or that we had shorter answers, heh. As usual, though, you asked things that were thoughtful or difficult and kept us on our toes. In fact, we’re thinking of making this type of video a weekly feature. What do you guys think? What do you hope to see on the show? We’ve got a lot planned, of course, but we’d love to hear your ideas! The show is just as much yours as it is ours, really.
We’ve also got a brief little autobiography here from Ramon, our third EverNever TV team member:
Yo yo yo!
I’m originally from Southern California. Growing up I loved playing with LEGOs, drawing dragons, castles, and making a mess around the house. My favorite books are the Harry Potter series (obviously), anything Toni Morrison, and the Percy Jackson series. If I had a magic power it would be to bend time slash not need to sleep. A random fact is that when I was growing up my mom’s friends would call me “baby ray” – that stays between us Evers and Nevers! ForEVER!
More soon! The new site is absolutely, definitely launching this Tuesday, June 16th. In preparation for that, I have another mini-tutorial for you. This time, it’s for (drum roll please)… the Common Room Forum!
Once you’ve registered for the site, you’ll be able to access the forum, which will consist of a series of groups. You’ll see each as you scroll down the page. (Note: the RP Forum will definitely be one of these groups, but the rest featured in the screencaps below are just examples.)
Clicking on “View Group” will take you to the actual message board for the group.
From there, you can join the group:
Comment on other people’s comments:
And comment on other people joining the group as well:
…Except don’t leave comments like that. Be nice, or else we’ll have no choice but to ban you.
And that’s it! Pretty simple, right? It works a lot like the blog comments, but the groups will help section things off so you can chat in a way that’s a bit more organized.
Additionally, we’ll have a brand-new contest for you, and we’ll continue to roll out cool new features as the summer goes along — all leading up to the release of Book 3. Won’t be long now! 37 DAYS. (Which reminds me: I need to get back to planning the huge launch party we’re having for THE LAST EVER AFTER in July. Eep!)
Until next week, loves! Here’s your song of the day:
